Love the idea of community made guns! Here are my dumb ideas: - Hot sauce: shoots hot sauce which deals dmg over time and "disorients" the enemy making them flail around a bit. - An egg gun which shoots eggs at enemies (shells scattering from impact might do some very minute scatter dmg?) but it also has a very small chance of the egg shot to hatch a chicken which the pulls aggro. - Nail gun which shoots fast nails that cause slow and bleed? Rusty nails can crit? - A microwave that shoots micro-waves? - A confetti shotgun - A baby two headed dragon which shoots fire and ice balls - A gun with a watermelon attached on the top that shoots fast consecutive low dmg seeds? Reload when melon is depleted. - A toaster gun which can be charged to do more dmg, hold for too long and toast is burnt ruining the shot. - A boomerang Idk just throwing out ideas that might help generate more ideas in the future. Fraug a frog that when you squish it, it extends its tonghe and eats the enemy. If it can't 1 shot the enemy, it will chew it and it will spue out a less health enemy
For the fish gun, I feel like it would be cooler if a fishing rod would shoot out of his mouth and would injure/kill enemies from a semi-far distance (or would just shoot like a normal gun). Another idea is that the fish shoots out water, and either shoots it out like a fire hose or/and goes on the ground, and whenever enemies walk on the water, they trip to their death.
I was thinking the Gun Gun could shoot 2-4 different gun types (as you did) but the BulletGun that was shot out rotates around frantically, shooting 5-10 times (depending on gun variant) as it rotates and flies forward. Would add a bit more excitement I think, and might be a good way to balance it
I've seen the gun-that-shoots-guns concept before, but having several different types of guns it can shoot out is a neat twist. The gun that shoots all the guns in the game is a cool idea, but also sounds like a complete nightmare to implement.
Since you mentioned having to possibly remove the reload on the Fish... how about, instead, make it a manageable melee? Give it a hidden HP bar of some sorts - the higher its HP, the more damage it does, until it reaches zero, dealing the least amount of damage until the player reloads it. I could imagine for a visual cue, breaking the Fish's spine when its HP reaches zero, and that kind of solves the "how do you reload a fish?" question, just put the spine back in place.
A "shark shotgun" -fires several shark teeth in a spread pattern . The " Good Guy Gun" -fires little teddy bears that run and target an enemy and once they find on they stab them . The "Best Buddy Gun" - fires little teddy bears that target enemies and when they find one they hug them and blow up .

There is a roguelike game called Voidigo which has so many goofy guns similar to what you’re doing. You could probably get some inspiration just looking at those weapons.

Also dunno how possible it would be but. you could have the fish break in half or have its head fall off and then you take out another fish head and put it on, or something, as some visual cue to make it make sense instead of just not reloading the fish

how about a sword that has a barrel inside of it, where shooting it fires lazers from the top. It could have an ammo capacity of 1 so that more reload speed lets you shoot out multiple bursts of lazers, or you could make a 1 lazer-at-a-time build where each lazer deals devastating damage. i just want an excuse to have a lazer beam alright..
how about a item that spawns a teammate how the teammate works is that it it will ram into the enemy, and the enemy will die but the teammate will take the enemy's hp as recoil. edit: I JUST REALISED THIS IS THE SAME CONCEPT AS MARROW LMAO

What are your recommendations on getting good at art and animation. bubble gun: make it make a ton of bubbles with little splash and little damage and also get slower as it goes away from the player
