  • In this video, I break down how to remove the front bumper of my 2022 Toyota 4runner, I also reveal why it's not ad easy as so.e might think as the newer 4runners (2021-2022) have more harnesses and a sensor to be disconnected prior to bumper removal. Check it out!

    You helped me out a lot bro, mahalo! It was kind of hard to figure out how to get the light connector housing and TSS unit. Each one is a different style of clip. The light housing one on the driver's side is especially tricky, but I think it's done like that by Toyota because they have superior engineering, and they know that piece is almost going to be accidental defacto load bearing when removing the bumper, I know it was for me for a couple minutes.
    For those doing this to swap valence, there's no way to change valence on 22, 23 onwards without removing the front bumper bumper.

      Actually it is possible to remove tge front valance without taking tge bumper off. The rear is a different story, that one must come off

    Thankss for the video, very helpful, on the front sensor, I found it much easier to remove the 2 10 mm bolts to the bracket then going for the screws. just a suggestion, work well for me.

    It might be worth doing this to change your valance if your thinking of doing that. You can do it without taking the bumper off but it is a real pain reaching some of the clips that hold it. Also it would be easier to to but all the clips back on taking the front bumper off.

    You must be getting ready to put in your new headlights. I bought the Apex headlights (see thumbnail pic) they really set the truck apart from other 4 Runners.. I love mine. Mine goes through a start up procedure where they turn on and off in kind of a sequence of amber then white. Your truck is looking good.👍

    Looks like the front bumper sensor bracket has 1 10mm screw that will remove the whole thing?

    Thanks again for another thorough demonstration as I'll be installing my new Fang lights w/switchback. Question: In the engine bay fuse box, how would you connect the fuse extender as mine (2023) the 10A INJ is on the first top row and not much room and prevents fuse box cover to properly close and seal? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

      2 options: 1) you'd need to drill through the cover to run the wires through.
      2) clip the cover on in front and just allow it to rest on the wires. That's what I did and it's been over a year with no issues.

      As an alternate to the four screws, you can remove the two bolts that hold the tongue bracket to the core support area. Then the whole thing comes off. I’m still having trouble with the camera wiring however

    Whole video is great except the sensor for cruise control. If you don’t know how to unplug it you’re going to struggle. Showing might have helped I’m currently stuck there. I’m sure it’s easy but when you don’t know you definitely don’t know

      Yes, it definitely caught me off guard when removing the front bumper. I was on a mission and just wanted to figure it out without thinking of recording it because I needed both hands; I just tried to sum it up in the end. Hope you were able to figure it out

    I’m stuck on the grille sensor disconnect. Looks like you have only one plug in however my 22 has two plug ins. One similar to yours and one that looks like it’s connected directly behind where that sensor/camera sits. Any tips on removing that is greatly appreciated

      @RydinNStyle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@D6EH hey actually yea! So looking at his video at the 5:38 markish he’s removing a bundle of wires connected to the bumper by that push clip. In that segment you can see that all you have to do is unplug that part in his hand. If you do that you don’t have to worry about trying to remove that front bumper cam etc. Let me know if that makes sense. Wish I could post pics to help

      You are also dropping a lot of money on mods that are standard equipment on a TRD. New wheels and tires alone had to be 5K. I do get you are making it your own though which is cool.
