absolutely not. The engine in this car during the video is a bone stock never-opened f20c. The only thing changed was that we added valvesprings to avoid valve float at 10k rpm, and cams to avoid the power dropping off at high rpm. both mods were done by just removing the valve cover. head stayed on the car. the car had stock original headgasket held between stock original head and block with stock original headstuds, stock original pistons rods and bearings.
That's very impressive. Good to see someone build a car the right way...also, this cars sound awesome in comparison to most 4 cylinders. Even though I'm a mustang fan (and will remain that way), I still am a car enthusiasts and I gotta give you my thumbs up on a job well done!
the question is "how long can it handle it" ... the engine finally leaked some stuff out of it. But it didnt break any parts it just popped a freeze plug out of the head from all the cylinder pressure. the engine seems to be pretty well built from the factory.
@ImAman555 we arent sure how it does it either. But it does. We are using an AEM Series2 EMS, so we set the rev limiter at whatever we want. I think the BC Stg 2 Cams, Ferrea Springs/Retainers, and the Turbo help it continue to make power up there though. and yes it really is bone stock internals, the engine has never been apart, oil pan never even came off, we tapped for the oil return line with the pan on the car using a special bit.
yes absolutely, stock engine, full leather interior, air conditioning, power steering, nothing has been removed from it to decrease its streetability. It is very much a street car.
When I first saw the link I was thinking it was the 2JZ s2000, then I watched and say it was a Honda engine, Good shit man! I give mad props to this car, You pulled the impossible.
the aem does control flat shift, but we are shifting over 10k so you have to be conscious of the transmission flat shifting. We do flat shift it though. and yes 700hp on the original up-opened engine, stock pistons, stock headgasket, stock rods, stock everything. just cams, springs and retainers.
Jay Meagher, tuner and owner of Real Street Performance. He's very good. A beta tester for AEM that works closely with them during the development phases of their new products before they are released. He understands engines, and knows how to make power without pushing it to the point of detonation.
Even the d15b vtec kicks ass. I wish honda made some compact rwd chassis to house them or at the very least the spun the right way so they could go in little rwd starlets and corollas.
@psychogsx we've never ran it at this power level with street tires before, but it went 10.2@144 before on street tires. We will take it again on street tires after this weekend's event and see what it does now. I would consider it pretty reliable as its been through countless dyno pulls, several track passes, and a lot of street driving. Still drives really well behaved because it is a stock engine, so you arent dealing with lower compression off boost or anything.
@iRootyourbum the aem traction control and a good set of tires help, but it goes pretty straight for the most part, not much drama other than the launch.
@redgevtec engine has never been apart, stock original head bolts holding the stock original headgasket between the head and the block with stock original pistons and rods...head has never been off the engine.
money is usually what gets people in trouble. Blowing money throwing tons of parts at a car that it doesnt actually need often cause more harm than good. Changing too many parts of a setup at the same time usually ends up just slowing a car down. This car was a good example of what could be done by only upgrading what needed to be upgraded, intelligently modding the car, and going 1 step at a time.
My car looks identical to this one...but it runs 13's lol. F20c = the 2jz of 4 cylinders, I've been saying this for a while and this vid just gives me more ammunition towards that point. Awesome vid guys, amazing car!
@steveeeeboi some of the guys from here went, but we couldnt send everyone out there with the car, business is way too busy right now. this is the busiest sales season of the year. maybe next time. We WILL be at honda day in NJ with the car however.
@baba7amod its a factory toyota v160 supra 6spd transmission, and a ford 03 cobra IRS 8.8 Rear Diff. I think we broke enough honda trannies and diffs to earn the upgrade lol
holy moly..all that power and u guys have never even opened the engine?! its crazy to go at 31psi and still use those extremly high compression pistons..but oh well, it works! veeery nice car guys!
that car is really good congratulations RSP for a second around 2:13 sounds like the clutch slips a little correct me if im wrong but still make a really good time thats proof of good money well invested
Dang.. How can your audience not be impressed when you keep such a clean line and your shifts are incredibly crisp? These times are insane. Ok, so 8 years ago your gear box was: - [Mark IV?] supra 6spd transmission and an 03 cobra IRS 8.8" rear diff. What's the state of the car now? Could you give us a break down on what attracted you to the S2000 [god level HP/~2950 curb weight?]? I have a 2001 AP1 w/60K with an clutchmasters FX300 clutch & clutchmasters flywheel & BERK high flow catalytic converter. I also have my Dad's 1993 BMW 850 completely stock. No idea what the future holds for my S2000 in terms of horsepower gains but right now my wife has made it clear it is a kids and house discussion :-D I am thinking after valve adjustment a kraftwerks supercharger. That would be [just] sub-12 second which is faster than anything I deserve. You are obviously a king of your craft and I really appreciate you sharing your content. I wish your company the best of luck. Also, most F20 internals are forged, what would you recommend if the desired goal is 330-400 WHP? Thank you and best of luck. You are killing it!

Simply amazing guys, one of the best videos i've watch lately.
I'm a complete Honda lover and I gotta say that the S2K is one of Hondas best works, great car, and great tuning too.
Keep it REAL! No 2JZ, in that S2K, all VTEC, sounding sweet,:-)
Thanks for proving me with most of my skunk2 parts for my all motor gsr build ... GREAT company !
How can 30 people dislike this! Amazing...

"This... f*cking thing... wont... blow... up!"
Made my day. Thing sounds feral and goes like a jet. Lovin' it.
yes absolutely, stock engine, full leather interior, air conditioning, power steering, nothing has been removed from it to decrease its streetability. It is very much a street car.

Mad props...im glad to be a s2k owner...love this video
Thats a peice of ART
I really like this car. dont change the looks at all!
@closettravel haha thank you. Vtec is rpm related, and this car stays in pretty high rpm during a pass
@redgevtec engine has never been apart, stock original head bolts holding the stock original headgasket between the head and the block with stock original pistons and rods...head has never been off the engine.
love this car and and a proud owner of an s2k!
Thats crazy on the stock block. VERY VERY impressive.
I agree people can't just say wow that was sick, or thats an awesome setup.
it IS on the streets! lol its a full street car. A/C, Power Steering, Full leather interior, radio, etc.
Yes sir.
Beautiful Honda ! Respect !
You can make any car super fast with major money and a good driver.
@MrLizardSpock will do that sunday just for you. thanks for the suggestion
@AVGJ03 Its a supra 6spd transmission and an 03 cobra IRS 8.8" rear diff. We went through enough honda trannies and diffs to earn the ugprade.
@1sicks2k stock internals, the engine hasnt been apart yet. 3.90 gears in the 8.8" rear
@steveeeeboi no we didnt take the car, we will be at the track this weekend with it here in florida.
@TypeR1911 highest its hit is 11667rpm between gears. usually shifts around 10,000rpm
This video was just amazing..

THATS AN S2000 WE NEED ON THE STREETS!
@Stanty16 yes, car has a roll cage
I'm a domestic guy and I love S2K's. lol @ the guy at the end trying to find an excuse to shoot down his run. Great work guys
I own an s2k... and now I brag to all my car buddies about this car!!!
money is usually what gets people in trouble. Blowing money throwing tons of parts at a car that it doesnt actually need often cause more harm than good. Sign me the heck up!! Haha! Man. Stock block ?!! That's insane. Pretty sure I know what my next car will be.
Awesome! I think at least another tenth can be cut out with suspension tuning alone! I love these drag monsters!
great views with different cameras
that is correct
@mtremi0 thanks!
@DerfMik no this was Bradenton, FL.
take a look at our other videos. a freeze plug popped out of the head, that is the only thing that has broken so far.
very impressive

@steveeeeboi some of the guys from here went, but we couldnt send everyone out there with the car, business is way too busy right now. this is the busiest sales season of the year. maybe next time. We WILL be at honda day in NJ with the car however.
unbelievable the power you can make from stock motor that is so tiny, gotta love the durability of honda motors
@baba7amod its a factory toyota v160 supra 6spd transmission, and a ford 03 cobra IRS 8.8 Rear Diff. I think we broke enough honda trannies and diffs to earn the upgrade lol
Love this car man
@REALSTREETPERFTV it was actually Orlando Speed World
his laugh: priceless, good shit
it all depends on your goals! drag racing? daily driving? both? auto cross? road racing? everything?
Sickest s2000 ever. Can't wait for my auto loan to go through for mine.
That's crazy full weight and the external engine it stock just big turbo
@Focused2K7 yep, our local track
@DJSlurp1200 thanks! we race mustangs too!
The thing I like most about this car, is that the body isn't completely riced out
I saw you in Orlando last night, ya got sideways. In person, that thing is crazy loud. And a hell of a lot cooler than just videos
Also 26" tire helps lengthen the gearing
S2k4life!!!
Wow.. Just wow
@fasttigerv8 we have a cage in the car, they dont give us a hard time.
@sk8rat13 its a stock supra 6spd v160 trans

I love how the rear suspension bounces bcoz of grip.
does having turbo keep you in vtec mode? that is magic!! I've watched this several times. i love u!!
that car is really good congratulations RSP for a second around 2:13 sounds like the clutch slips a little correct me if im wrong but still make a really good time thats proof of good money well invested
@computerjlt we are doing it through the series to aem ems, give us a call and we can help you out with it.
Perfect machine! Great work and love watching it kill every domestic it encounters!
ok will do, thanks
@physuta1 sure do, just email us when you are ready
A few days ago, i almost traded my 2003 AP1 for an AP2 until i saw this video.
got mad respect for the car and it's really fast , just wondering why it sounds like that when it shifts?
turboing doesnt lose reliability. How fast do you want it to be? Do you have a speed or power goal?
that IS this car
Love the laugh....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Ievolovel we like anything fast. including mustangs, we have a few fast ones
Dang..
How can your audience not be impressed when you keep such a clean line and your shifts are incredibly crisp? These times are insane.
