Beautifully filmed video, mi hermano! I’m in my late 60s. I’m retired Navy, and a retired federal wildlife law enforcement officer….i currently live in western MA. When I “fully retired” five years ago, I had a couple of goals in mind…one of which was to hike the AT. Unfortunately, while “on trail”, an old Navy aircraft accident back injury (from the 1970s!) flared up ten miles from nowhere in PA. I came “off trail”; soon thereafter, I lost both parents and managing their final affairs in TN had me driving back and forth for almost three years. I found the AT NOT to my liking….at least at that stage in my life…..viewing it as a 2200 mile long bacteria filled Petri dish-Frat boy party. I was looking for solace, peace…especially after two demanding careers. I am now just a Section Hiker, spending my time day hiking, training my Aussie, short duration backpacking, bikepacking, etc etc. all said, your video really encourages me to “get back out there” for long backpacking trips….which I will now do only in the fall and late spring. Bravo-Zulu, we’ll done, on this beautiful video, young man. I wish you only the best in your coming adventures.
Thank you! Sorry to hear that you had to get off trail and in coming back it wasn’t what it once was. I’m glad that I was able to offer some inspiration for getting back out there. Hopefully I will be able to offer some more in the future. Best of luck on your next journey!
Beautifully filmed video. Wonderful job with music and the music volume. Perhaps film slightly slower on the panoramic view shots so the viewer can get a better look. Also, I heard about someone getting terribly burned when her cook stove and pot spilled onto her legs sitting just like you were at the picnic table. I have subscribed and watched all your content so far. I like your video style and your coverage of your load out and pack choice. Bravo! Well done! Colorado Girl.
Thank you! Yes, if the pot spills over it could burn your legs. Some people have moved away from cooking on picnic tables for that reason but I pay close attention so that it doesn’t fall. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks! I use the Zpacks Altaplex. It’s over kill for me because I am short but I like the extra room it provides vs the smaller plex solo or hexamid solo
Very nice, thanks
