Guatemala is a tiny country but with so many subcultures (about 25 different languages are spoken in its small area) and climates... From ultra hot to very cold, all combinations of humidity and altitude. It also has a very difficult topography that oftentimes makes very hard to travel short distances. When you combine this with the influence of Mayan, neighboring Aztec, Spanish, African, German, Swiss, and many more, the result is a great variety of foods. I enjoy Guatemalan food, including multiple dishes you haven't even shown yet. I hope to see several of them in your next videos.
Guatemala is not a tiny country. El Salvador and other Caribbean islands are smaller. Guatemala included Belize, the Mayan Riviera in Mexico, Cancun and Oaxaca but were stolen from Guatemala by corrupted governments. Nonetheless, is not tiny. You cannot explore the whole country in one day.
@@angelarodas9621 I love Guate, but IMHO, it’s very small compared with many countries, including Latin America. Although it’s true that minute Caribbean Islands are much smaller, within the worlds stats, Guatemala is quite small. It’s current official 107 thousand square km. In area means it’s less than one sixth of the world average country size. Within Central America, it ranks third after Nicaragua and Honduras. However, within its small area, Guate is an amazingly beautiful and diverse country.
Mark, I'm so thankful for your visit to Guatemala. I always wanted someones outside opinion of our food and culture. I've always felt like we've been overlooked in that sense. Watching these episodes and reading the comments, I know now that the world is watching. Thank you and it goes without saying that you enjoyed every moment and mouth full.

Some of the best food I've ever eaten was in Antigua Guatemala! It's a town that gets some pretty heavy tourism, but with a little extra research you can find the really great home-grown places beyond the tourist traps. My best memory is just seeing all the locals making tortillas everywhere you go, and bringing them directly to you at the table. Simple. No frills. Amazing. 🤤🇬🇹
Hi Mark at 15 I spent almost a month in Guatemala. Visiting the Old city was an experience I'll never forget. I promised myself, when I got out on my own, I would visit again, with the hope of relocating there. While God had other plans for my adult life, Guatemala and her people will forever hold a special place in my heart! Through you, I've seen some of the sights I visited so long ago. Much growth has taken place, still the atmosphere of the hearts there has remained the same. Thus, the beauty of both cities has remained in many ways the same as well! I'm so happy that you are there, viewing the customs, colors, and depth of a people God calls His! Thank you for taking me along, and for sharing your love of people and life with the world! Prayers, love and blessings always, T.❤To❤
