Doing Seamwork DYW for Fall/Winter 2020 and so glad they partnered with My Body Model. Like most women, my body is a story unto itself and fitting is pretty tricky. Using my personal body model and sketching the patterns I think I want to use on it makes it so much easier to pick the right style and fit. Thanks for this!
I love to see but often struggle to visualize how the garment will look “on me”. I’m hoping that sketching out projects first will help me feel more satisfied overall as I’ll be able to spot proportion and design issues before I begin 😊
Love it! I just listened to your interview at Love to Sew. I have been dreaming about sewing, bought some supplies and a pattern, but I have never sewed a garment. I asked myself: do I need a croqui? For what? This video illustrated that I may not need a croqui but I would love to have one now LOL Please, create more videos like this one!
Sadly only the first three videos in this series are available, but if you you can find some additional sketchalong videos in this playlist: th-cam.com/play/PL9mDSSqU09QA2h2RNs6eC06oExPoGYBt1.html and you can find our newest drawing courses here: www.illustratedstyleschool.com/store I hope that helps!
This just sounds like too much fun! I have to wait a bit before purchasing so I'm looking forward to it. I did a preview body model and have to say, it worked great - I have been using another program to map my measurements, so i have my measurements down pat =) You know what else would be fun, is to make a stamp of my body image and use that in my journals...I could even make a paper doll...Hmmm must see to that after I purchase the initial model. Great idea and I'm looking forward to the fun.
Hi Linda, I'm so happy that you liked your body model preview! It's funny that you should mention making a stamp for your journals and making paper dolls - We have blog posts on both of those exact topics coming up very soon at mybodymodel.com/blog! I think you'll enjoy them. :-)
@@MyBodyModel Oh how fun! I made a paper doll of myself as a kid and then "played" with it forever-still have it, too. My idea of a great time so I can't wait. I am subscribed, so I'll look for it.
Thank you, Katrina! I hope that it was helpful. Here's a link to the Pinterest board that I mentioned: pin.it/gbt5lwtcwawbzk - Or you can also search the username "MyBodyModel" to find and follow.
I can't hear you as I am profoundly deaf but was really disappointed that the subtitles are in Spanish! Its a shame because I have been told these tutorials are excellent.
Hi Maggie, thank you for letting me know about this issue! I’m not sure why the captioning would be in Spanish. I will look into how to fix it and hope to have this resolved soon. Thanks again for letting me know.
Hi Maggie, I'm very sorry to say that there seems to be a glitch that is causing the subtitles to be generated in Spanish in this video. I am reaching out to TH-cam and will let you know if they are able to fix it. The good news is, the captioning in all the other videos is in English! If you start with part 2 you should still be able to draw along, as I go over each step in detail. Thanks again. -Erica
Thank you! This is a gift!

Loving this series as I am a complete novice! This also helps in looking at design details and choosing the ones most flattering for your body shape.
Really helpful video. Thanks Erica. Looking forward to more.
Thank you, Barbara! Video #2 is now posted publicly - I hope you like it!
Today I finally used the credit I bought last year. My croquis came out perfect on the first try and I can't wait to start designing!!
Hooray! Judy, I am so happy to hear that!! Happy Sketching!
Looking forward to part 2!!
Thank you so much, Sue! Part 2 is ready for you now. I hope you enjoy it!
I love this series! I've watched 1-3 the tops, and am looking forward to the next two in the series on bottoms. Very helpful. Many thanks.

Are the next videos (parts 4/5) in this series available somewhere? I don't see them in the list. Thanks! :)

I'm a Newby and have always loved drawing but I really struggle and my drawings is like a 3 year old ha ha ha so this will help me tremendously
Love the video, thank you! Could you post a link to your Pinterest page?
