Love this list idea! For anyone interested in the name Daichi, the 'ai' part is pronounced like 'eye' instead of 'ay'. So it'd be more like (d-eye-chi) :)
Hi SJ, I’m a Korean speaker and currently living in Korea, so just wanted to help you out! Jigu would be pronounced more like “jee-goo”, but it’s not a name in Korea, it’s just a word meaning “The Earth”. Most Korean names are made with one or two specific naming syllables derived from Chinese characters, so it’s unusual for Korean parents to choose a “word name” (like ji-gu 지구). It does happen occasionally (I know a kid called Sa-rang 사랑 which is the Korean word for “love”), but most Koreans have Chinese character names. Often these names are chosen by grandparents or fortune tellers who choose an auspicious name for the child. Therefore I don’t think it would be appropriate for a child with no Korean heritage (or not living in Korea) to have a Korean name! Definitely an interesting naming culture to look into though! 😊
So many beautiful names! I’ve always loved Gaia, and I can’t believe Avani isn’t popular yet! Danu is super cute too ;) I also love Greta and David, and also Cosmo from Cosmas. P.s. To answer the age old question from the podcast, people might think Blythe is pronounced to rhyme with Bliss ;)
I just had my baby boy and he's named Valerian Nox. Valerian is a flower and its roots can help you sleep. It also means health and strength, which we loved. Nox means night and is derived from the goddess of the night: Nyx. We absolutely love it
I had an unrelated video idea: reach out to the community for word names that give them “SJ” vibes. Like the other day I saw the word “Dayglow” and I was like that’s an SJ Strum word name. I think it could be kinda fun!
Fun list! Daichi is likely pronounced a little more like dye-chi. Not quite an earth name but still a nature name in Japanese I love is Kotori - depending on kanji used can mean little bird. Midori is a common girls name and is the word for green. Natsumi can mean beautiful summer(again depending on the kanji).
What a special list 💖 I quite like Green/Greene (it's also my favorite color though so a but of bias there lol.) I love Greenley and Viridian as possibilities, they might appeal as alternatives for those who worry Green alone doesn't sound namey enough.
I’m searching for the perfect middle name for our second daughter and It’s so hard. But I love Dhara, I knew a Dara growing up and I always thought her name was so cool!
It's a bit of a wild card, but I really love the name Alpenglow for this list. It's the name of a reddish glow that's seen on the summits of mountains around sunset and sunrise.
My hubby is called Hans. Not a name you hear very often! This is a beautiful name list. I’m still hunting for baby #4’s name and I love your ideas - don’t know where you find some of these names! Amazing! I’m scared to watch your channel after she’s born (she’s our last) in case I fall in love with another name. Guess we’d just have to get a puppy at that point! 😂 How is your sister doing? Sorry if I missed an update. Think of her whenever I watch your videos. Hope she’s doing really well 💕
Another cool spin on this trend would be making a baby after a famous environmentalist or biologist. I've always wanted to make a daughter after Rosalind Franklin, as my ode to the field of study I love. Edit: oh wait you included a whole section for this!!
Most parents to their child(ren); that child is nice, be friends with them Sj to her children; (after hearing an unusual name) oh that child has a nice name, be friends with them
I've heard there's some debate on how Ceres is pronounced. You say it as 'series' (which is the first time I heard it pronounced that way), but I've heard Ceres pronounced as either 'seers' or 'seer-ehz'. No idea which is right or if there is a right way in this case. SJ, have you ever disliked a name because you didn't like the sound of it even if it looked good on paper or in your head? Or liked a name until you heard your or someone else's accent pronouncing it?
My friend Cybele is pronounced "si-bell". Geo, when I've come across it, usually is said like Jo . Greene doesn't work for me because people say "you look green " when referring to looking sick! OR if people refer to you as Green they often mean you are inexperienced or immature which maybe OK for a newborn but not as an adult!
@@An-Su18 Geo as you just described it totally makes sense! To my undesteranding that's close to how it would be said in Italian as well. In the US and the UK the e is more likely to sound like ee than ay, but with a little prompting I don't think it would be too difficult to get people to say it "jay-o" if that was how the parents wanted it pronounced. So yeah probably just regional/dialect differences.
The girl names are all so stunning but the boy names…🙁 why is it so hard to find a boy name!?🫠 31 weeks and still can’t really find the boy names we both love.
I also struggled with a boy name and my twins arrived at 31 weeks so he was nameless for a few days! We couldn’t decide between Bodhi or Charles and the NICU nurses just started calling him Bodhi so we went with that!
Your makeup is so dewy and fresh. Looking stunning SJ 💕💕💕
Thank you for taking the time to send such a lovely message Mandy!! :-)))) xxxxxxx
Right? Very glowy ☺️

Ah this is super interesting thanks so much for sharing x
@@SJ_Strum omg hi! Glad you found it interesting 😌 I’m so into names and really enjoy your videos. Sending love to you and your sister xx
@@rhian6955 my hubby half korean and we wanted to find a korean name for a girl but some are very old traditional. His mom name in English yong.
How is Avani not already trending? It's beautiful!
It’s so gorgeous isn’t it!!!!
Maybe because it's too similar to Armani?
Gaia also reminds me of Maya in sound. So modern sounding! 🥰
As riff on Greene, I really like Midori, Japanese for green xx
Oh yes I love that idea! xx
Midori is a green alcohol too. That was fun throwing it back up 😂😂😂 never again
So many beautiful names!
I’ve always loved Gaia, and I can’t believe Avani isn’t popular yet!
Danu is super cute too ;)
I also love Greta and David, and also Cosmo from Cosmas.

This is such a beautiful name 😍
Thing is, Bumi to me is the crazy earth king friend of Aang in avatar the last airbender
We named our daughter Azore and I love that she's named after the Hawai'i of Europe
Touching on Greene, I ADORE Greenley/Greenlie/Greenleigh

Fun list!

Midori is a common girls name and is the word for green. Natsumi can mean beautiful summer(again depending on the kanji).
Love Gaia, Pacha, Afra and Ceres and then Bardo, Bartlett, Art, Geo, Meridian, Clay, Coast, Dune, Lambert.
I love Greene, never would have thought of it as a name!
I'm so glad you do - I've been thinking about it so much as a name xxx
Cybele is so cute. I would read this as “Sib-elle”, the French version of “Sybil”. ❤
Cybele is Greek, hence the pronunciation, but very understandable why someone would read it in a way that's informed by French at a first glance.
In japan, the boy name Daichi (dye-chi) means earth/solid!!
Gaia is pretty common in Italy, also meaning Happy in Italian
What a special list 💖
I quite like Green/Greene (it's also my favorite color though so a but of bias there lol.) I love Greenley and Viridian as possibilities, they might appeal as alternatives for those who worry Green alone doesn't sound namey enough.
Perfect!! Thanks so much for adding these! Xxx
Green is my maiden name. 💚 Our family says spelled with an "e" it would be pronounced Greenie. It has been used in my family as a middle spot.
We have Archer and Jasper :-) Archer we found through SJ!
Yes Archer is so cool! xxx
I would love Greene as a name because of Rachel Green! 🥰😄
Your skin is so beautiful! What products are you using to get that amazing glow?!
Can you do a “surprise” baby name list? *A list for an opps baby * asking for a friend 😂
Wow.
Hi SJ! I was wondering what you thought of the name Wednesday for a girl? I was thinking the nick name could be Winnie or Edie.
I’m searching for the perfect middle name for our second daughter and It’s so hard. But I love Dhara, I knew a Dara growing up and I always thought her name was so cool!
We need air and water names next! 💖
LOVED ALL the names on this list!
It's a bit of a wild card, but I really love the name Alpenglow for this list. It's the name of a reddish glow that's seen on the summits of mountains around sunset and sunrise.
Yes!!! Wow that’s lovely! ❤

I love this list 💕 thanks for sharing 🙏
Absolutely added Danu and Cybele to my list ❤️✨️ so pretty
Ah Yay - I love those two as well. So so pretty x
I love your dress, where did you find it? Thanks ❤
In Māori mytholgy (indiginous people in Aotearoa New Zealand), mother earth is called papatuanuku (par-par-too-ah-noo-koo) and I love the name Nuku!
My earthy favorites are Damia and Sahira xx
Yes Rebecca - I love those as well - thanks for adding them x
My hubby is called Hans. Not a name you hear very often!

Thank you; I will film at update. She’s doing well at the moment on chemo; waiting for more scan results
Soon xx
My cat is called Kiki (short for Katkin lol) but now I want her name to be Delkii😍
Danu and Dhara are gorgeous!
I love Pacha. Eartha is cool too! I know a Ceres but she says it like seer (like a steak) ez not series.
Terra also is an earthy name
Sorry, Demeter is the Greek or Roman equivalent of Ceres. Persephone is her daughter, I like that too!
Zola means ‘peaceful’ and ‘earth’ - my youngest daughter’s name :)
Instead of Ceres, how about Demeter? She is the goddess of Springtime, Demi could be a cute nickname!
Lovely list! My favourite planty/earthy names are Gro (Scandi word name meaning to sprout) and Holte (means farmer if I'm not misremembering).
Ayyy I'm in here!
A beautiful korean name (of a friend of mine) is Ceybom (say-bum or say-bomm) you could use in a korean name video
How do you get help from you to pick out a baby name? I’m really struggling and I’ve got less than 3 weeks to go
Can you do a words name list?
Love your brows in this x
Also Delkii is a future cat name fie me
Ahhhh funny as I had them laminated!!!! So weird but they are much neater now finally! xxxx

My grandfather is a botanist his name is literally just John 😂

My cousins name is Kiana, in Iranian it means elements of the earth :)
My sons name is Baydr I pronounce it Ba-Dear it means Full moon .
Water, ocean, sea theme
Ceres I pronounce with a short first e, to rhyme with ferries. That might make it sound less like television....

My dog is called Gaia and so many people say it as Gay-ah so that's another I wouldn't call my kid because of potential playground bullying.
Usually when I've seen is said like Joe it's spelled Gio rather than Geo.
@@oddmnemosyne2869 could be where we live? In Romania it's "Jay-o"!

Bardo is a word in spanish that means like a mess, kinda like a riot
Okay kinda random name is Lockley is my favorite unique name
I've also seen Loxley
Pacha like emperor's new groove??
How do we spell Bodi?
Bodhi
Or I've seen it spelled Bode

In Hebrew earth isn’t given a gender or personhood, it’s just called earth or in the Hebrew adama or erets.
The girl names are all so stunning but the boy names…🙁 why is it so hard to find a boy name!?🫠 31 weeks and still can’t really find the boy names we both love.
Here are some of my favorites: Cohen (“Connie”), Reece/Rhys, Dean, Hayes, Jesse, Louie and Noel
Hope this helps & congratulations!
I also struggled with a boy name and my twins arrived at 31 weeks so he was nameless for a few days! We couldn’t decide between Bodhi or Charles and the NICU nurses just started calling him Bodhi so we went with that!
Same! Boy names are tough and my hubs and I can't seem to agree on a name.
