Very interesting to see the failures! You should post a video showing some behind-the-scenes stuff, I'm sure a lot of people would be keen to see your setup. I'm sure you've got a LOT of projects going simultanously.
I'm more fascinated by how many of the videos document the impressive successes! As a "plant owner" / amateur gardener, I know very well how many plants die without being able to blame the weather or animals! That's life. Nevertheless, it's always nice to see these videos and discover unknown plants! Thank you for that!
I have never seen a purple UFO Before I all my 53 years as a garden enthuiast.... just beautiful.... I loved how hops lassoed themselves looking for something to grab a hold of.....absolutely fascinating ❤❤ Failed or not this was a stunning video
Looking at pictures online it seems it should've borne more in denser clusters, with some even reaching up to 10 peppers per cluster, at the very least the plant should have a lot more red on it in that last frame than others. Could be deemed a fail only by it lacking the expected density.
Looking at the underside of a bunch of the leaves there was weird white spots that kinda looked like mould. Idk how the plant is supposed to look, but maybe it was infected so he considered the rest a fail too even though it grew and put out fruit?
It did produce a bunch of peppers so not a total fail but you could see how stressed it was by the curling of the leaves in the beginning and they also got a lot of white spots and some yellowing on them at the end
atleast the hops shows clear signs of interveinal chlorosis on the newer growth, usually it's indicative for a problem with immobile nutrients or wrong ph levels making it impossible to absorb nutrients due ph imbalance cotton looks the same to me, just with mobile nutrients, sucking everything out of the older growth to put it in the new
The "Turkish Flower Pepper" didn't appear to be a failure to me. It seemed to produce quite well. And the "Purple UFO" while not pretty [or overly productive], did produce-well kinda. 🤨 😁 Thanks for videos-yours failed attempts are still better than many of the others. 👍
No, you didn't fail. You learned A LOT during the whole process, and i'm sure you had fun too :) I realized in life that often the road trip is much more fun than the final destination.
It's great to see some things not going to plan - makes me feel better about the times where things didn't work out for mine :> Thank you for the video!
Watching them wither is a bit melancholy but it shows that even with the utmost care, things sometimes just don't turn out the way you want them too. Felt like I was watching a message for insight. Thank you for the video. 🥲
Cotton plant was growing remarkably good at my place. I know it's obvious to keep recording plants in pots not in soil but knowing all of microorganisms work synergies when I see anything growing in pots separated from soil... It can come with failure even with too high range of temperature fluctuations for roots. I know they are vertical farms and precisely prepared fertilizers. And that some places have badly poisoned soil. But pots for growing are itself limit of some plant maintenance. However badly it sound:)
Smart choice by cutting the cotton stem off to stimulate growth but try cutting the offshoots on the sides of the plant because they use the plant’s energy and don’t let as much nutrients to the main stem of the plant.
The one key difference between success and failure is not giving up after each one. I would recommend however, using some fertilizer. I see a lot of deficiencies with the yellowing of leaves. Perhaps that could have turned some of these around.
With the hops, it seemed to be flourishing until about day 55 before it started to look poorly. Maybe it reaches a stage in its lifecycle where it needs to be kick-started into blooming/fruiting. If you try it again, I would try lowering the daily hours of light at day 55. If you're running 18/6, switch it to 12/12 and give it a cold burst to shock it into bloom

Light could be too hot, low humidity could be an issue, maybe underwatering as well, since its in a terracotta pot. Could even be a fertilising issue. But still creates a fantastic timeplaspe, even if the plants arent doing as well.
The cacao needs high humidity. It is an understory tree, so it can suffice with less light. They actually burn in excessive sun, but they need constant heat and humidity. They don’t like dry air whatsoever.
I thought that how did this fail when this person is able to help the plants grow for a long time even in weeks and even months. Despite the plants dying at certain point in their lives they still did live for quite a while for me to be amazed despite that the plants still died.
I noticed that the light is a consistent white. do some plants need low horizon sun from rise to set (different spectrum) and seasonal light? I wonder if lack of wind or predators (bugs to trigger diffense mechanism in the plants) or occasional pruning from leaf munchers like deer etc, prevents growth. there also might be symbiotic fungi in environments with greater biodiversity. In any case these laboratory like videos provide a good illustration for how vital farmers and their knowledge is to the survival of life on this planet. thanks for dedicating your life to this. Automation could never replace the tireless work of this channel.
I tried cocoa and cotton as well this year. Cotton didn't even germinate and the cocoa did germinate but I was way to scared that the soil would dry out and I overwatered it so all 9 seeds that I had did rot away in the way too moist soil and were eaten by some super small larvae :(
Lucked out on the walnut. Young walnut trees smell terrible, and the smell is worse if you uproot or damage the plant. At least, that is how they smell to me.
Do you leave the lamp on all the time or just during the day? A lot of plants need periods of darkness, that's why I'm wondering. Oh, btw, I asked a few months ago about a Wollemi pine timelapse and you said you might look into it: Do you already know if you ever want to try? I know that sprouting them is kinda hard (but the tree itself is easy to care for), but if you manage to, the plant is worth quite a lot, at least here in Europe. It's very hard to buy. Got a 20cm tall one grown from a cutting for 100€ (including shipping) after searching for years. So you could sell it at some point.
Not everything is perfect hehe Excuse me, could you record a timelapse of the growth until flowering of an Amazon Lily also called Eucharis amazonica? Pliiiiis
Have you been reusing your soil all these videos? Soil will deplete of nutrients and become contaminated with plant-hosted viruses and bacteria over time, especially with reuse and lack of refertilizations with compost
I don't know you can call it a fail, but it's damn fascinating to watch
It was still a good video. I don't think people realise just how painfully long these Time - Lapses take!!!
I wonder what the electricity bill is like keeping a bright light on for 500 + days!☠
Maybe they just don't care about nutrients. Some suffer, some survive.
The tenacity of plants and yourself, even if it ends in failure is still fascinating to watch! ❤
Very interesting to see the failures! You should post a video showing some behind-the-scenes stuff, I'm sure a lot of people would be keen to see your setup. I'm sure you've got a LOT of projects going simultanously.
Id die for behind the scenes!

Turkish Flower Pepper went well! :)
fully expected one of them to just be a time lapse of the pot where nothing grows
HAHA SAME
I have never seen a purple UFO Before I all my 53 years as a garden enthuiast.... just beautiful.... I loved how hops lassoed themselves looking for something to grab a hold of.....absolutely fascinating ❤❤ Failed or not this was a stunning video
Still a nice capture, even as they were lost. Thanks for sharing, even sick plants still have their shining moments 💖💖💖
Good or bad, it's still great to watch, I love how you film it still the same.
I love the hops just went 'You spin me right around baby!'
It has to grab onto its supports some way
Trying to figure out how the pepper was a fail, it bore lots of peppers and didn’t die

It lived longer then outdoor ones.
@@alicattor1469 some plants will 'bolt' and produce a fruit or flower for the sole purpose of seeds to continue on.
It did produce a bunch of peppers so not a total fail but you could see how stressed it was by the curling of the leaves in the beginning and they also got a lot of white spots and some yellowing on them at the end
🌱Fascinating and fun as always, especially the hops trying to climb and wind! Kiitos! 😎✌️
I'm having a spotty year with plantings too, especially the tomatoes.... 🍅😕✌️
Very worthwhile video, beautifully done, as always.
You can't force plants. Sometimes, it just doesn't work.
I solute your hard work and perseverance. Epic.
The joy and the heartbreak!
I wonder if it's a humidity issue? Several of the plants here do best in high humidity/heat. Still great to learn from
atleast the hops shows clear signs of interveinal chlorosis on the newer growth, usually it's indicative for a problem with immobile nutrients or wrong ph levels making it impossible to absorb nutrients due ph imbalance

Thank you for the video!
thanks for posting this, it makes me think maybe i'm not the harbinger of death for plants after all
amazing footage and it is deemed a fail 🤣 i am not sure many of us would call it that.
Watching them wither is a bit melancholy but it shows that even with the utmost care, things sometimes just don't turn out the way you want them too. Felt like I was watching a message for insight. Thank you for the video. 🥲

Amazing videos, the time spent, the dedication, considering how we now have tik tok videos AND are stupid AF. Thanks for these 8 minutos.

5:11 it needs dormacy at that time. Its adapted for cold climates, not for frost free sub-/tropical climates

good on you mate for showing the ones that "fail"
I love you🌱😊

pepper was a success. great yield
Nice work ❤❤🎉
Hands off to the effort
👏👏👏👏👏👏
best lessons are fails -> go on ... ur work is just great
Makes me feel "less" bad about my inability to grown ANY plant without killing it.

This video is amazing 🤩😍
Amazing stuff! Thank you! ♥️♥️✌️🇨🇦
Monsanto strike you down again. All hail our over lord that gives us grain Monsanto
That pepper had a malignant evolution :O
Spirit bro 😎
even the fails are amazing 👍

Alles was einen Anfang hat,hat auch ein Ende 🎉😮

Awwww 😢
I have an idea for you. You can turn the plant into fertilizer and soil, and you can make a another plant
not bad!
Really most plant growing and collecting is failure, we should celebrate our success
The cotton looked like it was trying to fly away!
Good work.
Btw, Hops made into tincture is good for children with ADHD, it's very calming and natural. Look it up ❤
Seeing plants struggling to survive at this timescale is absolutely fascinating

Nice ,live turkish pepper💪
Glad to know I am not the only one 😅.
YAY A VIDEO
Please stop this massacre 😢😢😢
What growing medium do you use? It looks really nice for seedlings.
I’m a bit relieved I’m not the only one to struggle with their cacao plant 😖😖
Why do the leaves shrivel up and fall off?
Life's defining feature is that it dies after - for however brief a time, despite the odds and in the face of immense adversity - having lived.
wow! very nice
Cotton seems to be complaining about resources
do some outdoor gardening
That first one was already so dramatic I don't think someone could call it a failure from a filmmaking perspective
Can you try two differents plants together or an ecosystem ?
wow thank you very much
RIP the cacao
What sound track is the first one? So epic

The cotton one
I'm almost entirely certain the chili ones can't be counted as fails :)
The pepper was great how

Its not a failure as long as ur learning from it
Turkish pepper has grown very well, I don't understand where it failed?
Still waiting for your mango tree to come up in 2025 as you said.
Unfortunately it died so there will be no update video on that one. I've been thinking starting a new Mango so i can make a longer video than 1 year
Not everything is perfect hehe
Excuse me, could you record a timelapse of the growth until flowering of an Amazon Lily also called Eucharis amazonica? Pliiiiis
The pepper succeeded. Not a failure
This is sad to watch. The cotton tried so hard. :(
How many of these do you run in parallel? With how long they take I feel like you probably have 5-10 going at any given time
I try to have 25-30 running at the same time. The more the better since a lot of them don't work out as planned.
@@Boxlapse That's a lot of video equipment, lmao. I love it.
Sorry that your plants died😢
So sad 😢😢😢
Have you been reusing your soil all these videos? Soil will deplete of nutrients and become contaminated with plant-hosted viruses and bacteria over time, especially with reuse and lack of refertilizations with compost
New video giant pumpkin seed growing
It looked like the cacoa plant just needed some fertilizer or compost
where is the failure? I did not see.
maybe you need to increase air moisture or air temperature to have better results
If there was one thing you would have done differently to any of these grows what would it be?
All life ends in death. All these plants lived, and died. No failures here.
The cotton needed a bigger pot
what was wrong with the walnut tho, looked fine
Could the fails be due to a lack of air flow at the bottom?
So you think the hops failed because of the lighting, or insufficient space for roots?
