I have only played 4 games so far with my buddy and each game, as we got more familiar with the decks, has become quite intensely close matched. My two decks: Professor J Chronocode (Brobnar, Dis, Mars) and Heroine of Bloodworld (Dis, Logos, Sanctum). If we consider the decks in a MTG setting it feels like Prof is an aggro deck and Heroine is a Esper Control:P
Nice observations! I have definitely seen different archetypes as I have been playing the game, but most decks I own feel midrange to me. Glad you are enjoying this awesome game!
Great video man! Look forward to seeing more of your content. Can you talk about horseman at all and if they are actually as powerful as people think? I saw that people had offered a guy $200 or more for his 4 horseman deck and that just seems absurd to me this early on.
Hey Jordan, I did see that horseman deck as well. I didn't do an in-depth evaluation on it but it seemed EXTREMELY strong. In addition to the horseman, it also has Library Acess (w/ Phase Shift, Wild Wormhole, 2x Library of Babble to support), 2x Batdrone, Blinding Light, good Sanctum creatures, and a really strong Brobnar pool with multiple rares. I presume the cost was also inflated due to the fact that the best deck on TableTop Simulator features the horsemen suite as well. I think this is an S tier deck and is easily worth $100+, but ultimately it will depend on how the meta shakes out whether the guy made a good investment.

Hey Kad thanks for the input! You can definitely find good spots for those "do nothing" cards and get use out of them. I just find narrow cards to be less than optimal in most decks. Hi mate i only gwt 1 deck for now and im feeling it a litle weak in my local community can u grade it pls. The deck is Ship Diffwhu from the Paniter's Maelstrom it is uploaded on the vault app.Thank you
You say Lost In The Woods is very situational but can you explain why you think this? The card can be played regardless of what's in play at the time you use it so it's an effective mini wipe on your opponents creatures especially if you have nothing in play at the time and you get the amber for playing it so i'm not sure what's not to like? Thanks
Hey Greeple great question! I probably was a little harsh on it since I lumped it in with some other cards while talking about it. It certainly is very good when I don't have any creatures on board. However, since I only have 11 total in the deck, it is usually bad to be trading resources evenly if I have creatures on board as I am less likely to draw more threats. Also, if the quality of my creatures is better than the quality of my opponents' creatures it is objectively bad. I disagree that is can be played regardless of what's in play since sometimes it can be bad for you. Hope this clears my reasoning up!
I can definitely work on that! I can for sure do commons and uncommon but rares and above are hard to evaluate since I don't have much experience with them. I know others have worked on this as well you might find more resources on the Keyforge subreddit!
I'm just wondering if either of my decks are good, they are The Damned Devil of Ludhell and The Tranquil Symbiote of Kvensund. They are both uploaded and my username is batDrone. Thanks!
1) cool username 2) cool deck name 3) The first deck seems medium but definitely playable. Got a board wipe and a decent creature pool with some interesting aember interaction. The second deck, unfortunately, looks like a pile of doo doo unless I am missing something. Not nearly enough creatures and a lot of worthless artifacts. Don't have time now for an in-depth analysis but hope that works!
@@jacksongamsby3575 Hey JC just looked at it and tbh it looks average to me, but like I said I don't have experience with decks of this type so take that with a grain of salt. I would love to try the deck though. It seems if you get ahead on board, it would be pretty easy to control your opponents side with your big Brobnar and Dis creatures. A weakness of the deck is you don't really have a lot of removal or aember interaction, but like I said if you can play a control-minded game you could have some success!
I find "Lost in the woods" to be an amazing removal card more so when having no board which this deck will likely have often. But yeah double hallowed blaster is a yikes, and you have no amazing regrowth combos with only one witch, but it helps the deck cycle more creatures. Overall, I agree with your rating, I find that untamed kit and the double Hallowed Blaster is what really made the deck a 2/5
Great analysis. Since playing more games, Lost in the woods has performed better than I presumed it would. I still feel like I am at an experience advantage most games, so the deck isnt being pushed that hard. I am glad you agree with my rating!
Good vid!..one of my decks is unfortunately a broken deck. It's a Mars, Brobnar, and Shadows and out of 8 games using it I've only won once. I've used it against 3 different people including my wife and it still gets destroyed. Mars decks equal a big thumbs down.
Hi Kevbot. I’ve watched several of your videos and find them very helpful in learning KeyForge :) I was wondering if you would take a look at my deck and give me an honest opinion. The name is Tidebreaker Wenton Bizdregs.
Hey Logan first off super grateful for the support. Im really glad they are helping :). I just took a quick look. I actually quite like this list. But just bc I like it doesn't mean its good. Good: Library Acess + Labwork + Phase Shift is sick. Effervescent Principle is very synergistic here. 2x Quixo and Anomal Exploiter are decent. Phosphorous Stars is super. Decent mars creature pool. Ghostly Hand, Misama, Old Bruno, Dodger, Miasma, Duskrunner are all good. Bad: 14 Creatures is pretty low. 2x Rocket boots with not much logos creatures. Speed Sigil and Ammonia Clouds seem bad in this lineup. Like zero threats creature wise, only a couple in Mars. If you pop off with LA you probably win, if not you will probably struggle to keep up with aember generation. But you probably have just enough steal + capture to have a game with most decks. 3/5 I'd say right at average. Def playable especially if you like Library Acess!

And half of the cards in mars need mars creatures to work like Red Planet Ray Gun, Swap Widget (useless), 3x Squawker (can use only the stun), 2 x Psychic Network (can steal only 1 and only if u have ur unique creature in play), Mothership Support (can do only 2 damage and only if u have ur unique creature in play). that is the fist deck that i opened, got realy frustrated, but now i found a playable deck
Nice observation! More can certainly be better. I used 14-18 since that the average number for decks I have been having success with. Intuitively it seems like a good thing, provided the creatures are of decent quality. I have yet to play with a deck that has more than 22 so I can't really speak on its performance.
18 creatures is half the deck.I find that my 18 creature deck typically does better than my 14 creature deck. I think it is interesting to note also that one of my decks has 4 rares and the other only 2:p
My initial impression is that Creatures don't stay on the battleline for very long so I'm only interested in those that have Static effects, Play effects or Destroyed Effects. My assumption is that if I play a Creature that is good at Fighting or Reaping, my opponent will kill it before it gets a chance to do those things or at least before it gets to Fight/Reap more than once. The decks I have seen have a fair amount of Creature removal on-top of nearly every Creature being able to act as Creature removal. Playing only Creatures that you don't care about surviving also nullifies all your opponent's Creature removal and makes board wipes one-sided.
Great insight Thomas. One of my ideas surrounding this game is the notion of a threat, which is a creature that has a static effect that your OP must deal with. You are totally correct and those are the best types of creatures, but obviously, you can't have all perfect creatures in every deck. One point about reap/fight effect: if your opponent is having to use resources on those cards, they are likely taking a nonoptimal turn for their own aember generation and card deployment. The easy example is they give up the opportunity to reap with their card to fight one of yours. Some of the strongest effects come with reaping, so I would not discount these cards!
