Two Queen hives mean more honey and less swarm risk

Thor Håkon Føreland came to visit Ireland last April. Thor is from the South of Norway, about an hour from Kristiansand. Thor is the current Chairman of the Society of Norweigan Beekeepers. Beekeepers work closely with agriculture in Norway helping to pollinate crops such as strawberries.
In this video talk, Thor talks about the merits of the European Brown Bee, when working in cooler climates like Scandinavia. He talks about his system which is mainly a vertical 2 queen hive set-up. Thor grafts new queens for his hives. he has an emphasis on good comb building and queens that are good for avoiding chalk brood.
the big advantage of the 2 queen hive is that it can really take advantage of the Heather flow. most of Thors honey is Heather honey.
