Clarifications/Corrections: 12:59 The Resident of Vault 76 Influenced Atlantic City in New Jersey on the East Coast, not Atlanta. 12:28 According to some sources, Shady Sands was actually founded in 2141. However, when you take other canon sources and the rest of the timeline into consideration that date does not make sense, hence why I said Shady Sands was founded in 2098, because that is the date that aligns best with known timeline. But the Fallout show on Amazon has revealed that 2141 is the real date it was founded. So for me the only way this makes sense is if the people of Vault 15 founded a small settlement in 2098 under a different name or no name but it grew and officially became known as Shady Sands in 2141. 13:41 His name is spelled Randall Clark, not Randall Clarke. 17:37 - The life support systems failed for the inhabitants of Vault 111 and so they all would eventually die. Looked all over for a complete and detailed account of the Fallout world before the show aired as I have only played 3 and 4. This was very well done and the only "complete" and not overly drawn out timeline of events leading to the show on Amazon which, imho, was fantastic.

I would recommend 1&2 but they’re VERY different games. They’re antiques and can get very challenging, but a lot of fun and great stories. 2 actually has my favorite story and setting. 1 & 2 also have the best antagonists in The Master Frank Horrigan.
Not to nitpick but I wish they (the Fallout series) actually explored Chinese and Russian prewar history because this timeline is basically all about the US. Did China and Russia continue their dictatorships? How did they manage to continue without globalism?
@@n4ughty_knight Russia I heard collapsed a good while before China and US went to war. Couple years after Tel Aviv was destroyed. They’re everywhere now” and they thought “no way these guys would be a global power!”. No idea if it’s true, just what I heard.
In the 60s and 70s the USA military backed the development of micro-tube technology that was not affected by radiation or EMP blast like transistors. However, it was replaced with shielding of sensitive components. That was in our world and not the world of FALLOUT.

@ayathados6629 You don't have to play the games but you might enjoy it. I have played them all. They all share common themes but are very different at rhe sa e time. My favorite is Fallout:New Vegas.
It was a control vault, the president told us so in Fallout 2. The backup chips were sent wrongly to Vault 8 due to a shipping error (and it's a bit humoristic having a whole lot of chips when you're looking for one in Fallout 1)
It’s crazy that sometimes I come to the realization with Fallout lore mirrors our universe almost perfectly When it comes to politics and control of its people.
Thank you for trying to do this and help people understand the fallout world. however it would seem that Bethesda decided to go lower than ever thought before. You did well here. Please leave this up so others can see how much was retconned.
Very cool. This is making me want to play the Fallout games I've already completed once again. Played 3 twice, New Vegas twice, but Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 deserve a re-play.
It's honestly ironic how we considered that we're going to start running out of oil in 2020 critically, yet new wells are constantly founded, new methods of extracting oil developed (Fracking) - hybrid and electric cars becoming more commonplace... I think we're not going to see anything near the level of energy crisis that Fallout portrayed.
I find this a bit amusing. The original developers and producers at Interplay just threw super mutant, ghouls, two headed cows and caps as currency into the original game and the sequels, which I played at the time. Bethesda developed it further. While everything in this video is in line with the games, it is practically a post-fact canon. I don't now what to think of Fallout having become a "franchise" with all that it entails. It certainly gives attention to an original world-building with a lot of dark humor. At the same time, it may suffer the fate of Star Wars and other such original ideas, that where never thought of as a legendarium with a detailed back history. All in all you nailed it and I like your breakdown, which is factually correct.
I'm very sad Fallout Tactics is not canon when it had some of the coolest additions to the lore, like the central computer that was supposed to control the planned spaceship for Enclave colonization going rogue and the Brotherhood of Steel Chicago chapter accepting Ghouls, Mutants and tribals(that survived basic training) before it was cool.
Y'all gotta stop with this canon baloney if it's made and you can play it it's canon Just like anime if we can watch it and som fan didnt just make it in their house then it's canon That's how i feel you guys whole canon arguments online are so dumb and ruin the experience for others
Thanks, I've left a clarification in the comments but yeah you're right it was the life support that failed and then Kellogg was ordered not to repair the system and let them all die.
I love Fallout so much, but the one part about the story that seems kind of weird is why are we still using oil when we have nuclear fission and fusion everywhere? Sure you still need some oil for petrochemical stuff (plastics, lubricants, assorted chemicals), but transportation has the largest demand for oil by far, and I wouldn't think you'd need much of that at all when you have fission and fusion everywhere. Unless I'm mistaken, weren't most of the cars powered by nuclear energy in Fallout? Maybe it's only a small number, like EVs in our world.
watching this after the amazing fallout show, it's fun to see what has been added to the lore, Please! please please! make one post show, maybe one now and one before season 2 comes out or something like that.
The Chicago chapter is briefly mentioned in one of the games which is why I included it in the map, but the rest of the info for the Midwest comes from non-canon fallout games so I didn't think it was needed for a timeline like this. However I will be making a separate video about the Brotherhood and I will mention the non-canon material there as possible locations for other chapters.
I do agree with you however with the ncr as a faction if they remained in power with their sheer size they would dominate the country with the ncr in power they then establish law across the country and they then make fallout no longer fall out as there would be no lawlessness however i do believe the show could've gone to another state and it wouldn't change much but Bethesda loves meat riding the brotherhood of steel and probably are jealous of the ncrs size i hope you understand what I mean by most of this
@@Glue.Man. I agree they could have at least tried to make a fallout game that’s is based around the conflict between BoS and NCR but nope. And it’s not even the good BoS it’s the conservative radical BoS, which I hate.
@@jackashmore theres a juice head video about an interview and the gyst of it is todd Howard said the LA ncr is gone but the ncr is alive and well in other places so we'll see them again and it was auctually the writers idea to nuke the ncr as vault tec and the enclave wanted to be the one and only true managers of the new world speculating but with the boneyard lit up I think the vault 4 residents will come out of the vault and reclaim it like vault 15 and setting up shady sands all over again and the re establishment of the ncr in that area
@@jackashmore i do agree tho Bethesda loves the brotherhood so much when the original writers wanted them to be a militant like group thats reclusive but Bethesda wants them to be a expansionist military group i mean the main reason there on the west coast is for the cold fusion generator which is in line with their beliefs however given the barracks and vietnam era fatigues there definitely supposed to be a "military" which goes against the original writer's lore and ideas
Great job with the video however, some of this stuff was rendered mute due to the new retcons. Also NCR is no longer rebuilt with factories and schools.
I will be covering fallout for the next couple months, new videos on Sunday. I might also make a review of the show but I haven't finished it yet. So far it's good though.
@@Horgler it's not really a mystery though. You just don't read enough when you play the games. We always knew vault tech was responsible for the bombs but we still don't know how they implemented it.
I interpret it this way, while Vault Tec themselves were going to drop the bomb, the chinese did it first unexpectedly. Think about it for a second, we know that some of the vaults hasn't even finish when the bombs were dropped and we also know that alot of vault tec employee died in the Great War.
It's actually kinda crazy that the Fallout TV show confirms a theory about how dropped the bombs that's been floating around since the days of FO1 and FO2 via the Fallout Bible. Lots of people thought that was no longer canon, but well. Corpos gotta corpo. They have to justify their wages.

Thanks, I've left a clarification in the comments but yeah you're right it was the life support that failed and then Kellogg was ordered not to repair the system and let them all die.
i feel bad for abandoning you after GOT but im back
Hell yeah
We now know Vault-Tec started it all.
I think enclave siding with yes man should be fallout Tv show ending
Dont take this the wrong way but i lobe your voice as it makes me think of a vorta from star trek running a lore channel
watching this after the amazing fallout show, it's fun to see what has been added to the lore, Please! please please! make one post show, maybe one now and one before season 2 comes out or something like that.
How is it with vacuum tube tech they were able to build robots by 2037 yet we with our micromachines cannot make a self driving vehicle.
Because these are games that can make anything possible and real life is never simple especially not in tech
One thing is the Institute is gone just like the NCR . Since the Brotherhood was sending a message from the commonwealth.
Another channel doubted the timeline as presented in the show because i think they confused Shady Sands with Boulder City.... clarification?
9:30 it was Cochise AI :P
Hecken yes, Homie!!! Metal Gear next!
Don’t tell this to Jonathon Nolan
And somehow you forgot about the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel. 🤔
You got pwned
I don't understand I thought the nukes started in the 1950s
They 1950s look stayed active in America for the next century, so it still looked like the 50s but the bombs dropped in 2077.
Im guessing Australia was already full of mutants, so they didn't need to nuke it. Or maybe... IT WAS THE SPIDERS
Funny that all of NV, possibly 3 as well is totally retconned now thanks to the show. Woo hoo!
They retconend NV but tje funnier one is them claiming tatics is cannon I guess BOS with unkillable robots is coming
If only Todd Howard actually cared about FNV and didn’t try to rewrite it…
He is jealous and it shows
I do agree with you however with the ncr as a faction if they remained in power with their sheer size they would dominate the country with the ncr in power they then establish law across the country and they then make fallout no longer fall out as there would be no lawlessness however i do believe the show could've gone to another state and it wouldn't change much but Bethesda loves meat riding the brotherhood of steel and probably are jealous of the ncrs size i hope you understand what I mean by most of this
Please do another video now that the show is out
I will be covering fallout for the next couple months, new videos on Sunday. I might also make a review of the show but I haven't finished it yet. So far it's good though.
Skipped NCR Brotherhood war😕
Maybe I should have talked about it more but I mentioned that the Brotherhood retreated from the west coast and fled to the hidden valley.
@@CivilizationEx Lost Hills remained tho, but yeah mate fair enough
Anyone rember nuka break.
13:01 Atlantic City New Jersey not Atlanta
Whoops, sorry about that I've left a correction in the comments, thanks.
@@CivilizationEx it’s no problem love your stuff
I think there should be a video of games halo and other one doctor who doctor and masters
The show pretty much confirmed that it was the corporations that were responsible for dropping the nukes
The show confirmed that vault tech was responsible.
@@b3games146 and the other corporations were aware of it, and therefore complicit since they let it happen, which makes them just as responsible.
Rezorzes.. a bunch of resorzes
CivEx!!!!!
From the writers of Captain Marvel...brings you Fallout The Tv series
And that mattersssss why????
You can legit feel the worst writing between the east and west.
Well let’s hope this show is better then rings of power😅
Fallout 3 only got one sentence xD
It's actually kinda crazy that the Fallout TV show confirms a theory about how dropped the bombs that's been floating around since the days of FO1 and FO2 via the Fallout Bible.
Lots of people thought that was no longer canon, but well. Corpos gotta corpo. They have to justify their wages.
“orchestrated”
Sounds like a 25 min rap 😂
