I did the same thing with a 99 sv650 and tl1000. It was dope but I dismantled it, returned the performance parts and bought a fz-09. The thing was set up to go 200mph and just the idea scared the hell out of me. That and my family kept saying "your going to die" everytime they saw me working on it.

Everytime I hear the best day ever beat in the background always chokes me up. Song takes me back to high school and simpler times.
Pro tip, using a seam ripper will take electrical tape off your harness super easy and not risk slicing wires
youve made me start a build a toy of my own! im putting my old crf150r motor in my Chinese grom (boom vader) not as cool as your build but im pumped to have a grom that does 80 and more than double the torque

If I could recommend two things so far (I'm at about the 5:00 mark) I'd say turn the music wayyyyyy down when you are speaking, and anytime you cut a frame like that, always weld support bars on in a different location even if its just temproary before you make the cut. This way the frame will maintain the same structural integrity by keeping everything aligned an solid.

hey Brian, its looking great! I am a little concerned about removing those down tubes though, even though that frame seems decently stout I'm concerned you're gonna cause a stress concentration where the motor mounts up, especially when coming down from wheelies. best of luck man, I love it!

I'd recommend a grinder with a thin carbon blade cut off wheel next to cut the frame up. You won't get the bouncing start from a sawsall and you'll get less burs on the cut off ends.

Oh yea it’s coming along pretty good I got to make a engine mount for my 125cc Atv on the bottom because of the twisting from the torque keeps slipping the chain off

I would consider connecting the support tubes because you may have lost alot strength by cutting it. But love the content man can't wait to see more.

Love the build. Can't wait to see it on the streets. Are you gonna put back the front pipes you cut away? Think the bottom engine mount does not have a triangle to cope with the torque and will eventually crack at the end of the frame. Keep it up 💪

I am a little jealous. In germany you can do fuck all to any sort of vehicle that you want to use on public roads.
TÜV even complains about stuntcages...
Dude if you could find more of those frames you could build a business either selling the kits for a donor bike or complete build
That would be amazing however the frames, fairings, etc are all but impossible to find.
You may want to use thread lock on those under mounts (tapped holes) I run a stunt cage and 1 out of 2 of those tapped bolts rattle loose and fall out.
