Huge MH-fan, but I could well do with them stopping at this point (never been the biggest fan of bands existing for three decades or more).
However, Robb seems to have no intention of stopping. New songs have been written, new song "Do or die" will drop later this month.
Dave Mc Clain is a great drummer. However, re: the original drummer, I met Kontos briefly outside the SFX in Dublin in 1994 when they supported Slayer. The place was hoppin' when they opened up with Davidian! And a Thousand Lies...my God...this man was unbelievable. Me and my friends met him after outside and he was a great, humble guy. Kudos, Mr. Kontos, come back to Europe again. Great imagination and technique on drums.

Chris looks great and healthy...he was/is a monster drummer and was so instrumental to the sound of the Burn My Eyes album....Chris should have been destined for bigger things...a genius drummer

We got our asses kicked last night in Tilburg by you guys, what a powerhouse of a performance.
Seeing Logan and Chris come up was like being transported back to our childhood. The room exploded with cheers, the energy was incredible, both on stage and on the floor. What a night! 🤘🏻
When i heard Dave left the band my first thought was "there's no way they can replace such an awesome drummer... Well at least Chris returns... But he retired from music, so that's not gonna happen" I'm so glad he actually came back, even if is just temporary...
Man, Really hope they come back to Austin Tx on the American leg of the tour! Im ready to rage out again!
Some bands make a few records, then there's that one album that becomes their breakthrough. Even a band as legendary as Black Sabbath broke through with their second album, "Paranoid." But Machine Head put themselves on the map with their debut, so "Burn My Eyes" has been the foundation of everything else in the band's career, which is why it's such a classic album, and why Machine Head is still current. They've made some epic albums along the way as well, which has only helped them move foward even more, but they'll always have that respect that they just utterly crushed it with their very debut.
Looking forward to see the BME tour roll into Manchester in 7weeks!

Is it still the plan to have other people play the newer stuff? I haven't seen any news. I'm really hoping that they decide to just stick with Chris and Logan and they're learning the new songs.
Sadly I dont think it will happen, even tho Kontos is clearly a fan favorite Rob is Rob.
The original lineup and the debut album was Machine Head everything afterwards was not the same... so with the original lineup the band is interesting again - hope the original lineup will stay or stick together.
I always wondered what happened to him.
The pay day is obviously worth it or they wouldn't be doing it at all cause Logan doesn't do anything for nothing

Dude is a fucking beast. I play guitar, so I’m generally staring at the guitar players at live shows. This dude was going off so much my line of sight kept drifting towards the drummer. He was stellar.

Most bands regret not continuing with the original drummer gar samuelson Sean reinert John bonham Jimmy chamberlain dave lombardo (tho Paul is equally great) Clive Burr, the guy in thin lizzy joey jordison mitch Mitchell Robb will majorly regret this mark my words. Highly intelligent guy.

You left out the best question of the interview. WHY were you the drummer for MH for only the first album?
Supposedly he was fired for not keeping to tour commitments. Reading between the lines here probably BMX or other bands got in the way.
coughcoughsigh I know he was fired but it wasn’t because of BMX or other bands.........but I’m not going to air his dirty laundry on the Internet.
There is an interview with Machine Head from 1997 where Rob explains how Chris was always sick and wouldn't commit to the important live shows such as Donnington 1996, and when he was absent for too much period of time, Rob, Logan and Adam were fed up with that and were searching for a new Drummer and that was, of course Dave McClain.

Dave was a decent drummer but Kontos was THE Machine Head drummer. He's the best for this band and Should come back full time.

Rick Grimes S5 Kontos was a one album wonder, Dave is a metal drumming legend with many albums under his belt, Kontos doesn’t even compare to Dave.
Rob knew that if he didnt get this happening he would be out there looking for a real job , now at over 50 he would struggle to put food on the table . Kontos / Logan / Jared are nice guys hope they go out with a big bang .
