Egg yolks don’t freeze too well and can dry out after a day in the fridge alone. The best way to store them is by mixing them with a bit of water first (you can probably keep the yolks whole in the water if you are careful and simply remove them whole when ready to use), before putting them into a covered container in the fridge. They’ll keep for 2-3 days this way.
Whipping egg whites into stiff peaks can be temperamental. There are a couple of things you HAVE to remember... always use a clean bowl and whisk (clean, grease, water and dust free), make sure the eggs are at room temperature (they whisk a lot better than when cold) and yes, humidity might have something to do with it. It's not something I've ever experimented with... but a few drops of water getting into the bowl as you whisk affects it... so water in the atmosphere might do too.
I remembered these from 9 years ago when I made them because it's 10pm and my pantry is very empty but I have a big sweet tooth... so yes I did go back years just to find this (I also taught some kids I nannied this recipie years ago!!)
I tried this recipe out today!! I just replaced the coconut with oats and used Nesquik instead of cocoa powder. I added sugar to taste since the Nesquik has some sugar already. I stuffed a couple of them with peanut butter and others with marshmallows!! They were very delicious!!
Hey! Found you guys a month back and started baking for the first time! Turned out awesome. YUM!! Have you tried the savory version of lassi called "chass". It follows the same principles, just blend one part yogurt with 2-3 parts water (depending on how thick you want it) and salt to taste, a pinch of roasted cumin powder and a pinch of sugar. Finish with finally chopped coriander, mint, curry leaves, green chilies (optional) and a squeeze of lemon.
Saw this on site few hours ago! Definitely wanna give the chewies a try! Was the desicated coconut already sweetened? Because i only have that stuff right now
Yay for gluten-free! Lovely recipe, guys, as usual. I'm addicted to cooking videos, but never end up making any of it, mainly because of gluten, dairy and sugar overload. So far, I've tried 3 of your recipes (all from Feel Good Food) and love each and every one of them so much they've become house hold favourites already! Keep it up
I love to use a bit of turmeric and ginger along with the cardamom when I make a mango lassi. The turmeric adds color and is actually really good with the mango.
My mom makes similar cookies but they're no bake cookies. It's some chocolate sauce and coconut and it sets in the fridge. I love them in the summer because they're a cookie but they're cold.
Nice combination of lassi and coconut biscuits with a touch of chocolate. Lassi is one of the favourite drink in India. Nice to see u cooking the Indian recipes
lassi is amazing. here in malaysia, the most famous flavours are the mango, plain and a salty one. the latter is definitely a bit weird but once you get used to it, it's a must have with your chappati or banana leaf rice.
Have a nice day. I express the admiration of your recipes, it is very tasty, simply and beautifully! ! There was a wish to ask one question... What for music plays in your videos at the background?
This chocolate chews are a great method to use up any leftover egg whites ^^ The next time when I bake, I'll try this recipe. And they are more appealing than just plain meringue :)
just made both of these today! my dad loved that I finally made something gluten free that doesn't taste like cardboard xD and it was really easy to make! thanks for the awesome recipe!
for gluten free people, if you use "rice flour" and "tapioca flour" (its the same as corn startch but the corn used for cornstarch is probubly gmo corn) mix, it will be as close to regular flour as you can probubly ever get wile being gluten free
Proper lussi is made with yoghurt sugar or salt with milk and your choice of fruits it can be made sweet or salty served with currys or you can have it as a cool off drink in the summer
My mom adds vanilla custard powder, pinch of cardamom powder and any fruit extract to yogurt sugar and water... and then top it with loads of chopped nuts and khoa, you should try this too ... :D
Of course! Already have i'm a great fan of you guys ;). Ben is really making me interested in a career in cooking and restaurant business! Hope you guys get a restaurant some day, so I can visit you guys!
It all depents on wether you can eat oats or not. If yes, then mix one banana and a good two hands full of oat flakes and mash them up (the best way is to use your hands) You can form cookies and bake those and you're finished. You might also want to try to add stuff like cocoa or nuts, raisins, dried cranberries?? the possibilities are endless ;)
Ill try this very soon. Thanks much. Ah~ Did ur chocolate cake in mug, and it was fantastic! Perfect alternative food for breakfast or snacks. Fast and easy.
There`s a recipe for chocolate macadamia muffins on the Sorted website, that`s gluten free, dairy free, and processed sugar free, and they`re really good (and addictive). You can also try replacing regular milk with lactosefree milk or soymilk. Sugar can often be replaced by honey, so knowing that, you can make a lot of the Sorted recipes fit your diet without special recipes =)
Caster Sugar is just grounded sugar so that it's super fine. They're still the same ingredient but one is finely granulated while the other isn't. Hope that makes sense
I Love Love Love Lassis'. Question: My personal favorite as probably a lot of other people is the mango lassi, so will this recipe turn out all right if you sub in the mango for the banana?
Egg yolks don’t freeze too well and can dry out after a day in the fridge alone. The best way to store them is by mixing them with a bit of water first (you can probably keep the yolks whole in the water if you are careful and simply remove them whole when ready to use), before putting them into a covered container in the fridge. You can, just chop it up nice and small or blend it up to help get the right texture.
It's key for structure, texture and flavour, but you can try substituting with chopped nuts!
Yep... soft fruits are best. Mango or strawberry make a great lassi
Coconut is key for structure, texture and flavour ... but sure why not have a go with oats! Hope it works out well!
Whipping egg whites into stiff peaks can be temperamental. You can substitute it for chopped nuts (any kind). It may just change the texture slightly though.
Of course! Mango Lassi is a very popular option!
Thanks for the suggestion, we'll add it to our list of requests (you're not the only one to ask for hash browns ;-). Glad the biscotti went down well!
You could try substituting them for chopped nuts. The texture will be a little different but it should still work alright.
I remembered these from 9 years ago when I made them because it's 10pm and my pantry is very empty but I have a big sweet tooth... so yes I did go back years just to find this (I also taught some kids I nannied this recipie years ago!!)
We're not sure. It could affect the egg. We would recommend using caster sugar to dissolve into the egg white.
Wow - not heard of that one... sounds great though.
It's finer than granulated sugar. You could use granulated if you can't find caster sugar.
We'll do our best and add it to our list of requests!
Try searching for "healthy smoothie sorted" - you should find what you're after.
Desiccated coconut is ideal, but chopped nuts might be better than ground almonds for a better texture.
Yes you could!
Jamie! You're so much more polished as a guest these days. I love it
Coconut is needed for flavour, structure and texture in this dish, but you could try chopped nuts instead!
How about our Chocolate Polenta Cake? You can look it up on our website and hopefully it should help!
Yeah, that should work! Let us know how you get on!
I tried this recipe out today!! I just replaced the coconut with oats and used Nesquik instead of cocoa powder. I added sugar to taste since the Nesquik has some sugar already. I stuffed a couple of them with peanut butter and others with marshmallows!! They were very delicious!!
Try looking up our Vegan Falafel Balls recipe on the website ... hopefully you'll like them!
We've done Chocolate & Pear Pavlovas, which is pretty close?
We'll do our best, but in the meantime check out our Ice Cream Sandwich or Eton Mess Ice Cream recipes on the Sorted website!
You could, but might want to add rosewater or vanilla essence to give them a bit of flavour.

Thank you for brining back a Desi drink on table! the biscuits made by (my sister following your recipe of course) were amazing! Thanx again!!!!!!
I love to use a bit of turmeric and ginger along with the cardamom when I make a mango lassi. The turmeric adds color and is actually really good with the mango.
It's on our request list! Fingers crossed!
You should find desiccated coconut easily in supermarkets. Enjoy!
I'd love to see your guys' take on some classic cocktails or nice summer drinks like a gin tonic.
My mom makes similar cookies but they're no bake cookies. It's some chocolate sauce and coconut and it sets in the fridge. I love them in the summer because they're a cookie but they're cold.
I loveeeeee you guys' recipes! Especially the ones that don't require an oven to use :)
I absolutely love lassi! We always use ice in ours, it's better than water or at least I think so
Why not try looking up our Tupper Salads video?! Great lunch box options!

We used natural yoghurt for the lassi

This chocolate chews are a great method to use up any leftover egg whites ^^

The chocolate chews are lactose free as well! I'm away to make them the now. Thanks sorted!
Lassi is delicious! I had mango lassi the other day. :) Need to get myself a blender or something.
I just made the banana lassi. So good! The cardamom was expensive though!

I am a huge fan of Flan and I wanted a simple recipe, so Sorted can you please do a recipe on classic Flan. Please :D
can't wait to try this recipe out! yes, pls share more drink recipes :)
It's there for flavour so if you leave it out it'll still work... but it could do with something. Perhaps cinnamon?
