I do appreciate your willingness to share your struggle with us. I know I have an abundance of struggles, especially with finding the time and energy to get started. The pausing and coming back to finish, was a good lesson in stepping away to re-energize and refocus. And, "it's okay" to not have everything be your favorite piece of work! Thank you for sharing. 💝
I do that all the time even when sewing. I realised there's no point in forcing it as you just get frustrated and don't enjoy it. I probably should have left it for a whole day but I neede to move on. Thank you so much!

The wonderful thing about these challenges for me- if I don't like it, like your fish page, you can always add other pieces to the collage until you do like it. You are not restricted to only the prompts on the list. You can also find other things that fit within the prompts and revisit the page later. There is no sense keeping a page you don't really like just because--as with this page-- some pieces may be nothing to do with the prompts- but they fit well on the page. Hope that helps!!

thanks for this video rachel. it was really helpful to see you working through the design challenges of this 2 page spread. you didn't give up and you knew when to take a break and come at it again with a fresher mind. it's funny how some pieces just come together so quickly and easily and naturally and some pieces are just "unhappy" from start to finish.

Only 6:00 minutes into to the video and already in awe as usual . I don’t have any rough paper she says. Then out you pull the prettiest textured piece of paper, just like that.
I could watch you auditioning all day . I would like to make one of these. Seems like a good exercise in creativity. Now I’ll finish watching. Just had to make that quick comment. Thanks for always sharing what you’re up to. I’m learning so much. If you ever branch out and offer classes. I would be in for that!

It’s lovely. I think a touch of fabric or lace, something tactile would add that missing element. I love the way that it makes you think and problem solve.

Hi Roxy, I am watching your presentation and heard you mention that you completed your Medieval Mirage Kit. I have just discovered the beauty of this kit after catching the end of Gayles' presentation and once I found it and purchased and printed it I suddenly realised I love it so much I am scared of doing something to ruin it. Do you have archives? Is it possible for me to go back and see your presentation, and could you write down who you said you purchased the book from that you are currently working on? I have only just joined your wonderful community and already met the most lovely people (yes like you). I love watching the way you rip into the paper and from bits of nothing make something beautiful. Stay safe and stay well,

I'm. caught up to you! I decided to do it along with your video. I am so literal. I was thinking real money. But so thick in the book. Then you said ledger and bang...I had it and in pencil. Sometimes I think I am too literal for this challenge. I'm trying to learn. So what I did was-Pencil ledger from 1904, a mockingbird feather for F (you know me and birds), for coarse paper I used a library card a friend did that was jelly plated. For the flag (which I suppose could be F) I put a vintage playing card that has the Cuban flag. And I used a cigar label. I think that covers it. I will we could add photos here! Love your videos. Love the recent journal too!

Actually that would have been interesting to see the two different collages based on two different languages for that letter. I haven’t got time to do these challenges at the moment and I know I would find it super challenging.Love it when the ephemera folders come out. Interesting comments on money. Would real currency enhance or detract from the concept of the collage. I like the ledger and invoice representations . TFS. The 10 c picture looked good down in bottom right hand corner from here. You could have put Sienna flags?
I'll revisit the 10c it seem to work to me but you never know with fresh eyes! I forgot I have some notes from Thailand I could have used one of those. Iìll have to remember if the money them repeats in a future challenge. Thank you so much!
