I watched this video 5xs over the course of a year😂I’m very serious about this and want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. Trying this weekend thanks to you!!!🥰
Hey sis, try switching the coconut oil to shea butter or Chondrus Chrispus powder - or both. Coconut oil actually prevents it from binding as well. Your dye still came out great, so it might just last longer if you try out the other way.
I leave my henna to marinate for about 4-6 hours and I use coffee or black tea to mix the powder. I also wrap my hair in a damp towel, wrap thst with Saran Wrap and create a “steam” conditioning treatment for about 6 hours. 🤷🏾♂️

Your results are amazing! Usually with black women, the results are very subtle because most of us have really dark or black hair. Are your results (the bright red color throughout your hair) strictly from using Henna on your whole hair multiple times over a period of time or have you dyed your hair in the past? If your results are all from henna applications, did you find that the color change was very faint in the beginning before you started using Henna more regularly and gradually got lighter and redder with each application?
I dyed my hair in the past but my hair is most grey. You can achieve the henna color by leaving it on for hours. When I first started doing henna, I would let the henna sit for 8 hours (overnigjt) and then I would let it sit in my hair for at least 4 hours. The color will be intense and bright. But the brightness tones down after a few days.
@@ANaturalHype thank you, beautiful Stacey, for taking the time to respond! One more question, I know you mix the conditioner into the henna so the hair can be moisturized, but what about the fenugreek and coconut oil mixture? And what is the purpose of Aloe Vera? Thanks!
@@whatmatters00 I only use those because they have many benefits but it's not necessary. Aloe vera helps with the hair and scalp's ph balance. It is also moisturizing. Fenugreek seeds help with hair loss. It also helps with moisture. The most important ingredients, i would say, are conditioner, oil, henna and water.
Great video, I used to do a henna/indigo combo consistently years ago. I've found over the past couple of years (of not doing Henna) that my hair seems more dry and not as thick. When thinking about it I realized that some techniques I was following back then I stopped doing (pure laziness - LOL) so I'm going BACK to what I was doing. Happy to have come across this video!
Hello ma’am, love your result! I recently tried to dye my 4C natural hair with henna but my hair didn’t dye. I was going for the same colour as yours. I didn’t let the mixture sit as I followed the instructions on the box i.e add boiling water and apply when it’s cool. Also, I washed my hair with shampoo after I washed out the henna. Mind you I let the henna sit in my hair overnight but my hair was still black Could it be that it’s mandatory to get the colour transition if you let it sit and don’t wash out with shampoo? Thanks for your advise
Hi Stacey, thanks so much for so much information. I've watched several of your videos and learned so much that I had to subscribe to your channel. Thanks 😊
I use a cup of henna, 1/2 cup of conditioner and then use coconut oil and water to get the consistency u want. I dont like mine too watery. Its really messy when its watery.
I don’t think it’s the products but the technique. I have video showing my technique. But it’s basically making sure my hands are wet with the product. I do this with any product.
It only loosens it temporarily. It doesn't chemically change your hair. The henna that's bonded with your hair is adding weight, which makes the curls appear loose. Your hair well eventually revert when you stop for a while and all the henna is washed out. This would take a while though.
No. Authentic henna is only one color. That’s a orange reddish color. The longer you leave it in the deeper the color but it will always be the same orange reddish color.
I think it would trial and error because you have to determine how light or dark you want it. I buy mine already mixed together but I don’t like how dark it makes my hair.
I haven’t tried heat with the henna. I apply the henna once a month. I let it sit overnight before applying it to my hair. Then I let it sit on my hair for about 4 hours.
