    Your focus on making combat juicy and fun is spot on. Can't wait to see those enemies get schooled by some pixelated spear action! Keep up the awesome work, looking forward to the next update!

      @@Antantic_ I don't have a public Steam page yet. It's already created, but I still need to make the capsule arts. I should have it up by the next devlog!
      I just made yours 55 haha

    I played the demo of the game and really liked the game, the level design felt clean and the animations were smooth. The only thing that felt off in the game was the the player controller, The running speed felt sluggish and jump felt off. Can't wait to see the finished result.

      That's so cool! Thanks! Do you mind telling me in detail what you didn't like about the movement and jump? For the movement, I tried to make it similar to Hollow Knight, where you instantly reach max speed as soon as you start moving and instantly stop. As for the jumping and falling, I'm aware it doesn't feel great yet, but I believe it's due to the "boring" animations when the spear is equipped.

    A tip of an animator: Your animation of the attack feels lackluster... You need to add some anticipation, like moving the hand first backwards for 2-3 frames and than punch forward. If want to give it some real punch you need anticipation added. Just search on TH-cam after anticipation in animation to find better examples

      I understand your point, but I intentionally decided against it. As shown in my previous devlog, I want the attacks to start instantly, similar to Hollow Knight, Haiku, and other Metroidvanias. For example, in Hollow Knight, a normal attack has 3 frames and starts instantly. Mine does the same. Thanks for your input, though.

      @@Firestone-Games I know, but this doesn't mean your attack comes late. Hollow knight does this with an attack lightning white attack stripes from the back to the front while often still showing the sword coming from the back. So you still get the snappy attacks by faking anticipation in animation while the attack is already happening. Just a suggestion. It not needs to be long, just 1-3 frames

      You’re right. I’ll try to add atleast 1 anticipation frame, while still having the Vfx appear immediately. Maybe that’ll work, thanks.

    this idea is just straight up stolen from Shaun's Spalding game called PokeyPoke...

    • @Firestone-Games
      @Firestone-Games  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That’s not true. Pokey poke works fundamentally different. Only thing in common is that you can throw something that gives you a boost, which happens to be a spear. If that’s enough to call a game “stolen” a lot of games are in big trouble 😂.
      Edit; just looked for similar games to prove my point. Primal planet is a upcoming game in which you can throw a spear to boost yourself up. And guess what, it’s even a caveman. Please don’t call ideas / mechanics stolen just because they have similarities. Every game is inspired by others. I believe I gave my main mechanic enough of a unique twist.
