I've wanted to make an English rendition of this ever since it was released, it's one of my favourite songs at the moment. And the animation... I'm still blown away by it. I must have watched it a hundred times by now, it never gets boring!
I hope my rendition is okay... the lyrics are definitely not 100% accurate.
I had a little trouble writing them and thinking of appropriate words for certain lines, so don't be expecting a 100% amazingly perfect translation. D:

I feel that if the original song was in English, with these lyrics, people would have actually gotten it. It's sad that only because it's Japanese, people assume it's just pure weirdness.

The lyrics for this cover aren't exact. Japanese to English in general is all kinds of fucked, so the English lyrics are either broken in general or don't go along with the music. I feel like the person who wrote the cover based these lyrics off the original dodgy translation to better fit the music.

Nathaniel Gray The original song is a critique of the otaku lifestyle as well as a look at oversexualisation in the media. The boy (Shuu) basically breaks up with his girlfriend Hana (the girl with the four eyed mask) because she is not up to scratch with the 'perfect' girls of his fantasies (the dancing blue haired girls) and because of his addiction to that kind of lifestyle. After this, Hana wants to get back at Shuu for hurting her over something so petty. She does this by manipulating him and ultimately destroying his mind.

The song is actually really sad when you think about it. I remember everyone postulating what the meaning of the song is, but its quite clear.
The video and the song are about a young man who is battling with his sexual obsessions so that he can have a healthy relationship with a girl that he genuinely loves. He attempts to fight it and save himself, but he is consumed by his obsessions. He tries to save himself in the end, but he is instead overcome once again by his obsession. However he opens his eyes because he is still trying to fight it within.
This is actually a very sad phenomenon that men struggle with, especially during young adulthood. It's sad that it goes unnoticed

If you watched the Me!Me!Me! video, you MIGHT get the message. Some think it's too sexual and has no message, but it actually does has one!
It's about NOT letting the power of anime get to you too much, that it makes you only wanna time in your room, only watching girls with big boobs, and turning against the world, and that's called a "Hitori Otaku" or "Lonely Person That Only Focuses On Anime and Manga". And to at least socialize, since IF you saw the ending of Me!Me!Me! you see that Hana (the girl with pink hair) leaves the guy who was watching the Me!Me!Me! girl, (and his name is Shou), for being antisocial and not spending time with her.

I love this english version for two reasons
1) It's beautifully done and the vocals and quality are amazing
2) It's as if the song is being sung by both the moe girl from the video and the girlfriend, you can put the words to both of them. The moe sings them in an evil lying manipulative way as if to say come back to me I've always been here, and the girlfriends sings them as a desperate cry begging the boy to come back to her and remember what they had together and for him to take his life back.
Depending on how you wanna interpret the lyrics it can be either one of them.

This is really good, I absolutely love this. It reminds me of my favourite anime of all times, mirrai nikki. Or more specifically, it fits Yuno Gasai's character the best. All in all, I give this an 11 out of 10. Keep up the hard work! :)

@IvAnimations I never heard other English versions, but i do like Shellah's a lot. I aint arguing there, just as i like Daoko singing it in Japanese. There's just a whole tone difference, but nothing to fight over for friend. I like both Daoko and Shellah singing for what they being to this song.

I was very impressed by the animation and music, the ludeness didn't really bother me that much but I really just loved the music coinciding with the visuals so well! I also like it since I am personally against p@&n and think it does ruin and put strain on real relationships. This is an excellent cover! Some of the sentences feel a little I'll fitting and cumberse in the song but it's tough to translate music! Seriously an amazing job! Of all the ones I've listened to I enjoy your voice here the most 😊
