Can I suggest a simple twist to these kind of recipe challenges? Include some sporadic common mistakes in the recipes and see if the boys can pick it up. They either get it right, or screw the dish up. And Ben has to eat the dish regardless of screwed up or not. It would be quite educational for us amateur chef-wannabe viewers too, to learn what mistakes not to make while cooking

this is an amazing idea!! and reminds me of this: one time, one of Jamie Oliver's tart recipes (i guess) on his website had a typo. it said something like 12 lemons instead of 2 lemons, which made a DRASTIC difference as you can imagine. and people, had SO MUCH trust in Jamie Oliver that they actually went and put 10+ lemon in their creation and... well... you can imagine the results :D i wonder how much these guys trust their chefy friends lol XD edit: it was a pasta recipe apparently which right now has been changed from 13 to 3 lemons as needed

You should do a five ingredient challenge where all of you get the same 5 ingredients and see who can make the beat dish you can use other ingredients but whatever you make must have he base 5.
@@Maghanashi cereal bowls, microwave and a toaster, plus one crunchy grill/oven pan with wire rack that hasnt been cleaned out between pizzas. Although they could get one of those off to uni kitchen kits. i think they are about £50 for a full 9ish) batch of the flimsiest pans. I got a set to kit out a camper van, as all the equipment was 3/4 size from normal. Felt like kids toys
I was thinking just the same. The background music is so much louder than the speaking. It can be a bit bad but today's video was a lot worse than normal. I don't like to be a complainer, but being hard of hearing life's already difficult enough without having to strain to hear talking on a sorted video :'(((((

I don't think it was panic. I assume it was a HGV but there was a horn and there's a song that starts with a horn followed by a tune that Mike was vocalising. I think it's Vengaboys but I'm not certain! EDIT: I googled it and it's Vengaboys - We like to party!
Interesting idea: have the three choose a desert dish to make, and declare it beforehand. Then add a modifier, randomly drawn from a hat or such, that the recipe has to made in the style of. For example, if one said "cheesecake" and got a modifier "hamburger," they would need to make a cheesecake in the style of a hamburger.
This is still one of my favourite Sorted videos of all time. Mike's cry of agony as the merengue comes sloping out the pipping bag never fails to make me laugh.

I’d love to see a blind taste test battle where Barry, Mike, and Jamie make the same recipe (that has some wiggle room for creativity - like the design on the pie crust, presentation style, etc.) and Ben and James and a few others have to determine who made which dish.

I've got a suggestion.. In France, the tv show «le meilleur pâtissier» showcasts normals making pastries in a competition. One of the jury gives them each week a tricky recipe : some elements are missing (like the recipe of the friosting for example) or are to be deduced (how they should do it / a trick so that the cake sets)... It's interesting because it is always unknown cakes : from other countries or times ! If you are interested, I could try to translate to you one of the blanked recipes :) Bisous de France 😊

I think he might not be so good at normal cooking challenges, but since he is always hard-pressed for a challenge (mostly created by himself), he can think his way out and not panic.

I just recently was introduced to the Fridgecam/SORTEDfood videos and I have been obsessively watching ALL THE VIDEOS for hours. I kept thinking that they reminded me of something else that makes me so happy, something else very British ... but what is it ... finally I realized: "Wallace and Gromit". Please, please, whatever deity may be watching over this plane of existence ... let Aardman Animation make a claymation version of the show - I want to see claymation James, Ben, Jamie, Mike and Barry in a claymation kitchen, cooking claymation food ... it would be so perfect.
I think that everyone did well... but that Jamie's results were better... only because he adjusted his to suit the time limit and was able to actually pipe his meringue properly. I do get a kick out of the antics that goes on in that little kitchen!
I picked Jamie's tart prior to the judgment call. Friends watching this with me disagreed. I put down five dollars American, and I walked away with 15 dollars! Thank you, Jamie! On another note, you guys should come to America are a couple of times, but I don't believe that you have been to Boston, Massachusetts. We have very fine chefs and restaurants throughout the area, especially in the section known as the South End. One of the streets has been nicknamed "Restaurant Row". South Boston has extraordinary and old restaurants. In the Faneuil Hall area we have the oldest existing restaurant in the United States, the Union Oyster House. Then there is our famous North End, boston's Italian neighborhood. The cuisine in this section of town is to die for! We also have an Asian district that is still called Chinatown. Wonderful regional food from all over China is served here in the better restaurants. Please come and showcase my city! PS: I live in Quincy, Massachusetts now, but it's just a short distance away from Boston.

Please, please, whatever deity may be watching over this plane of existence ... let Aardman Animation make a claymation version of the show - I want to see claymation James, Ben, Jamie, Mike and Barry in a claymation kitchen, cooking claymation food ... it would be so perfect.
I think that everyone did well... but that Jamie's results were better... only because he adjusted his to suit the time limit and was able to actually pipe his meringue properly. I do get a kick out of the antics that goes on in that little kitchen!

I picked Jamie's tart prior to the judgment call. Friends watching this with me disagreed. I put down five dollars American, and I walked away with 15 dollars! Thank you, Jamie! On another note, you guys should come to America are a couple of times, but I don't believe that you have been to Boston, Massachusetts. We have very fine chefs and restaurants throughout the area, especially in the section known as the South End. One of the streets has been nicknamed "Restaurant Row". South Boston has extraordinary and old restaurants. In the Faneuil Hall area we have the oldest existing restaurant in the United States, the Union Oyster House. Then there is our famous North End, boston's Italian neighborhood. The cuisine in this section of town is to die for! We also have an Asian district that is still called Chinatown. Wonderful regional food from all over China is served here in the better restaurants. Please come and showcase my city! PS: I live in Quincy, Massachusetts now, but it's just a short distance away from Boston.
