- This is the third episode of the Project KegRocket video series, where we're building a real life liquid fueled rocket with fuel tanks made from beer kegs! This episode takes a high level look at the structural architecture that will launch our kegs into the sky. Sorry for the long delay... Real life got hands!

Another SLAMMER Mr Keg! Love the computer being called Designated Driver lmao
Thank you Mr. BPS[dot]space!!!
@@KegRocket do a co-op
Joey bizzel with another BANGER of a comment and also bepis space interns are cool!
Joey B moving to liquid fueled rockets?
First video watched on this rocket channel... see BPSspace's endorsement... subbed!
Kudos for letting aesthetics play a part - one area where "amateur" rocketry still has an advantage over anything commercial. I caught myself wondering whether the paint job was unnecessary mass, but then remembered that a really cool looking rocket going to 5,000m is better than a boring rocket going to 5,500m (or whatever the numbers are) if there's no greater goal.
You got it! Thats why the project is sorta fun.
the rule of cool!
oh we eating good tonight boys kegrocket dropped
Patiently awaiting more JPB
I'm a simple woman, I see a KegRocket video and I click
same! 😂
the anticipation between videos is killing me!
Same!
What how simple are you?
Much appreciated!
@@rudiger86 she's only made of a couple of elements
Designated Driver is the best possible name for the flight computer. So happy to see this take shape.
When it flies, I'll drink a nice cold one to celebrate.
Us too, thanks!
I love the mini highpower kegrocket in the background, it was my favorite rocket of the weekend at Nozzleween
It yearns for the next HNS event!
"Designated Driver" is the absolute best name for a FCS that you could have used.
It's an important job!
Pooch had that look in his/her eyes like.... "Am I the new Laika?" haha
Haha his name is Dezik, actually named after one of Laika’s successors!
@@KegRocket Oh goddamn.... lol, Nice.... Nice :D
G'damn this is the coolest project 🤩 So hyped to see this thing fly
(Also shoutout to that massive cactus collection!)
Thank you Mr. Taps!
🌵 🌵 🌵
I remember subscribing from your first video... I've only just seen you for the first time on my feed since then.
It's uplifting to see the progress you are making.
Thank you, and welcome back!
3:18 a man of culture, I see
Pipe 💯
Please don't restrict yourself to 10-15min videos, I'd be happy to watch a 30-60min video with more detail!
Definitely agree with this one. I'd happily sit an hour watching this project come to fruition 👌
Thanks for the feedback!
This. Shorter videos might do well with the algorithm, but I'd be over the moon if we got ten times more commentary on every detail glossed over in this video. Then again, an eleven-minute video is about eleven minutes more than we're entitled to, so no complaints here
especially if the videos are only going to be coming out every 3-6 months.
I love those spars, they look great and hopefully work well, too. I'm sure you know this already - if you need a bit more beam capacity, you can roll the edges of the lightening holes.
True!
I can't wait for the kegerator ISS project!
KegSat
Thanks for part 3 of the tutorial. It is easy to follow
Lol
Man, this is going great. And yes, definitely keep using the term "thrust waffle" 🤣
Will do!
Actually never thought someone will try making liquid fuel model rocket (at least I’ve never seen or heard about it), good luck with it!
KEGROCKET! Very cool that SendCutSend put together a Mk. 2 to show off their work.
Dude you’re such an engineer… you even included little pretensioner clamps. Dang looks awesome.
Keg Rocket it my favorite project on the internet right now and theres a lot of cool stuff happening on the internet right now.
There's some great stuff out there, so we appreciate it!
I was just thinking this past week that I hadn't seen an update in a while
You were correct!
I used to be a traveling tech for a beverage machinery company that made the machines that packages drinks (beer, soda, water, you name it). I quit after I got an offer from an aerospace company. So now I work on rockets. You’d probably not be that surprised, but there are a ton of similarities between the industries.
Anyways, beer and rockets are 2 of my favorite things in the world, so naturally I’m a huge fan of this idea.
Side note: I love that more and more people are getting into hobbyist rocketry. Can’t wait to see the engine and fuel system design!
Awesome story, I love the overlap between the two industries. Thanks for following along.
Engineering, Science, Humor, Education, great production quality (both in the rocket and the videos!)…just the best man - thanks Ryan!
Thank you!
It's all about the speed holes! 🍺🚀
A total necessity!
wake up babe, new PeakRocket video
Hamzaaa
cancel my meetings, new keg rocket video just dropped
The meetings can stay cancelled!
first sounding rocket contract
I like the payload ))
Us too :)
It was necessary
Thanks! A little something for the project - I can tell it will be put to good use! 🚀
That goes a long way, thank you!
Last week, I actually searched if part 3 was out already.
Almost!
I really love this prject, it is slowly prvoing that people can actually make liqiuid fuelled rockets without multi-million dollar equipment
Thanks. More possible than one might think!
wondering if using lox is gonna be an issue as its cryogenic so a little cooler than your average beer. was suprised didnt use nitrous and modify kits from cars.
The send cut send bit was so cool, I use them all the time for automotive stuff in the same way
Thrust waffle is my new favorite phrase!!
🧇
CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THE LAUNCH, and more updates. WHAT IS THE EXPECTED ALT. ???
Kegs are pretty heavy! About 18,000ft for the first flight.
Saw this was posted at the club launch yesterday and couldnt wait to watch this morning. Always a good day with a new keg boi video
Thanks, hope you enjoyed your club launch!
Project Keg-Rocket is Badass.
That is all
Appreciated!
Really looking forward to seeing the next episode!
I can't believe this series so far has so few views compared to the millions for various YT inanities. ANYWAY this whole idea is super inspiring. Before this is all over you'll either have a remarkable addition to your resume, or you'll be on a homeland security watchlist - probably both. Subscribed.
Keg rocket looks so beautiful
Thank you
Oh yeah the algorithm has blessed me tonight
Thank you for feeding the algo
YAY I was getting worried this had been given up on
Never!
Can't wait to see this thing fly keep up the good work 👍
Thanks!
The pre-tensioning method on the interstage struts / longerons was genius. Keg rocket might have beer containers as fuel tanks but that doesn't detract from the high level of engineering and design skill that is going int this, cant wait to see where this goes! (Hopefully upwards)
Thank you!
Great to see the amount of support, I cant wait to see this fly.
Indeed!
Always a nice day when one of these drop, I hope to see more soon!
We'll get some more stuff out!
Les goo another keg rocket vid!
🎉
Babe wake up kegrocket just dropped
🚀
Had to grab a beer before I hit play
🍻
Tbh I name the flight computers and programs on modded KSP all sorts of stuff, so the drinking themed name blew right past me until I read a comment about it 😅 Love the rocket, love the care y'all put into the video production! Keep it up!
Thanks!
You've got some elegant solutions to structural problems, it looks promising. The plumbing will be interesting.
Thanks, yes the plumbing will be a lot to cover!
A clever recycling of one of Humanity's favorite beverage containers.
It's a pretty great container for plenty of things
Finding another use for the most useful thing there is ,is admirable.
Haha thanks
This is just plain awesome and interestingly viable. I gotta see this beauty fly after all the juicy design and build stuff
Surprisingly viable! We'll see how it works.
Babe wake up. New KegRocket episode dropped
Long time coming!
Finally! Another video! This project is awesome!
It took some time, thank you!
wake up babe, new beer keg rocket video dropped

Rock-et Roll ! Cheers !
Cheers!
Man! It's so cool to have so many of my favorite youtubers all in the Seattle area!
Oh Yeah!!!!! 🚀🚀🚀
Awesome update Ryan! There is certainly a lot of great engineering that has gone into it. :)
“It’s not FOD if it’s delicious” 🐟🐠🐟🐠
You know how it is!
I LOVE KEG ROCKETTTTTTT AHHHH
Thank you!
hell yea so pumped been begging other prominent youtube channels like bps space to give you a poke to update the project! please do more content !PLEASE!
Thank you, been trying to squeeze in video stuff where possible
I love this project so much. I only wish videos were more frequent.
So exited for every update!!
awesome! super excited to see the engine!
Really excited to see the process and eventually see everything fly!
Us too, thanks!
Oh man, whenever one of your videos drops my day instantly becomes better.
Glad to hear it!
Brilliant video. I loved the expressed reasoning behind your design decisions.
Thank you!
That's some beautiful work there, looking forward to seeing this epic rocket fly. Well done to you, keep 'em coming!
Thank you!
So... sending the beer into outer space to keep it cold. Nice
The big fridge in the sky
Looking great.....
Up is GO! Cheers and you had me at Keg Rocket!!!
"interkeg section" is where I had to click the like....
Does what it says! Thanks
Keep up the good work
Thank you, much appreciated!
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing it with us
Nice progress! I already cant wait for the next update!!
Can't wait to see launch day!
Wake up. Peak TH-cam is back
There's so much great stuff out there!
Can your rocket serve me a beer?
From a very high altitude
@@KegRocket and the "beer" is a mixture of fuel and LOX..?
Can't wait for the next one, your videos are so good 😊👍
Really looking forward to the plumbing discussion. I haven't seen a downcomer from the upper tank. (:
It will be there!
Watched every episode so far. This is awesome, keep up the great work.
Who else feels inspired to make a soda can-sized replica? canrocket should be merch to support the kegrocket project, lol
As someone who spent 10 years in the beer industry, I heartily approve 😂🍻
Thank you!
This looks amazing!
🚀
i love this project.
Thanks for putting in all the effort to share this project. Really enjoying it.
It's quite a bit of effort so thanks for the feedback
Designated driver, love it XD
Excellent work!!
Thanks!
We are rooting for you at the old German club in New Orleans 😎
Amazing project, I almost forgot!!
Thanks!
Love it man.
Thank you
badass! I can't wait to see a video about the plumbing
Coming down the pipeline!
@@KegRocket sweet. Let me know if I can ever help machine a part for the project! I charge ya nothing as this project is just too cool
Pretty cool. Onwards and upwards!
🚀
Tremendous work! I love the old meme!
"Forces...are probably the number 1 cause of death for rockets"
MiniKegRocket got the joy of launching immediately prior to me learning that lesson the hard way
lets goo, new upload
🚀
Awesome!
