Was always supporting Gukesh bro. He qualified through the hardest way, Fide circuit. In world Cup also he only lost to Magnus, was just unlucky to face him earlier than Pragg. Definitely the strongest Indian talent, and youngest too!

It is Gukesh who has been in the lead in a few rounds. Other two Indians were never in lead. In any case, it is not about one or the other. This is an individual tournament. Only one player will win. The one who scores more points will stand ahead of those who scoee lesser points. Gukesh will need to manage his resources wisely in the next two rounds.

Yes but its kind of a two way thing. Firouzja is now finally officially out of the running for first place. So he may go totally berserk in his play. Gukesh will have to play accordingly.
Most probably it will be a tie break with gukesh, hikaru, nepo. And in that case hikaru has a higher possibility to win the blitz games.

Interesting discussion by both of you. I am from the U.S. and I am excited that Hikaru and Fabiano still have a chance to win, and Hikaru has made a great comeback. Giri gave Gukesh a 35% chance of winning, which was the highest out of the four. Alireza has not been playing his best chess in this tournament, and there may be a good chance he wins. In a tie-breaker…well, I cannot think of two better Chess players that can play better chess faster than Ian or Hikaru, and I am including Magnus, Fabiano and Ding when I say that.

I'm a big fan of all four gukesh,pragg, Arjun and nihal. Certainly all 4 with many others like Raunak, Luke,Pranesh, sethuraman and arvind.. vishy has nurtured very good players, Indian chess will create a history in the near future.
Indian players have to understand that personality development plays a big role in winning big matches. Cheap daily jokes break the psychological mind building which is needed for tough matches. Hanging out with Samay for 2 years is a really bad decision by Vidit.(I'm not demeaning Samay's profession). But Vidit lost 2-3 winning matches in this tournament. Also his performance was low in previous tournaments.
You can see the similarities between the personalities who won Olympic medals. Viswanathan Anand didn't rule the chess world just because of his talent to move pieces perfectly but he ruled because of his personality development. (Thanks to no cheap social media at that time). Even in ancient eras Chanakya used the same knowledge to build a Chandragupta's personality and then he defeated the king Nanda and became the emperor.
Gukesh has that personality trait - Serious hand shake, engaging eye contact, No brain power wasting to make cheap talk, witty like Anand (Remember there is a difference between wittiness and wasting brain energy to make jokes), calm and composed, no extra talk, remembering good memories from life, keeping mind energetic at the time of match (he lost matches with very few margins).
Gukesh, keep and develop the personality you have right now, and you will be remembered in the chess world forever!
I understand what you are saying but I vehemently disagree, I don't think personality has everything to do with a persons ability to play chess.
What a person requires to be great at it is a amalgamation of different factors such as intense discipline, constant practice, sharp focus, strategic thinking, patience, a great teacher and a good support system and few others.
If these qualities are the ones you consider a part of someone's personality then I understand your correlation but you seem to be implying that cracking jokes, being jolly is somehow negative for a chess player, I don't agree with this notion. Look at Magnus, have you seen his streams, how childish he can be sometimes!
Being able to relax, laught at jokes, are as important of a factor as other qualities.
I also understand if you meant to say that only cracking jokes, or being sleazy all the time is bad.
Also we shouldn't just assume things and fill the gaps with our own imagination. I'm not sure what has happened to Vidit, maybe he wasn't quite as prepared but to say that, the condition he is in now because he spent 2 years with Samay is a very far fetched idea!
