As a child growing up in Jamaica JBC Tv use to play this video every day...me & my parents would dance and sing the words lol...the good times...classic from Chalice 🔥🔥🔥🇯🇲🙏🏾
I was on my way home from work on Friday May 20, 2022 and it was playing on the bus I was traveling on. It was like I was transported back in time to a much simpler Jamaica 🇯🇲, this song was from my childhood. I had to go looking for it today it's the weekend before labour day holiday on Monday. Time for sweet reggae music 🎉 To songs that are timeless🥂🍾
I remember this video as a child. It took me years just to find the name of this song! Now to actually see the video after all these years! Well done!! Thanks a mil for the post.
Glad you found the video...It's a nice song...Wayne Armond is a brilliant songwriter, singer and guitarist, who, wrote the critically acclaimed song, "Still Love You", which, was covered and became a hit for Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores..
So listening to this just takes me back to a time when life was so simple, neighbours and everyone in the community interacted and respected each other and there was little crime. The melody is so peaceful that my roommate in Kuwait keeps asking why I have the same music playing daily. He listened to this and a few others and I explained that this is the only way I can preserve our music since Jamaica has changed and things are not the same. Plus the fact that when JBC switched to TVJ, they lost a lot of classic music videos and other shows like Titus in Town, Oliver at Large, Claffy, Lime Tree Lane and other classic series.
This is one of those sweet, fun and light-hearted Reggae songs, from back in the day...The good old days. I like the concept of the video and it's nice that it was shot in Portland, one of, if not, Jamaica's most beautiful parishes...Speaking of beautiful, that was/is a beautiful Japanese/Asian woman. I love fun Reggae songs, like, this one, Jimmy Cliff's fantastic "Reggae Night", "Kokomo" by The Beach Boys and "This Magic Moment" by Leroy Gibbons, which, was featured in the Tom Cruise movie, "Cocktail" and last, but, not least, "Shaka Zulu" by Major Mackerel.
That isn't actually Portland, if the Boston jerk sign confused you, that is not what Boston jerk looked like at the time of this video. And there was a jerk centre in Kingston using the name. The beach scence i remember either being Gun Boat beach at Palisadoes Kingston or Hellshire
Grew up watching this video! Here is a challenge for you, That "All we are saying is give peace a chance" song having Admiral Bailey, Dorraine Samuels and almost everybody in it
Daveian Morrison just the other day I was talking to my sis about give peace a chance that they should put it back on TV with all the crazy things that is having was singing some of what I remembered from it. would love to see it too.
My dad and i used to jam out to this song when i was in gradeschool. He passed away in april and hearing this makes me really happy. Took me about 5 years to find this.

After listening fame on Wednesday's hearing denvo playing this song... Just knowing the name
Classic!!! Remember watching this on Saturday evening on Video Saturday on JBC
Howard Samuels I miss those days
It was called "Music Music" at that time I think. I think the name changed to video Saturdays sometime in the 90s
Love this song. Caribbean pop music in the 70s/80s is woefully under-appreciated.
