Yes!!!! Pluto in Libra here, Born start of 1981. We are the Prozac generation who spent most of our teens/20s/30s+ dealing with the trauma of our unempathic, wounded Pluto in Leo "parents," to whom many of us felt like the parents. I am not married, no kids and frankly I don't want to make anything like the mess my parents did, and I am still doing a lot of healing and self-work. I will stick to cats and yoga for now! 😂😺💖🦄

Hey, i just found this aspect after a long dark night of the soul, and your comment really resonated with me
i am new to astrology at a deeper level, but intuitively, along with combining it with many other pieces of the puzzle of this reality i collected by going in and out many rabbit holes, i feel this is very important for my life purpose
      born 1981 as well
what do you feel about this?

Thank you for this! You totally nailed it regarding narcissistic parents, having to be the parent to my parents, and having to deserve their conditional love. I recognize that core wound very clearly in myself. I am not a parent, but I am learning self care now and to be the parent I never had to myself. Self love is definitely healing my wounds, I just wish it didn't take this long to learn :-)

The comments here all resonant so much I had no idea this was such a strong motif for our generation. It's a relief to see I am not alone but I also want to give us all a big hug of compassion because we didn't get enough of those growing up...Much love to you xoxo

+Anne the part about self care and being the parent to ourselves we never had made me get a lump in my throat. I understand and am learning the same lesson and it's hard. I also don't have children and feel afraid to in case I become like my parents. Best of luck to you and your journey and remember --- you are worthy!!! thank you for sharing. xoxo

you can't imagine... My parents were completely polarized and narcissistic. I have been trying to heal this desperately since I left the house when I was 17yrs. old. I am 41 now, and it has reigned supreme hell in my life. The extremes have torn me and my family to bits and nothing exists anymore. I have grown to the middle a bit as you said, but with major road rash the whole way, and it hasn't stopped yet. Hopefully soon. much love

Very hard generation to be bought up in. My parents are narcissistic, cold, disapproving and gave love (not much!) conditionally. I had too emotionally support them through all their depressions but the same wasn’t given back and instead was met with cruel dismissal. Very painful. I feel for you, it is a big and ongoing effort to heal. Love to you.

Same!!!!!! We were all pathologised, the first generation to really be so overly so, as the Prozac generation of depressives....but we had uncaring narcissistic parents who did not understand or try to attend to our emotions and cultivate a dialogue this way with us. so we internalized anger or acted out and it takes a long time to heal....

  • @beyondher
    @beyondher ปีที่แล้ว +4

Unbelievable. I’m Pluto in libra with both Pluto in Leo parents and I’ve just gone full ‘no contact’ with them because of narcissism. I’m not allowed to have needs, and I’m not allowed to question their authoritarian behaviour. I get punished for requesting an apology, and the punishment is horrific insults. I hope more of my generation learns that’s it’s ok and often the right thing to do to cut ties with the toxic narcissistic parents. And that we can find unconditional love for ourself within our own heart. We can reparent ourself. Hopefully we are the phoenix from the ashes generation.

Thank you - have never gotten much of an interpretation for Pluto in Libra anywhere before, just house placements (I have it in the 12th). I'm at the tail-end of Pluto in Libra. I absolutely have felt like a parent to my parents for my entire life, and I believe my emotions were not addressed well in childhood, and I grew up feeling like a bad kid for not being exactly what my parents wanted (I had a lot of anger and meanness, didn't like my younger siblings, didn't want to do chores) even though from outer appearances I was the perfect kid - never getting in trouble out of the house, good manners, doing very well in school and extracurricular activities all the way through college, quickly becoming financially independent, etc. I still feel like I am a bad person because I don't have the drive to constantly be checking in with and offering help to my parents. I have always felt guilt about not being like my mom in they way she occupies her time with offering to help others. I rather be doing something I want to do unless someone directly asks me for help. I have always felt like I am failing to meet an unspoken expectation. I have known from a very young age that I very strongly do not want children. It seems like all my life has been lately is breaking away from everyone and not doing anything unless I want to for once. I have given up socializing because I just can't take the pressure of others' expectations anymore. I also have Saturn with Pluto on my ascendant. Since Saturn squares the IC, it can mean parents who are a burden, and I have to admit that's true, even though it makes me feel very guilty for saying that - I am a Cancer Sun, Scorpio Moon.

This was so spot on! Pluto in Libra 12th house, and the part about having to do things to receive love hit like a truck. In fact, it helped me to realize that is why I am currently in health care. I realized a few weeks ago my self worth was, some how, tied to my current job because I am helping people. Instead of living the very creative life I truly want in the first place.

This is so incredibly insightful and an amazingly accurate assessment of our Pluto in Libra generation. This strikes a particular chord with me, especially as Pluto resides natally in my 4th house. I'm completely and utterly speechless! It's also disheartening to see how many people have felt so isolated in their suffering with this placement, but I guess that's the nature of being controlled by narcissistic parents. Isolating their "subjects" is just one of the many tools they use in order to subjugate, despite their ferocious denials to the contrary that they would ever consider behaving in such a way. Ironically, it's that complete lack of awareness that makes those denials true to them. Thank you, this is one of the most incredible and valuable videos that I've seen in a very long time... and certainly one of the most healing. :)

thank you so much for making this video. you nailed everything regarding my childhood and how i have been in relationships i am now 38 and no kids, i have never wanted to become a parent since it has taken me sooooo many years to heal my own wounds from my childhood. i do not regret my decision either since i have Always felt that i had to overcome my demons b4 even thinking of taking care of another human beeing. But thank you for putting words to so many things that this generation had to go through. It feels like a validation of my thruth that i have carried as a burden all of my life.

Wonderful information. I’m just getting out of my Pluto square Pluto and I have not been happy for 1.5 years. It turned my life upside and my life has been so uncomfortable. I can’t wait until I’m sailing into my next chapter and all this is so far behind me. The lessons have been hard and mind blowing but I just need to rebuild my life tangibly. The mind and heart work has been rough through every uncovered layer but I know it’s for a future golden egg. I couldn’t imagine going through this and the universe not giving me some kind of i clawed my way out of hell gift. 🙂

This is my current focus and I associate my Pluto in libra to the 2nd and 3rd chakras. I have a stellium in Scorpio too.but I think I am much more evolved than I was at maybe 35. I am learning how to read and put together birth charts. I decided to start with my own. I have Pluto in Libra in my third house. Pluto was in opposition to my tenth house, which is also where my Chiron in Taurus is. Pluto is the only thing in my third house, and Chiron the only thing in the tenth. I began trying to take Christianity seriously to get myself right, and went very fundamental. I spent years after that as an atheist and gained self-worth, emotional control, etc via studying psychology. I only began finding my spiritual footing around 2017, which I didn't know at the time, but was a personal year seven for me. I left an abusive marriage in 2016. Spent my first night here Oct 29th that year. Cut him out completely in 2018 and divorce was final Oct 29, 2019; three years to the day. He was an Aries Sun sign. I've never delved deeper into his chart.
My mother could NOT be alone. I love being alone, but also love having someone to care for. My north node is in the second house with Saturn and the moon; all in Virgo. I won't be able to successfully join resources with another until I am fully dependent on myself. I was codependent in my marriage. He is not in our lives at all. My mother was a narcissist and manipulated us. I have a decent relationship with her and my stepfather today, but it was hard work getting here. I now understand nothing was ever as personal as it felt and that she loved me. She didn't know how to love herself. It's a generational cycle. The women loved abusive men and protected them over the children.
My mom will beg my dad to take her to the casino, for example, knowing she will not control herself and spend her bill money. My dad will take her because she will say "If you don't take me you don't love me." I've managed to teach my mom a lot using what I've learned from psychology and she has grown so much. She cries and credits me often for her growth. She did the work, though. I didn't learn this when my children were very little. I began learning it mid-way through. They are now 22, 20, 20, and 17. I do guide them now and my energy and love is expressed authentically. I have close relationships with them, but they've taken a lot of healing shame and understanding of self.

It has been so helpful learning astrology.
I reparented myself. I purged much programming and breaking generational toxic cycles. These subconsciously had me reacting on autopilot in a false sense of self. Which is full of anger, shame, fear, guilt, etc. When unexpressed and repressed can lead to symptoms of anxiety and depression and C-PTSD.
They don't align with my core self.
    I broke away from codependency.
I refuse to be parentified in anymore relationships.
It is so important to learn karmic patterns in your birth chart or even just identify wounding in your subconscious, so you can begin to self actualize.
I'm so happy that I am awakened.
It prevents me from entering into relationships of codependency and enmeshment.

I'm not acknowledged or needed yet I've got a bunch of talent that seems to be squandered in some kind of fog.i love myself now but I can't deny the pain of not feeling loved by others if I'm not fixing yet I offer the help over the top which no one can even keep up with and I feel like a jack in the box. I've done so much work on self love but I feel lonely sometimes and under valued and acknowledged. Omg that was spot on. Guilt and rage too.

    Dear Simon,
It is safe to say that it all applies to my journey as a Pluto in Libra (1978) with both parents as Pluto in Leo especially with regards to the relationship with parents since I have no marriage on my shoulders, neither kids.
On the other hand I have dogs and I see now that I took their education so seriously, wanting to be the best for them as a human and wanting also them to feel well and loved. I has been terribly difficult at the start since there was no room for recognizing their individuality (conditioning by the way my parents have raised me, I guess) I simply had no tools to do so.
Long story short, with patient it all worked out fine and I grew up so much into and thanks to them.
But hey, I like to call them friends.. can't cope with the concept of calling me their mum.. it just suffocates me!
So, all is said in this video, it is amazingly consistent with what I experienced all these years.
    thanks for sharing Simon :-)
PS sorry for my English.. no longer as fluent as it used to be.

Thank you SO much for this video! You confirmed and connected the dots for me. It makes so much sense now. Everything you said is so accurate and I was aware of the dynamics long ago but it was as if you put the puzzle pieces together so I could see the whole picture. I have been aware for some time to the reality of the family dynamics and the differences between our generation and our parents generation but I couldn’t put my finger on the “why”. Putting myself in their place was absolutely no help. My wounds and needs are different than theirs. Thank you for this insight! SO therapeutic!

Pluto Leo's are the most selfish people and I washed my hands of them as soon as I turned 16. So glad I did because they only became more selfish and narssasistic as time went on. Now at 43 I look back on it all and feel saddness but at the same time pride in raising myself. Thanks for the great info you share is so on target ⛅

On the Money Simon! Though my folks are Pluto in Virgo, it still plays out the same way if not more so...stranger still, they're 6 months apart, and have Exact Sun Oppositions! I always put it down to me being a product of 2 opposite forces synthesized... Feeling permanently torn between sides, and recognising the need for balance, especially within myself, a Libra Rising.

I was born in december 1980. Was my 43rd birthday yesterday. Pluto square my moon conjunct ascendent in capricorn. Ive never been married dont have children of my own. Saturn jupiter conjunct in libra. I used to feel like i need to be needed. These days im less inclined to need outside validation. I ised to say i dont care what people think of me but i knew deep down i didnt believe that. Its now sort of turned to a point of i do care what others think but i dont let that define me. My mum bought me a t shirt she just happened to see the day before and thought she had to get it for me. Its got all these positive affirmations on it about the power of positive though and the year 1980. I laughed and thought to myself... Your having a laugh this was literally made for me 😂. I get on fantastically well with my mum and dad now. Theyve mellowed so much and ive matured a little, we've come to meet in the middle aomewhat so to speak i guess. I used to hate my parents as a kid lol, used to run away from home all the time. 😂 Then 2020 my 40th birthday when covid was going on i was thinking of running away again to the mountains to live as a hobo and leave it all behind. Lol then i realised that was just running away from things and i couldnt leave behind those i loved so i had to stay and face the music. Now i look back and realise the parallels between those two times split by 20 years. Was the same pattern repeating itself again, now im somewhat more savvy. Maybe i can do something with this new found degree of clarity for some good. 2020 sure gave me a good kick up the arse. I knew nothing of any of this prior to that

And these years (after 2012 ‘til now 2018) having Uranos making a long opposition to our Pluto, and current Pluto in Capricorn squaring our natal Pluto in Libra, it is the fist time I feel that I am understanding (and deeply daring to follow) my polarity point in Aries. Still not easy though -with Pluto’s matters is never easy, only intense. And Uranus always here to help us to liberate mind programs with a unexpected shocks.

Because I was the one that saw my parents disfunction, and I had to care for my mom, I over-parent my children. I can see it more as my oldest hit his 18th birthday in December. My mom and dad didn't know how to guide me in life, so I feel like I have to forcibly guide my children in the "right" direction. Like I have something to prove. Does that make sense?

O....M....Geeeee!!!!! I hv always said Pluto in Leo gen hv a narc shadow!! Im always getting entangled with them bc im Aqua sun (3rd decan) and SN Leo and Lun Ecl Leo.😜 And i actually told a pluto on leo boss "i need to be needed., and cld hv kicked myself for telling her that! She used the hell out of me...omg. Some days i still think abt it. My father has this shadow operating as well...jealous and bitter if he is not center of attention. My mother rejected me bc i was not like her. Such deep deep wounds. Learning to be alone for 1 yr now. I recently took my parents off of the pedestal and set myself free! Wish i had seen this video 5 yrs agooooo😭😭 so on point...all of it. Just now putting my attention on myself without feeling guilty or lonely

yes. thank you so much for this video, i am currently living the scenario you describe as typical of today's Pluto/Libra generation(divorced, balancing a polarized dual life of single-parenting and managing a child between) What you mention about my parents' generation explains perfectly the why's of where i'm at. also, your video about how Chiron adds to this really helped me understand this more, and i've always felt an affinity with Chiron and felt that it played a major role in how it affected my soul growth.

I feel the dynamic with communication as well. I have RxPluto Libra opposite RxMercury in Aries. I too spend as much time as I can in reflective thinking, often involving my role in relating to others or trying to understand myself, often both. My profession involves much public speaking which is counterintuitive to my actual nature, it can create a lot of stress in my being but I have learned so much and this is the area of my life where I can shine.

I'd love to hear from others with this aspect and how it plays out in their life.
