One thing I noticed when playing with you and watching video is you seem more willing to give up ground compared to other players, which give you more room to deal with specialists and intercept flanking spawns.
That's what drives me crazy about most players (friends and randos included). They don't know when to give up space and instead just stand there and feed their brains out.
It is always wise to retreat if you are surrounded or about to be overwhelmed. Fight the enemy on your terms. I’m sure Sun Tzu said something to the effect
Saw your content posted on the Darktide launcher! I followed after I played a random quickplay with you once- definitely carried the team. Capital team-mate, would party again. Keep up the good gameplay, hoping you get a sub bump from the fatshark nod
I'd love to get your Zealot build. In general, I play similar, revolver and chainsword, lots of movements, headshots, but I can't get to grip with the hammer. It's too slow, but it's so much more effective against the big boys, compared to the chainsword (dont like other weapons, and spammy W+M1 builds). Also, still amazes me why 90% of the players I encounter don't take cover better, or position themselves in Maelstrom. They either faceroll forward, or stay in the open meleeing hordes. It doesn't play like regular Damnation, I wish people would get the basic mechanics in their heads.
Im excited about this game on xbox finally but at the same time im a noob and this will be my first tide game. I have been taking notes and organizing them for a year and at this point I just want to know what the game feels like and to put all my notes to good use. I definitely cant go into a game like this blind.
I notice you run the heavy axe in a lot of your Veteran builds. As someone who has never run a heavy axe on a Veteran before, why do YOU like running it? Does it handle hordes ok, or do you rely on grenades and teammates for hordes? Also, do you like running Reload Speed on any weapons, especially the Rumbler and the Kickback?
While not the person you were asking, I can tell you about the axe. Combat Axes are really strong right now, in particular the Rashad one, and it's mostly thanks to the Brutal Momentum blessing (ignore enemy hit mass for X seconds on weak spot kill). Combat Axes have some of the highest base dmg amongst melee weapons, and the ability to cleave through all targets is insanely powerful thanks to that. The Rashad (the one they use) specifically is the best for this as it's light attacks have wide sweeps which are great for cleaving hordes with Brutal Momentum up (usually paired with Decimator) while still hitting heavy enough to kill even tankier enemies, and it retains the strike down heavy attacks for dealing with armor. Antax is good too, the only one that isn't good with Brutal Momentum is the Achlys, as both it's lights and heavies are strike down.
@TetramentTea Oooookay. So, do you have to go for a weak spot kill before you start cleaving, or does it automatically proc with normal attacks? I assume it can proc normally with good aim, but do you try to set it up first or just let it happen?
@@lukemartineau490 Nah you don't have to try set it up in any way. Just light attacks are fine, if you don't aim for the body on purpose you're almost guaranteed to get a weak spot kill with a combat axe. Just light attack spam against a horde and you're golden.
I'm so excited for the October Xbox release... I've waited so long. lol I know it's probably still not going to be in a perfect state when I get my hands on it, but I've been eagerly waiting to play this.
Does Ogryn get access to a melee weapon besides the knife/machete? Feel like the big character should be able to wield something beefy like an axe or maul
its weird tho how the elite enemies keep coming essentially one by one, and there arent random hordes that trigger which always happens after a certain amount of time forcing players to either kill fast and rush revives or hunker down and clear first before reviving
how do you backwards slide like you did in that first clip, you litteraly managed to walk at a sniper without even looking at him and still took no damage
Just curious, is darktide worth the money yet? I really want to play it, coming from a vermintide background but I heard the gacha system they have in place
40:31 wtf that hit with the thunder hammer did 95% damage on the chaos spawn and likewise with the plague ogryn it like one hit with the hammer almost killed it completly and on damnation with malestrom modifiers on!? What build is that hammer and class, like being able to one hit an chaos spawn almost seems too op
It’s a standard Headtaker Thrust Ironhelm hammer. It nearly one shots because the monsters are weakened from the modifier. A Crucis can still 3-4 shot most monsters with full hp though if you crit headshot.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with the skill tree rework in October.

This is a cheese techniques we used long ago in first Killing Floor and games alike, bigger the map - better

Amazing gameplay as always.
The thunder hammer 2shots against the chaos spawn and 1shot against mutes were ASMR stuff.
Glad to see I’m not the only dummy that whiffs his big thunder hammer hits. Great gameplay as always. Love the vids.
when you got hit by the poxhound in first clip and then the tox flamers saved you i was dying. Incredible content

...brother, you never cease to amaze me. Incredible play.
Hell of an opening stand. Impressively played, as always.
You're such a beast, it's crazy. Nearly an hour of pure perfection.
Auric has breathed fun into the game again for me. damnation got too easy when you got the gear and learned how to move
6:20 "KarenTheCustomer" zealot's name made my day. The hairstyle fits too lmao

Can’t wait to finally play this on Xbox game pass next week, been excited for this game for awhile
Great gameplay! what Sword were you using with your psyker?

7:02 boom, weeeee! lol
your game runs so smooth
Choco has RTX 3070 according to stream info. I have 3060 myself and it runs pretty good but can drop to 40fps at huge hordes :(

as of now, i'd say it probably is.
however, it'll most *definitely* be worth it once skill trees (class variations) come out this october.
Dam u so good, bless u imperator
What are the stats and blessings on your braced autogun?
I'm finally able to play this and honestly the only thing I'm hoping for is variations with the classes or maybe even new ones
We’re getting full skill trees in October, complete with new active skills.
