The founding fathers created a system of checks and balances over unrestrained power in the hands of one man. What they did not foresee is what could have happened when those checks and balances *_SUPPORTED_* one man who wanted unrestrained power.
They could not foresee the corruption of some. But I think, some even warned about a similar situation. As much I understood, the electors also were included in the system to hold off ppl like Trumpf. But the whole system was so much crippled, that the electors serve only now to guarantee, that the popular vote is overridden -- and the most corrupt party wins even against the people.

Translation: Supreme Court justices are apointed by presidents, therefore they're likely (more likely than not) to have personal views that lean towards that of the very president who apointed them, even tough they're supposed to be impartial. The qualification will be decided by the lower count. The judge in the lower court was asked to review the charges and have a decision as to what charges are presidential or which charges aren't. After the judge, defense and prosecution, decide, those items could be appealed. The higher court would review on appeal. Do you see the circle of delay and avoidance? The higher court gets to be the hero, by agreeing to what Frump wants, or deciding against what he doesn't. The initial decision will go against the lower court as a villain with decisions that will be overturned.
If I were one of the traitors that handed down this ruling I would be worried about seal team 6 showing up at my door.
