    Having Notion as a portfolio is a life saver and less time consuming. This is the dawn of new job hiring that instead of coding or designing the webpage for your portfolio, Notion is much simpler and have this minimalistic design for yourself to edit.

    Hi Thomas, thanks a lot for this! This is is pretty cool & I would like to thank you for your amazing content, it really is extremely useful! Second, I was wondering if you have any solutions to the following three problems:
    1-Is it possible to create a dynamic ranking system? For example, ranking pages in a database from 1 to 10, where every time I change a number it automatically updates the rest of the numbers.
    2-Is there a way to automate the use of icons in notion (or batch apply templates to existing pages)? I have a database of articles in notion, but unfortunately they already have text inside, which means that it's very time consuming to have to apply the template button with my preferred icon. Is there are a way to "apply all" to existing pages and use a specific icon for multiple pages at once?
    3-I created a relation property between two pages, in particular between book titles & book authors. However, I already have the book author property filled but in text form & I want to copy all the data from text form into the relations property, is there a way to automatically do this as I have more than a 1000 authors?
    Thanks a lot!

    Just one Question:
    I'm using your ULTIMATE SECOND BRAIN Template. And when I'm sharing a page to the web the content does not show. I guess because of the linked Database stuff. Is there a way to fix this?
    I will ask this in the circle as well. Just wanna let you know that all the way to germany we are watching your content ;)

      Hey Kay! Sorry for the late reply, TH-cam was hiding all my comments. Just had to send them a bug report about it.
      That issue is happening because the underlying database isn't shared to the web. So people can get to the page you shared, but the database rows aren't publicly available. If you share the source database too, everything should work!

    great content, im working on 2 portfolio in notion and would definitely take note of this. However is the button feature isntn't avaiable back when you created this? So instead of creating a long landing page, why dont you section it per page and create a button to link them all together.

    • @ThomasFrankExplains
      @ThomasFrankExplains  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Buttons could likely work for that purpose! You could also just use links; you don't actually need to create buttons just to connect multiple pages.
      For this video, I intentionally kept the site to one page just to keep things simple for people following along.

    If we decide to go this route, how do we deal with a domain email address for email marketing? What options are there if you have a free Notion website to have a domain email address? Would it be a 3rd party email provider?

    • @ThomasFrankExplains
      @ThomasFrankExplains  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, and I ALWAYS recommend doing it this way. Even if you’re not using Notion, I would never recommend using the same service for site hosting and email. Instead use something like Google Workspace and set up your DNS with mx records as needed

      Nope, Notion hosts it 🙂
      Honestly at this point, I think Notion is the best tool for making a really simple and quick site.
      We don’t have custom domains or powerful design tools yet, but I think for a lot of people, they would simply not make a website if they felt they had to worry about that stuff right away.

      You can make individual pages public on the free plan. I have several Free Plan workspaces with public pages; in fact, the demo for my Ultimate Brain template is on a free workspace.
      What the $8/month gets you is a public home page and a notion.site domain.
