It's truly amazing that somebody could stay with a song that took well over 3 years and $11500 to write and record and didn't just say "Fuck this, I've had it." and ditch the entire damn thing. It's even more incredible that it ended up as the track it did.
Switchback has been one of my favorite songs over many years now, I even remember hearing it for the first time when I was like 14 years old. Thank you very much. :-)
Klayton, it's one thing to love your music but I love the dedication you have to your work. It really shows, thank-you for making such awesome material! :D
I'm going to try and listen for that extra note, though may have to watch this video again because i've forgotten what part it's in lol It's amazing that you stood by the track for that long and you put that much care and focus into it, you really go through a lot to do what you love. I'll remember that :)
Wow this song and you have been through alot. But really seeing and hearing what you've been through and how much you've sacrificed just to do what you love, I love that. ^-^ My personal true inspiration. ^-^
Listening to him since i was 12 years old. I'm 19 now and my respect for him is still growing. The story around the making of the song Switchback is just amazing!
Awesome stuff, this reveals the genius that is your music and why we love it so much. You are such a perfectionist and I now see why this is my all time favorite song of your: the fact that you had to slave over it for such a long time is the reason it's your best track. The stuff that doesn't make the final cut (beta cessions) is better than almost all other artist's final version of songs!!!
Wow. Just know that a bunch of your fans including me may never had found you without switchback. Just goes to show that all your hard work is not for nothing. Switchback(2003) was my first Celldweller Track. Switchback (Klayton Revision) was my 2nd track.
You are. Well not entirely, but still... You see, Klayton being a musical genius has a different type of thinking. He loves making music, but the moment he's done with it, he kinda hates it and wants to move on to something new. He is just in denial of how awesome he is. Luckily, we are here to fix that!
I think it's more that he loves what he does so much, that he's willing to stick it out, even if one song is causing him massive amounts of ballache to get right.
I respect Klaytons Journey. Fact is sadly he took the wrong way and is now no human being. Become Demons and become dehumanized, you got no idea what kind of eternity waits for you fools. He cant switchback! You luckily are before the point of no return.
Klayton when making switchback: continually making choices that he regrets
Now what i say. is what i get!
11 years later: it's too late to look back
I wonder if he wrote Switchback about his frustrations writing Switchback.
Switchback is that itch that doesn't go away no matter how hard you scratch it.
But the result is amazing, almost 20 years later it still an absolute banger.

Switchback is truly epic! Even that 10k $ dollar mix is awesome

I began to listen to him after hearing My Own Little World, among other songs, in Dead Rising 2. That was when I was twelve, currently I am 17 :)
it's cool you can still remix his stems

You're a awesome role model :3
Still waiting for the riff of the year
more songs like memories of a girl I haven't met please !
Might've been a difficult song to make but my god, it is so fucking perfect.
Klayton today will hate the Klayton of Yesterday.
"I need 13k more dollars. Ooh"
Hero story
klayton is epicness
Damn, first time I've heard someone mention "ReBirth" in yeeeeeeaaars.
Same here dude!
"I need $13,000 more dollars.", Other guy: "For what?", Klayton: "I owe him a lot, I have an addiction.... have you heard of Reeses Puffs?"
Switchback was worth $10,000+ in 2001! OMG, that is some huge amount of time and money invested in there!
In 2022 now Switchback mixing costs (with inflation) are possibly $16.023 in today's money.
*serious guy*
I wish he kept the chorus from (Detroit 2000 ) version ... or put it as a last chorus it would have created some progression in the song ...
By a pubic hair LMFAO
I think he really meant he was having a dreadful time making Switchback.
Eargasm.

02:47 plz help, i can't hear, he says that the album version sucks too?
Half-sucked
What does he say at 08:02? I couldn't catch it
"...the version that I gave them did not even end up landing", I think.
what's the song at 7:00 ?
If he hates what he does, why does it do it? Maybe I'm taking what he is saying out of context...
I think it's more that he loves what he does so much, that he's willing to stick it out, even if one song is causing him massive amounts of ballache to get right.
