How is it political that he pointed out there was a shut down and the only way people could get released back to work (or keep a job in medical science) was often under duress by big Pharma controlling how that would happen? He simply stated reality. He talked about the history of what happened and called it a script. I don’t understand what you’re claiming made what he specifically said political. You don’t think there was a shut down or you don’t think people were forced under duress to take from BigPharma what wasn’t long term proven if we wanted to continue on with our life and if you work in medical still be “allowed” to save lies? Our family is in medical science, 100% forced under duress or let go is not the same as 100% agreement on what is best. You know that. But the joke, and I’m sad that I have to explain this to you, was actually that what actually happened sounded like a ridiculous script. The funny part is that the ridiculous script is reality. Get it now? It’s not political, it’s a disease and the power of big Pharma is not something that definitely caused the statistics we saw in the US. It’s just a fact that bigpharma was able to convince the government not to allow the treatment they didn’t have patent on that was successfully used in other countries with humans. And I’m specifically talking about the drug that won the Nobel prize in 2015 for human use yet was relentlessly made fun of even on SNL. That was a truly political joke with serious consequences. This is a bipartisan issue and you need to humble to that fact and realize reality. It’s just a fact that our local hospital was told which direction to call “the science.” It was also clearly spoken that there was to be no questioning and tech itself called real life miss information and I’m pretty sure I still couldn’t use the name of that medication without this, getting flagged and taken down despite its huge success and safety. You should agree with Republicans when they say that’s a really serious issue that there wasn’t questioning allowed in medical science. You should agree with Republicans when they are concerned about how specific pharmaceutical companies we’re allowed to freely push their ideas that had far less testing than what Republicans wanted to push that was successfully used in other countries. Why did this get political? I was undecided in 2020, until I saw how Republicans really weren’t making it as political as Democrats were. It was an illness, it wasn’t racism to say where it came from, it wasn’t dangerous to tell people to take the drug that was working. It wasn’t life-saving to tell people to take what wasn’t done with long-term studies. I’m sick of the nonsense, you should be sick of it too.

All you need to do is look at the graph of "daily new deaths in the US." The numbers of deaths were going up like a rocket in November and December of 2020. Then the vaccines were made available in the middle of December (before FDA authorization). A couple of weeks later, the numbers of daily new deaths suddenly drop like a rock.

After two years, they’ll never be ready. Fact is, an unbelievable amount of blind dummies out there
They didn't get it
Never underestimate the power of denial.
My favorite part was when no one laughed because he was calling them out
Or because he didn't convey his point in a funny way. I think even the people who agreed with him, didn't find it funny, it was just commentary.
@@sketchyemailer101 exactly. Delivery is what matters. Give this exact script to Dave Chappelle and we'd be laughing our butts off.
I don't even think the deliveries were that bad; that was just, not a good crowd imo. I was actually pretty surprised that (almost) no one laughed in a few different spots.
People seem to be really heavily influenced by laughter (hence laugh tracks being put in every show lol), and when there's a dud crowd like this, I think it makes some people go "Oh. It must not have been funny then".
It's like when you see videos of live concerts sometimes where the band is giving a great show, and the front rows are just standing there still, almost looking bored. Sometimes it's just a "dead" crowd 🤷🏻♂️
Was it Richard Pryor or George Carlin level delivery? No. Was it bad? Not really imo. It was alright. I think the "dead" crowd made it seem worse
People didn't laugh because it was just a stupid anti vax message. Woody's got some loose screws.

Absolutely 💯 Cause it's the sad truth we all have known all along!
Lmaooo it’s such a fact!
Probably cuz it’s not funny
First Woody got them toi lower their guard with all the talk about weed. Then he gave them an upper cut of truth straight to the chin. I laughed my a** off.

This is the 1st time I’ve watched anything on snl for years. It’s no good anymore but this was great 😂😂😂😂😂
He is my hero! Imagine a Hollywood star telling the truth!!! So wonderful to hear it!!!
yes my hero too . i will buy every movie he played in.
Charlie Sheen spoke out about the 9/11 official story being a complete joke. At the time, he was one of Hollywood's hottest actors, but immediately after, he was labeled a train wreck.
Michael Jackson did the same thing and immediately the pedophile rumors start.
John Lennon speaks out and is shot.
Prince was a huge pop star and he spoke out against the government and 9/11, and he died unexpectedly at a fairly young age.
There are probably more examples.
Not Hollywood, but JFK is shot shortly after he gave a speech stating he was going to clean up a mess he discovered.
And just after 9/11 when the USA was supposedly searching for Bin Ladin in Pakistan, the Pakistani leader spoke out and revealed that he was already dead. A week later, she was assassinated.
He nailed it, and the silent disoriented audience is priceless.
My reaction was less than the audience... this story was entirely pointless

Wow Woody, that was a cleverly written monologue you said so much while sounding like you are saying so little. brilliant writing.
This is sarcasm, right? It was beyond basic, and heavy handed. You'd have thought someone would at least have punched it up for him.

If this is the new direction of SNL I might start tuning in again.
Between hiring Sarah Sherman, giving the Please Don't Destroy guys their own segment, the large cast departure between seasons 47 and 48, and the newer/underused cast members actually getting more screentime, I'm pretty sure we're seeing SNL rebuild/reinvent itself again. I mean, yeah, it does suck that Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong had to leave to make this happen, but what are ya gonna do? I just hope Kate and Cecily have a good post-SNL life, along with Pete, Kyle, Melissa, Chris, Aidy, Alex, and Aristotle (especially Aristotle. They definitely should have kept him, but I guess Michael Longfellow is a better fit in Lorne's eyes. Either that or Aristotle caring for his mom who has multiple sclerosis was cutting into him being on SNL. Either way, he got his chance to shine, despite his short run).
