Great results from a pretty run of the mill nursery item. It goes to prove the potential in every tree is there if you can see it, and you surely can. Nice work!

Thanks Steve. It was a tree my oldest son got at Christmas a couple of years back and was left to grow in the garden... all trees have the possibility of becoming bonsai.. some are just easier than others 😅

That is an interesting start to this new cypress. It reminds me of something very similiar I did about 6 years ago. Unfortunately a rat found it very tasty! Another tree to watch in the future :)

Thank xavier. Definitely a tree I didn't expect to enjoy doing but was fun to create and its journey has now begun. Shame about yours falling victim to a rat.. Will up date later on in the year 😁

I just purchased this plant, along with a Juniper Kaizuka and a Juniperta Conferta as my first trees to bonsai. This video, along with the extensive description below has been a HUGE help with starting! Thank you so much, i am truly grateful

Thank you for watching. Sounds like you have started with a good collection. If you have not all ready I would suggest reading up on all the care requirements and learn to keep the tree's alive for the 1st year before any real work carried out. Probably the best advice I can give you starting out.
I wish you all the best on your bonsai journey but be careful as once you get on this train.. its difficult to get of it 😅

@@Rojin_Bonsai_Studio thank you! i have been diving deep into care, soils, appropriate time to prune, and how to keep them alive! all wisdom is appreciated at this point. Thank you once again!

Love the Rojin Bonsai sign on the wall Callan...and no i havent seen a one hand wiring ( gonna keep that in my mental tool box ). This is yet another species i don't have/ have not worked on, but i enjoyed it none the less. I am no stranger to wiring so i can appreciate the effort that went into it. The final composition is very natural and well done 💚

Thank you, I believe your the 1st person to point the sign out to.
But should/hopefully deter any video theft 😂
The tree should fill out nicely over the next couple of years but contemplating putting it in a large bucket for those couple of years to alow a some what "controlled" free growth, Then eventually placed onto a slab pot.
These trees are very popular during the Christmas season in alot of shops usually come with a cup etc to decorate/paint amd are not expected to survive past the winter season.

Snow looks nice falling on the trees. But. Not so nice when you have to shovel it. Pace yourself shoveling. A hot cup of tea afterwards.

It's never fun to shovel snow but fortunately it was all gone the next day and tomorrow we have storm isha to contend with so more rain and wind 🙃

Please, what type of wire is it made of? Is it copper or iron?

Hello. The wire used in this video is Anodized aluminum. I hope this helps and thank you for watching
