  • Documentary about Ray Harryhausen, produced around the release of Clash of the Titans, in 1982. Based around an interview with Harryhausen, the doc also features wonderful contributions from Ray Bradbury and Forrest J. Ackerman, among others.
This was recorded by me when the show was broadcast on Yorkshire TV, in the UK, presumably back in '82.
It was recorded on VHS - i long play - hence the relatively poor picture quality.
I am uploading this for its academic interest - I have never seen this doc anywhere else. If a better quality copy is available elsewhere - please let me know.
I do not own the copyright on this, and intend no copyright infringement. If you own the copyright and would like me to remove it - please say so, and I will take it down.

I was addicted to this doc when I was a kid. I used to make puppets whilst I watched it... the speech about 'never giving up your dreams' by Ray Bradbury really meant something to me then and I kept that in my mind. Today, I'm still a puppet maker. Thanks Ray H & Ray B

I definitely had this documentary on VHS, recorded off the telly. I used to scan the TV magazines each week to see if there were any special effects documentaries or Ray films on and I filled up tape after tape. I loved this one. I must have watched it ooodles of times. Mr Harryhausen, what an inspiration you were and always will be! Thank you!

One can never get enough about the Great Ray Harryhausen: single-handedly did the fantastic and magnificently dramatic creations for decades of wondrous productions.
    Only him.
    One man!
One incredibly brilliant, charming, humble man.
If it was a Ray Harryhausen movie, you knew you were in for a magical experience like nothing you'd ever seen before!
Creatures the pathos of which could make an audience weep.

In "Clash of the Titans", the scenes where Pegasus is featured were always my favorite. He did so well, and a vast improvement in his technique could be seen.
I'd forgotten about his centaur/griffin battle, but still thought Pegasus was the best.

I can't believe the a studio thought Valley of GWANGI was a flop!
I recall begging my parents to take me to see it, which we did .
the CLASH OF THE TITANS in my opinion the original out does the remake the Medusa scene of Harryhausen is edge of the seat material her slow methodical stalking opposed to the remake whacked on meth velocity she moved at
