Featuring custom filmed & edited video synchronized to every last second of of the continuous hour-long set, the Celldweller tour blew the doors off the standard concept of a live show. Now you can share the experience with Live Upon A Blackstar! This live DVD/Blu-Ray features footage taken in the US, Russia, Canada, and Japan, and has region free, NTSC 1080p HD video and a 5.1 Surround Sound mix. Live Upon A Blackstar is the definitive document of the 2010/2011 tour and captures a unique era of the live Celldweller show, which will expand and mutate into new experiences as time goes by. Live Upon A Blackstar features eleven songs from Wish Upon A Blackstar, Soundtrack for the Voices in My Head, and the self-titled debut, all revamped, remixed, and mashed up for an exclusive live experience. By your request, we've also included the full backing videos that were projected during the live performance in all of their High Definition glory.

@@chucyfull I mean it's explained he doesn't like touring in general and considers himself a studio artist which is fine, but also in the documentary he made during this tour there were so many technical issues it has put him off touring for life, I don't blame him he was using Ableton live but a really old version that was unstable and crashed all the time plus timing his entire set and using midi keyboards that are set to automatically change using Ableton live it's gonna be a massive pain in the ass
TL;DR he will never tour again because he's a studio artist and it's a lot of effort
@@ifieldyy3773 It get that. I've been a massive celldweller fan since I was 15. Give it another month and I'll be 32. Klayton was one of my inspirations to start making music on my own and that's what I did.
Not saying that I've made anything great (I haven't).
But even with a software like Reaper (something that costs very little) you can set things up like this. and it doesn't seem to require a lot of time either. "A recorded part will play here, A midi part that I can manipulate will play here and I can play live there at this part. Not saying it doesn't have problems and It's probably safe to say that their lighting is playing based on midi too.
You will always run into problems but it doesn't change the fact that life is always full of those too. Taking touring off of the books may not seem like it hurts, but some people just prefer being there live.

Same. I was introduced to his music only last year, and Satellites has so far been amazing (even though I'm not too much into most of the remixes for it), and when he started showing off footage from the shows a decade(ish) ago, seemed like foreshadowing to me.
@@Marshall_Francies He may also be aware that if he posts them on youtube, thats some good money right there cause channels that have got thousands of views. But if he does set up a tour after satellites, id do anything to go.

Here in the UK, I come from a generation that brought us Duran Duran, Howard Jones, Ultravox among many other geat acts. The 90s moved into more of a dance phase in one genre and rock/metal in another. With pop being phased out, I found myself somewhere in the middle. In places some bands would fuse all of this into one thing, but it wasn't until more recent years I noticed cool advancements in sound and styles that crossed and fused, in things such as The Matrix soundtracks where I began to find my favourite sound, then in more recent years bands like Pendulum were what I'd been looking for all these years. Celldweller and Scandroid have taken this all to another level. Such a beautifully produced product and fresh and exciting, which I haven't experienced in many years when listening to much of the music in the charts. This really is on another level. I wonder if there's an awareness of this act over here.
I think Scandroid got some attention during the synthwave revival a few years back (here in the UK), and I would imagine the odd Celldweller track was played at say, Slimelight or something :) I really want a club where they still play this stuff on a regular basis. These days it's all house and RnB. Sniff.

This event was awesome. I caught the show in Louisville, Ky USA. It was great! So awesome to be close enough to almost touch your keyboard yet have nobody in the crowd do any harm. Hope some day you will tour again. Love and Light to you and yours!💛❣

Ursa Minor must be one of the coolest performances ever, I could watch it over and over. And yes, they may have fallen out now but man, what a team.
Was able to see celldweller live back in 2004 ish at the machine shop in flint Michigan. Have been a huge fan ever since.

This has got to be one of the best shows ever performed. The songs blending is seamless, the energy is invigorating just watching, I couldn't imagine having been there. Incredible!

I just saw this for my first time the other day, and it was AWESOME !!
I saw Klayton for my first time back in 01/04, during the 1st album tour in a dive bar.
But, that didn't matter to me: being able to see a Klayton show live mattered.
Heck, been a fan since like, '97 or '98...haven't had another chance since. But that doesn't change the fact that:
A. I'll ALWAYS be a fan. And;
B. I'll always do what I can to spread the music ( I had a friend in Vietnam who I got turned on to Klayton, and her friends. She even told me he'd sell out, if he did a show there).
Another Show like this would be priceless!

to thisn day i think the through the gates intro with the tom- solo at the start and then the synth- duet is probably one of the greatest starts to a show ive ever seen and will ever see.

Celldweller is one of my favourite bands of all time and I only knew of him initially because of a Vampire Diaries promo.

Originally when Klayton started uploading stuff from the LUAB tours, the first thought in my head was that it was foreshadowing for future concerts possibly (or at least for me since I only discovered his music last year). As for Bret, if he joins him again, maybe but idk.
