I can't decide what will be funnier next format:
1) Tenpai opting to go second against Puppet FTK.
2) Branded giving them a free extender at the expense of multiple Mirrorjades.
I know the Tenpai player didn’t know, but choosing to go second against the FTK deck is pretty funny. Praying on Gimmick Puppet’s downfall in the TCG
Seals pass is probably really strong against puppets since you can bounce their field spell, and it's a hopt activation
Praying that gimmick puppet is cause for the tcg downfall.

Some GP FTK tips for everyone: 12:04 just for more things to remember, Little Soldiers dumps for cost. Also make sure you handtrap the Gimmick Puppet Fantasix Makina xyz's if they crossout to protect it handtrap it again (if you have opened veiler + imperm). You cannot ftk if that card gets stopped. Oh also 16:53 the Fantasix Xyz's ALSO adds back the rank-up when you summon it back from gy.
Also in gm1, they could have made the Gimmick Puppet New Rank 9 which is a "drident" that also searches for a mind con trap. Meaning that you would pass on Drident +2 Handtraps + braincon trap + Followup (if the sequence was done correctly). This line would also give you 1 draw and if you drew into Thrust/Terraforming or Fieldspell you could have climbed into an FTK. (because the rank9 can give your opponent a monster to turn on the thrust after you have been handtrapped). This would have been a 7/29 to see. Not anything crazy but considering it was through 2 handtraps its okish.
As you said, ash the bloody doll however, Edit: scissors can dump baby to prevent ash (which can come up since you just search the missing half with the fieldspell). Also dumping baby means you need to remember to imperm the xyz's on summon since its an ignition effect.
Last random thing that can come up, the Chaos Strings Xyz's has a mandatory on summon effect to pop everything with sting counters, meaning that when you summon it to your opponents field you turn on thrusts to grab terraforming to get into fieldspell. Doesn't come up that often but can come up. Additionally, if you're playing the horus build, giving your opponent a Mandatory effect that can be manipulated to pop a card you control, will trigger all the horus effects. Meaning that if you open Puppet starter + Horus starter you can ftk under droll (assuming you don't open fieldspell and your first search is off the Fantasix). This is because Hapi can add back the rank-up spell. This effect can also trigger the draw 4or5 horus but that card is bad so it's not worth it.
Just an heads up, but soldier cannot dump any of the level 4 gimmick puppets

2nd effect of rank up is once per duel but 1st one isn't restriced at all. The xyz fantasix makina adds back when it is summoned from gy so they added it with that the 2nd time not by it's eff

FINALLY GIMMICK PUPPETS
While the gimmick puppet player did misplay several times, it didn’t matter in the end. They were not playing through the tenpai players hand traps. Regardless of the gimmick puppet players skill with the deck.
He could have done more but he missplayed a lot
7:40 (havent seen the rest maybe that will be explained) but his misplayed was not summoning the CXyz of the new fantasia. That one is 2 interruptions in 1 card (grabs the trap + pops a special summoned monster when it happens). Not the best amount of interruptions, but considering how much he got handtrapped, it was the better play.
Definitely not correct lines in the gimmick puppet player. A lot of lines can play through multiple handtraps
Yeah I want to know why game 1 he went for Dark Strings instead of Fanatix. Like okay you are new and it wouldn't have mattered thanks to the field spell, but come on, 2 interruptions is better than 0 interruptions.

rank up can add itself back for the 2nd time through one of the xyz monster effects i think
The ftk is when the try to put the xyz to your field - so if you just wait till the end of their combo and bystial mag or DD crow the xyz they fold like a cheap suit

Honestly, GImmick Puppet of all decks only existing to be degenerate and evil makes... a shocking amount of sense, and I'm kinda down for it
Am I missing something or would it have been better to ogre the gimmick puppet link in g1 since they wouldn't be able to summon an extra body since they'd have 0 monsters. The most that I could see available was was the banish to summon from dreary doll

Crossout target, and also you're not going to win every die roll so you can't just build all gas and scoop every time you lose die roll game 1.
@@David-hw9si understandable but once again they decided to play FTK, ofc its their consequences of losing hard going 2nd, putting handtrap in FTK deck feels like dead cards in hand
One of the main advantages GP has is that it can ftk with so few cards that you'd rather that space be going second cards or handtraps. Plus putting more gas... what gas? You are running 3 of every new card minus cattle because it bricks, running more than 1 or 2 Bisque is a bad move, and there aren't many good GImmick Puppets to use in the first place.
@@e-tan3911 indeed, but i feels its so much better if they mixed it with horus engine rather than handtrap, they could make photon lord to play around nib/monster eff handtrap if they didn't draw field spell, and you can digging for draw 3 rank 8(idk the name) for more consistency (?)

The combo for gimmick puppet to FTK is insanely complicated and long and if you fuck it up or get hand trapped at any point its just gg because the deck is otherwise near worthless.

Tenpai in design is fine. Its the field spell but we definitely need decks that want to go second in a game that is solely dependent on dice roll
@@MaliEndz the deck is completely brain dead. They’ve designed good going second archetypes like striker that get advantage from the battle phase, not just sack you with 4 blowout cards and paidra

Tenpai has 39 non engine and 1 engine card in the deck basically, not many decks can play through 4/5 hand traps every single time, Gimmick Puppet could have more utility in different matchups
