i feel you on that hospital bills thing. i broke my leg and had to get surgery and all that, i kid you not that bill was six figures… thankfully i am a minor and my family has health insurance but many people can’t afford insurance, so hospital bills can be really crippling. shits sad

I loved listening to Dontai talk about marriage. My husband and I also waited about 10-11 years before we got married. (Dontai said he and his partner waited 10 yrs).
It is crazy how often ppl ask me for relationship advice when they find out and then when I tell them marriage is not that important some people act like I'm talking crazy.
I'm of the opinion that people treat marriage and relationships as some kind of ownership over someone. I'm like, you can never own someone. They are always independent of you through will, mind, and body. No matter how much you love someone, no matter how much you change for them or do good by them, you will never own someone before or after marriage. So you HAVE to be with someone for more than a measely 2-3 years IMO before you marry them. You have to make sure you guys know what it's like to live together.
If you're in a long distance relationship, make sure you meet the person in person a few times and see what it's like to spend a few weeks sharing a room and a bed.
You guys gotta know each other's flaws inside and out. How responsible are they of themselves and their relationship, how well do you guys get along, are you guys best friends and keep your personal relationship info to yourselves? Or is someone a gossip who loves to spout all your secrets and business around to their friends and family because they need validation or opinions involved in your relationship?
There's just too much that not even 2 years of dating can be enough to decide if someone is worth marrying.
Yeah, there are some ppl who marry in less than 1 year and last a lifetime *happily* but that's not common. If you want a serious relationship, then be cautious and take your time. Make sure that when you both are sure you want to marry there are no love goggles clouding. That you guys can make an effortless list of many reasons why you guys are good for one another and why you want them to live in the same home as you.
I can understand why people shouldn’t really pocket watch other peoples money, but if that individual is always complaining about financial issues and never hold themselves accountable for how they spend their money it’s like cmon bro

Some people may not agree with the very harsh statement of Boogie deserves his failure but it becomes a lot more palatable and agreeable (in my opinion) if you put it as: Boogie made his bed and now he must lay in it. All of these issues that hes having right now are because of him solely. No other outside forces made him make all of these terrible monetary decisions or say all of this controversial shit (which this video didnt even get into all of that). So while I dont necessarily want to see Boogie sink deeper and deeper into failure and lose literally everything he owns, I cant really say I pity him.
