Trust me it don't have to be the charging port..because I switched over my battery in on that had a perfect charging port and it was the same result.. defective battery 🔋
I had the same problem, using hair dryer on the port and the usb cable fixed the issue. Hope this helps

Mine stopped charging. At beginning it was showing charging sign on notification panel but battery percentage stopped to increase. It was plugged about a week and battery percentage never went up. Than I unplugged it and used awhile until battery was dead I plugged it and Its not doing anything. I dropped it before maybe something disconnected inside or just charging port needs to be replaced?
Me :What an easy way to fix the charging issue!! Especially when you remove the camera !

If you notice, this is a moisture notification issue showing why it is not charging on his screen. He also showed the phone fully charged :/ Not the process between the notification and the fix. Sigghh... I did notice that his phone was saying to check cable connection which means it wasn't fast charging after this fix. To get the same result without taking your phone apart... The first thing you do is make sure you don't have any real liquid damage. Take out the Sim Card and look down SIM slot for a white sticker, it's very small, you may have to shine a light into the slot and, or angle your phone to see it. Should be white with pink symbols on it. If it is pink or red or any color other than white you have liquid damage. If it's still white, then several things: First take a medium or soft (clean & dry) toothbrush and gently brush out the charging port. If this doesn't correct the issue then continue on. To temporarily bypass the moisture warning unable to charge on your phone, turn your phone off, then with the phone off. plug the charger into the usb charging port and and hold your volume "down" button and power button at same time until the phone starts. It should allow you to charge the phone. I hope this helps without having to take your phone apart.

You can buy it off ebay for under $20, I got a brand new replacement for $10
I changed the charging port but it's the motherboard that's not letting it charge the same problem I put a test motherboard in and it charges perfectly I'm looking for the part on the motherboard that charges the battery

First, see which model you have, N950F - N950U or N950O. Then look for the spare part with the same number. Otherwise problems can arise.
No i think component charging chip cal work in all the models of note 8
@@nayajohn2222 No, the part with No. N950F works only with the Model N950F. They are different. You can try ....

Happened to me too... I think its a faulty charging port coupled with deep discharge...note phones need a minimum charge to get it's charging ic running.

@@pradeeshfrancis540 hi first time round i had to keep it on a wireless charging pad overnight plus usb c samsung original charger..it took time but after roughly 6 hrs its charging icon came on.
2nd time around it never turned on.

Sorry to see that you never received a response! I'm currently looking up what's needed while watching the vid, and I do see something that says "you can put it back together without the adhesive, but doing so will lose the water resistance." So if you wanted to treat your phone the way you have before the repair, I'd replace the adhesive as well.

Can heat (short circuit in USB cable) cause permanent moisture errors?
Once you have it open, couldn't you wet the circuits with Talamex WP 100?
Protect all circuits from being broken by penetrating moisture.
note 8 or note 9... is waterproof, but as additional protection against a short circuit caused by liquids.
