    I had one just like this back in 94. Honestly, 51-54 MPG on the highway. 40 in the city. Reliable. Many, many impromptu weekend road trips to Las Vegas and San Francisco (from LA). Many great memories attached to this car. If they still made them, I'd still be driving one. The day I traded it off in 2000, it had 179,000 miles on the odometer, and I had the sniffles a little bit.

    I bought a Metro new in 94. In 2 years I put 210K miles on it. I had one problem under warranty, but other than that I Never had any issues with it.
    I had to drive from Salem, OR to Los Angles, CA and back once a week.
    Often I would be driving at 85mph, (bc it wouldn’t go faster than that).
    On 1 tank of gas, I got 80mpg. I had a strong tail wind. I filled up in Salem and it died as I was pulling into a gas station in Bakersfield, CA.
    I sold it in 96 and bought another Metro.
    I drove the 96 until 13, but that one only had 95K miles. My needs changed so I sold it.
    My 94 was a better car than the 96.

      Ya that i5 was a perfect run for that car. I’d go from Walla Walla to SE Pdx and get fuel at Biggs jct on the way back. They were champs, blown head gasket and easily repairable urself without needing to machine it back flat. Fuel economy began to dip after that but who cares. Never forget when I stuck a little Walmart Bluetooth only stereo in it for like 20 bucks and really changed the game 😂

      @@Newishrevolution1 Biggs Junction, where the wind Never Stops blowing.
      Every time I’ve ever had to drive to Columbia Gorge, I’d pray for a tail wind.
      Driving in a headwind in that gorge, I’d be in 3rd gear in my Metro on the floor just struggling to keep it at 50mph. Every other vehicle I’ve ever driven in a head wind through that gorge would kill my gas mileage by 40%.
      So that’s why I’d pray for a tail wind.

      @@Doc1855 somewhere between Wenatchee and okanagan im guessing? Cascade range is beautiful both on the ground and aerially that’s for sure. I used to deliver and pick up wood from lumber mills up there.

    Awesome!!! I used to have one of these back in the early 2000s. My Alabamian friends and I used to to pick up chicks and go to the movies. This is an awesome car. So many memories

    Is this car still for sale and do you have more pictures of the interior and what does xfi mean on a car

    • @AiOinc1
      @AiOinc1 ปีที่แล้ว

      XFi is the fuel economy option for this particular car. It nets you a lack of options (no radio/AC) and you get a detuned engine for fuel economy. All XFis have manual transmissions.

      This video is 5 years old man...if it was still for sale that would be a real bad car dealer...i dont get why car dealers put their cars on youtube and then dont delete it afterwards anyway...
