- -We had to travel from New York City to Michigan during the coronavirus to pick up our new puppy Rio, a toy Australian Shepherd!
-My grandma and cousin had to cancel their plans to bring him to NYC, so it was up to us.

We lost our 14yr old mini Blue Merle 'Mick' last June who was my best buddy. Now we have a toy Aussie 'Tilly' a red Merle 1yr old and a standard Aussie 4mo old 'Tucker' a black bi so we know about these wonderful doggies. Ya gotta work with 'em and train 'em first at least to do some behaviors like sit, down, shake, high five, roll over, leave it and stay or they will not respect you as a leader and get into trouble. They are super easy to train and you will be soooo happy to have a loving doggie that is super nice. Be patient and the rewards will be awesome! You guys seem like you will be great Aussie owners. ENJOY!
We can tell that the breed is very smart. Rio learns tricks pretty quickly!
@@onourway7358 ~ YES! Tucker learned shake, high five and turn around each in about 5mins! It's really astounding how willing to learn these guys are.
You are so right about the way the breed is and I lost my 8 year old Aussie in March to Lymphoma. I just got a new Toy Aussie last week and I’m having fun training her. She’s a blue Merle.
Rio's eyes are beautiful. Love them. I have Gracie, a Tri-color, and OZZY a Blue Merle, tending to Red Merle on his rear flanks. We live on a Lake Dawn. Surrounded by The Olympic National Park

Just got a toy Aussie too in my recent vlog! Crate and potty training has been an absolute breeze. These dogs are so eager to please. Best decision ever! Congrats guys!

We got a toy Aussie during quarantine too! She was born in April 2020, and we got her in June... We just put a deposit down for the next litter and getting a second toy Aussie in Summer 2021. They are so dang cute!!

Well that is the cutest doggo I’ve ever seen! Since you’ve had him for a few months, how is the training going? I heard that Aussies are so intelligent that they need to be challenged mentally continually and training is one of the best ways. I want one but not sure it’s a good idea if I have no knowledge on how to train him.

We live in WA State and have one toy Aussie (7 months old), and have a deposit for a second next Summer... We found a breeder in Sequim :) They are so much fun!!!
