I remember Darky Kart Wii from a decade ago. Even though the texture hacks weren't necessarily top quality, the overall style and creativity from the pack made it quite interesting and enjoyable to play
Its a great mod, but i thought it would be better if City Escape would be Toad Harbor, since both are based on San Fransisco. But I apreciate Darky Kart’s return
This is such a banger! Never thought I’d see the day Darky Kart would make its way into MK8DX, but if it did, I expected it would be by DarkyBenji himself. And ain’t no way some Mario Kart Black textures (and the song too, for DKSC) got included. Hahaha. Though I expected Dragon Road to be over Dragon Driftway.
Yeah, it was a nice surprise to see this pack get made in MK8DX!
3:06 has to be the best music on the entire pack and on Mario Kart 8 the music really shines compared to MKWII which the console is worst for music, so clean now.

Darky did make a few MK8 textures, but it was mainly the mod creator, Anoniimous that put this mod distribution together. It’s still a really awesome mod pack! Also to answer your question, this is only on the switch.

They should honestly do this for the regular tracks but with more than just textures, like actually change the hazards and terrain and stuff. The Animal crossing track is a good example

as much as I loved using Darky textures on mario kart wii, I dont think this is gonna slide for the switch, iirc, nintendo has gotten very strict with mods and will ban you if you use these online, not even mentioning, its super hard to mod a switch anyways, idk i might take the risk just to spice up the game ❤
Use it to play offline, and a switch is very easy to hack, is just expensive like 100$

In my imagination Dark Bowser's Castle is the hardest track because the antigravity section is slippery ice and inside it's very dark: so dark that you can't see who's in front of you or behind you. It also has Dark Bowser's eyes Glowing in the darkness. Be careful! Because there are enemies that are EXTREMELY intelligent, and if they see you, they'll catch up to you and capture everyone they see. So, WATCH OUT!

how to install the mod ?
open your emulator…right click game list picture mario kart 8…in the opened context menu…click on mod location (or something alike)…place/drag the folder with the mod inside the opened location…alternative choose the folder with the mod from the opened window (it can look a bit different)…tip is to place the mod-folder in before in an easy to find place…like your desktop…hope this helps otherwise just google ”where to place mods in XXX”…

I feel like these textures are a bit of a mixed bag. Some of the tracks look really good, but quite a few of them don't look great. The colour palette on some of the tracks really clashes and looks ugly; the lighting in certain tracks doesn't look great, particularly those at night; and some of the textures look pretty muddy and low quality. Overall it's a cool idea though - some look even better than the original tracks in my opinion.
