I recently bought this model. It works well, but caution is advised. I used alcohol in the lamp, and it burns hot. If the clamp pops off the table (not everyone has a steel table as shown in this video) and the burning lamp spills, it is a recipe for a surprise fire. Word to the wise.
Why not use a pumpkin oil candle with a couple of wicks? It burns slow so probably wouldn't cut into your oil yield very much (you can after all use an ethanol 'stove' to distill ethanol and yield more ethanol than was used in the stove during distillation). It's not as hazardous and is essentially free if you grow and harvest the seed. An off-grid option perhaps? Does this machine already have a wick setup for liquid fuels and is it non pressurized?
