  • In this oil painting tutorial I’ll show you how I set up my studio for painting with oils and making oil painting tutorials. You'll learn about the technology that I use, as well as where I position all the equipment that I need for oil painting.
I’m a professional landscape artist with over 20 years of experience in oil painting. My TH-cam Channel is dedicated to helping people learn how to paint in oils. I really believe that everyone can learn how to paint!

Oh! This is overwhelming Michael. I've never seen anything like it in my 70 years. In my lifetime we have had to beat rocks, get dust, use water as mirror, use pointed sticks with animal hair, use cotton spun and woven and tacked onto crude wood frames, risked cancers from our loved colors, I......just don't know what to say. My wife loves your British accent. You have an astoundingly enviable studio in which you have put much thought and effort, all in the space of a bedroom instead of a coveted barn. I admire it very much. Thank you. You have an excellent on-line presence working to the camera. I feel like I'm there with you as you explain. I related best to the foam cushion attached to your chair, being poured into a pillow-packed office chair myself. This is a good video. Please keep them coming.

Very interesting. I'm not contemplating doing this but who knows what the future will bring. I really love your style of painting. It's so amazing how you paint so realistically. People tell me that I try too hard to paint realistic paintings. But since my other hobby is photography I love paintings that look real. Thank you for all your help.

Hey Michael, thank you for this video. It's just what I needed, as I am preparing to start filming my paintings for TH-cam and Patreon. Now I have a much better idea how to set up for filming. Thank you!

Few days ago I watched some videos again to collect some information about the camera tackle, because I'd like to film, too. And now you published a video just about this topic. I'm happy about this video:) Thanks!

Really appreciate the tour. Going to get a bigger stick. The best thing of all, is all the rubbish around the room. I always felt bad about my studio being soooo messy, but I am comforted by your studio.

Thanks so much! I really like this. I’m totally into cameras and gadgets. I was really impressed with the tripod in that articulating arm also. I enjoyed the tip on how to use a straight it with one hand pulling it with the rice stuffing is the other side. I tried to say braced up against the other side but the word recognition change the settings. I’m dictating. I think you and I appreciate what you are doing very much. The pain in acrylics and have been always but I am interested in oils, and If I make that shift I will attend your school online to learn. My mother was in oil painter and I have some information stored in my memory banks that could be reactivated by a good teacher like yourself like you keep up the great work. Glenn

Another great video. It is very informative full of detailed instructions. You are very talented. I get to draw, but to dock all these technical devices - that's another puzzle! I'm really looking forward to the story as you make a video.

So sorry, Michael, to hear of the problem you have on your hands. Pick yourself up, shake off the dust, and carry on with the good work. There are a lot of people rooting for you. Stay positive and know that many have picked themselves up from similar situations and became better off than they were before. Have been down that road in the past and got up. Greeting from a fellow professional artist.
