if i was a climber i would prefer water solo climbing than ordinary cliffs climbing,i dont know but falling in to the water sound more survival than falling to the ground
Believe it or not, the 2nd and 3rd place guys (Daniel Woods, Nalle Hukkataival) are much more accomplished boulderers than Chris. But that dyno (jump) move where Daniel and Nalle both fell fits Sharma's gymnastic style so well. Sharma is a great boulderer as well, but his strength is more as a sport route climber.
No he doesn't. This climb is much more physical and has way more difficult moves than the stuff Alex free solos. Honnold is badass no doubt, but this is a different style of climbing. Alex would not even come close to placing in this event. What Alex does is much more about mental focus. He would not free solo a climb which requires the level of physical difficulty as this. He would 100% without a doubt fall to his death on a climb similar to this on real rock.
the_masta Yes, the organizers of this event placed plastic holds on this bridge because they wanted both competitors to follow the same route for the purposes of this competition. I haven't explored this particular bridge so I don't know if it's climbable without the plastic holds, but the fact that they put holds has no bearing on whether these climbers can climb as well as Alex Honnold or not. I'm not trying to be rude, but it doesn't seem like you know a lot about actual rock climbing. I am not trying to insult you or Alex Honnold. Alex is the top free solo'er, but even he would admit he is not as good of a climber as Chris Sharma.
That's certainly one way to explore some of Spain's ancient architecture.
Another great event from Red Bull.
Chris Sharma is awesome!!!
Chris is my favourite climber by a long shot
Burly comp! Super sweet!
How does Redbull get permission to drill holes in a bridge made in the 11th century?
Same question
Donating money to the town.
Jeremy Atkinson it makes publicity of the place and the wholes probably don't do much harm.
Yeah it's kinda fucked up
They are smallest possible holes you can drill,it surely wont damage the structure of the bridge, dont be a god damn karen
Good competition and interesting to watch !

Alex Honnold does the same climbs except 5 times higher and if he falls, he hits the ground

guys they put artificial hand holds for these climbers! Alex uses what the rock has, they could never climb that bridge without the hand holds
