I'm surprised Disney let you in with your costume. They usually don't let you wear full character costumes because they don't want other guests confusing you as one of the real cast members. They denied my friend entry when I went because he was wearing official han solo boots and a leather jacket.
Disneyland/DCA in Anaheim is no unless it is the halloween night special event. In Florida started to allow it, but there are guidelines what is allowed and not allowed as far as costumes goes
