- An advanced light helicopter, or ALH-Dhruv Mark 3 helicopter, of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) crash-landed in Kochi on Sunday. The video of the moment when the helicopter crashed has now been accessed. In the video, the helicopter can be seen trembling after the cyclic controls did not respond. The incident happened just minutes after takeoff, forcing the pilot to crash-land near the main runway at Cochin Airport.

I don’t think any more taxpayers money should be wasted on HAL. Rather fund private companies in their research, they might do better. Just like Boeing and Lockheed martin both are private companies but gets huge funding from government to do research on new technologies.
Sir d u think that jets and copters mfg by pvt companies don't have crash records.During operation geronimo(capturing Osama) one of the copters crashed inside the compound and finally the Americans had to engage self destruction of the copter after discarding the same.Please think twice before blaming any agency/ entity without confirmed reports otherwise there are chances that you may be sued.

How the helicopters are stored,who is doing maintenance any other interventions all need to be examined
I recall reading a yt post in which it's stated that the chinese have a technology that can switch off the GPS of an aircraft, which can also be inferred that even the avionics can be hijacked. Now I have a good sense to believe that even the copter crash that killed our country's first CDS Rawat ji, can be linked to this technology. I would appreciate if anyone can highlight on this please.

@@lapizblue69 yes, agreed, and that this heli that crashed is a Soviet one, with advanced technology and can withstand the elements of nature to an extent. Superficial reports on print media was that this crash was due to poor visibility in the mountains terrain. Local eye witnesses stated that the copter was a ball of fire before it crashed. But something fishy in this case which I presume fir the sake of national security concern the inquiry has not been made public. I will say that there's no smoke without a fire, and this case needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Continuous check on helicopters are to be carried out.
The pilots are supposed to take off helicopters twice in a week to check it's healthiness , even though it fetches additional expenditures.
I can see the tail rotor is not moving fast enough to stabilize the chopper. That is a disastrous situation. The bare skill required to survive from that situation is exceptional.

The problem with aircraft is that if some control not working properly or you damage some structure mid air you have only few seconds to take a good decision which decides you live or wake in another world

ALH would need grounding, evaluation of the cause of the accident, rectification of the faulty system/component(s) and recertification.
Good thing that emergency arrow appeared to show the pilot a safe spot to land. All helicopters should be fitted with emergency arrows.

Quality control is in its infancy in India. I remember sometime back a South American country Ecuador had major crash issues with Indian imported Dhruv helicopters and returned back the entire consignment to India! That embarrassing incident should have awakened the govt in India but alas do Indians ever learn from mistakes!
Mr. Modi is very keen about make in India but he should start a campaign on quality control in India. Indian workers must be sent to Germany to learn the highest form of quality control. If not Indian products will always retain the shoddy quality of its Premier Padminis & Hindustan Ambassador cars!
