WSPR Weak Signal Propagation Reporter

WSPR stands for "Weak Signal Propagation Reporter"… a protocol used for weak-signal radio communication between amateur radio stations. It’s fully automated and reports to the WSPRnet.org server in real-time. In this video, we’ll take a quick look at WSPR and what you can learn from it.

Hi @VK3FS I’m a foundation license holder with 10 watts max tx power. I have tried wspr with my radio on 10w and computer fed into a cobweb antenna. I was amazed to see my signal was spotted in most of Europe, west coast of the USA, east and Western Australia. I had no idea my signal was reaching that far on Qrp Amazing stuff thanks for sharing. 73s M3SNU.

WSPR is a great early warning of band conditions as well as a great QRP mode. It's amazing where you can be heard with as little as a few watts.

Steve... my signal with an absolute MAX power of 200 milliwats has been decoded all over the globe. If you can, use NO MORE than 5 watts maximum !. 10 watts would considered shouting. 200 milliwats gets me to New Zealand and VK land is a daily occurance for me. have multiple stations in Antartica.. including the USA Mc Murdo base.
