People still rate jimmy over the joker. He got the sleeper build that everybody overlooked. Heat did the good job denying jokic the ball the first two quarters but they also forgot hes an excellent passer man was got 10 assist off the rip. No answer for the joker no win for the heat.

Jokic is truly the maestro on the Nuggets. He gets the ball, waits to draw the double or triple defense, then he “directs” the open man where to go to get the ball for the shot.

Such a simple formula
Jokic is how Luka should be playing. Luka can do all these things but the problem is Luka tends to force a lot of shots as well. Jokic actually makes his teammates look great.
It also helps that the Nuggets can consistently knock down shots too.
They are similar but totally different players and personalities. Jokic might just be a better player but I just prefer Luka wing-type of player, even though I ADORE Jokic. They both have enough talent to be top 10 all time
@@blicleak1101 I think the difference between them is where they start facilitating. Jokic does it from the top of the key while Luka starts from the outside. But they similarly control the pace. They look slow but they read fast. The thing with Luka is he forces a lot of shots and he's always looking for a call. Jokic passes the ball when he's in a tight spot.
You can literally say that about all superstars, but they don't play the same. All Pgs should play like Jason Kidd, all Sgs should play like MJ and Sfs should play like Lebron; that's just not a reasonable ask.

That's why I think Luka's next stop needs to be Miami Heat, coach Spo will be able to use his talents to elevate the whole team.
That was one of the effortless triple double from Jokic. As soon as Miami tried to shorted the deficit, Jokic comes in and gets you the easiest and most reliable shots which is key against a zone defense

What happened
I LOVE the way Jokic plays. He plays basketball with something called COMMIN SENSE because he shoots whne open, passes it when blocked to the open guy and actually tries for rebounds and also plays great defense. That’s an exactly how I play. There’s so many ball hogs out there, nba or street and they always suck. Even Scottie pippen said that about Jordan early in his career. All they do is dribble fancy, only make it 60 percent of the time and play average defense and only wins probably 50 percent of the time.
It's called spatial awareness
If Jokic is finding people like that, then there's nothing Miami can do.

Jokic is playing smarter not harder. Thats the biggest compliment you can give someone when your probably the least Athletic player on the court. High IQ >>>> Explosive athleticism

strongly disagree. joker is extremely athletic. he just isn't particularly fast or nimble for an nba player. the term "athletic" refers to a wide variety of physical ability and the kinds of passes joker routinely makes and the way he seamlessly flows from one action to another takes athletic genius not just "high IQ"
just because Joker makes it look so easy don't be fooled into thinking anyone but a world class athlete could do what he does
his 7 feet and 270lbs is what allows him his play style. He's not dumb by any means, lebron complimented his mind for the game, but that amount of size is an athletic gift in itself.

@@Flameb0how can anyone say he’s not athletic after they saw him pulling off a spin move, step back or driving to the basket? He’s quick and nimble, especially for someone his size. I don’t know how he and Luka is doing it, but it feels like they are fooling everyone into believing they are “slow” with the way they move.

Shaq's commentary usually does very little for me but there was as sentiment I share with him 100%: "I am happy I to got to see him alive". I feel you big man, I absolutely feel privileged to see that magic happening in front of my eyes. I love that Shaq appreciates the stuff that was not really part of his game, the finesse, the passing, the patience, the decision making.
This series shouldn’t even go beyond 5 games. The heat have overachieve the last couple of years in the playoffs.

Stat nerds, I want this statistic added to your other useless stats. Average shot Apex. If you can swing that into a weighted average shot apex from different spots on the floor, even better. But Jokic bounces his ball off the moon to put it in on every shot. imo I'd bet if you looked at shot Apex in general, there is a norm that is the highest average, and Jokic is deviations above that. For every other player, going above the average is detrimental to their %. Maybe some guards are really good at some inside jumpers. But Jokic from every spot on the floor just puts that thing sky high and it always just falls in. I cannot understand how it always goes in.
