@@MeanderingMeganB I can’t help much with money right now, but I’ll be more than happy to help with supplies and such while you are in the Southeast. Looking forward to your reports from the AT.
Megan, you've doubled your subscribers in a week. Your positivity is as infectious as your smile! You've got the right stuff to complete the AT. My money is on you! All the best going forward!
I'd love to run into some wild hogs in the bush. Just to add to my list of wild things I've seen hiking. I know they're invasive and a major problem, but it'd still be cool. I got to peep a bobcat and some river otters on my trips last year in PA which was awesome. Good luck on the AT.
Congratulations on your first thru hike. So proud of you. Very nice of the gentleman to point out the area for you an you was so nice. Enjoyed the video an hikes. Looking forward to seeing you on the Appalachian Trail. Happy Hiking. 🤗🥾🥾🐾

What a beautiful trail and thank you for sharing your first thru hike. I hope your legs and feet feel better soon. God bless.

You were so happy at the end that I felt an urge to give you a big hug! (But I wouldn't, with social distancing and stuff.) I just love your enthusiasm and I'm looking forward to your AT hike!!
I am so happy for your accomplishment of thru-hiking the Foothills Trail. I could not stop smiling watching your infectious, happy attitude. I absolutely can't wait till you start the AT and watch you eventually touch the sign on Katahdin.

Aren't you just a joy to watch. I have loved watching your hikes through your positive lens. Every year I enjoy this time of year to watch all of the thru-hikers on the AT and PCT and you are without a doubt the person I'm looking forward to seen finish the AT in 2021! Best of luck in your hike and do be safe.
Yes, you are a thru-hiker now! Congratulations and well done! It's so good to see you enjoy your achievement and the beautiful area you have just walked through. I spent a good bit of my teenage years in those hills, and virtually everyone in my family has been on the top of Table Rock at least once -- for me, probably a score of times. I know you will be ready for your AT trip, and hopefully this will give you confidence. You know how to backpack, for sure. The rest is just being present and dealing with the highs and lows and everything in between.
Congratulations! So fun watching your journey. Appreciate the choices you made to stay safe like uploading after the trip. Look forward to your next adventure.

Thank you so much!! I didn't get her telling me I could stay in her house too!! She was the best, but I have to get better about accepting help. I was VERY grateful to her even for the ride!
@@MeanderingMeganB never stop trusting your gut...trusting and accepting help is a shortcoming of mine as well. I’ve considered accepting help as a sign of my weakness needing help. I’m trying to work through it. Being alone on the trail gives you perspective, the AT will afford you more social interactions to consider, but trust your gut always, it will keep you safe most of the time. Hope to meet you on the trail, or on an airplane to thank you in person for adding a little sunshine to my day for the last week!
So So So proud of you!!! You have every right to be emotional!!!! So excited to follow your AT hike!! i KNOW you CAN do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats to you, Megan! You worked hard and deserve this victory! It was a pleasure to watch you on this trail. You had to overcome a lot to get to the end. I have no doubt you can conquer the AT with that positive attitude and willingness to carry on and keep on fighting for it. Side note: I am hearing impaired and it would really help if you caption when someone is speaking so far from the camera/mic like the gentleman pointing out all the sights from Sassafras Mountain. I could not make out what he was saying at all, even with my headphones and the volume turned all the way up. I realize that may be nearly impossible when editing videos on the trail, but *if* it’s ever possible it’s a huge help to those of us with hearing impairments.
Great job! Ok, real talk - try the HOKA ONE ONE Women's Stinson ATR 6 Trail-Running Shoes. They are expensive but provide a lot of drop and cushion. It'll be way better for your feet, knees and hips
You are such a beautiful spirit... and it's a must you do a dance at the end of each vlog... your only issue on trail will be fighting thru the grind. Give yourself the grace of Hostel stays, a hot shower, and slack pack when offered. I loved the interaction with the old timer and the respect you gave him... not many young people today know how much you made the guys day having someone to talk to..
Thank you so much!! I agree, I've definitely be reading the books on mental strength (Appalachian Trials was the most recent) because I know that's something I will probably have to work through. I was raised to respect my elders and to be honest I just love talking with them. The stories they can tell and how passionate they are about what they choose to speak about really gets me. Anyways lol, thanks for watching!
@@MeanderingMeganB The hardest part of doing something like the AT is it's purely your choice. Nobody forces you to take on the challenge. That each day ends with a chance to quit and go home is the hardest thing. I think it will be a lot easier this year to enjoy a stop in town as the vaccines roll out more and more, schools open, and the weather allows people to get out and mingle, the underlying fear of the illness will soon be forgotten. It's been a rough year mentally for everyone. The trail can renew your soul, and faith in humanity. But it too is an opportunity for those wishing one harm. Always be aware of your surroundings, never hike alone, safety is always in numbers. Surround yourself with positive hikers and you are going to be able to complete the task. I think you got this based on your vloggs.
That squeek when you got to the top of sassafras was awsome. The feeling of getting done with something that seems impossible makes it that much better! Great video!
