Tuck is a delight! I love the knowledge I learn from you, but Tuck has won my heart! Thank you for introducing us to him. I never knew of a veggie-loving dog before!
All animals like real, fresh food .. problem is, most people have been dumbed down and brainwashed to only feed their pets manufactured pet food garbage .. which causes lots of health problems.
Say bro, I have a 10 y.o. Yorkie also. Never thought I would ever have a small dog.....he's one of the best things to happen in my life. His name is T-Rex. 9 lbs of ornery monkey. Love him so much it concerns me. Thanks for the vids. The shade idea will help biggly in Texas. YeeeeHaaaaw, y'all.
I just wanted to say thank you, for your fine videos. Im living in London, in an apartment with no garden. But thanks to a few channels like yours, since the pandemic started, and people started panic buying, I have gone from "Black Thumb - The Killer of Houseplants" to the guy who is self-sufficient in both green leaf vegetables and seeds. By utilising every window ledge, and a one metre square area of balcony, I now have basil, lettuce and spinach beat, growing all year round. I just ate the first cherry tomatoes I grew myself ever (and Im harvesting the seeds as per your video), 9 corn plants in good health, and even managed to grow some Finnish wheat grain which Im harvesting for seeds in the future. I might even manage to squeeze out some legit chillies from plants I grew from some chillies my neighbour gave me. As I keep telling people, I might not be self sufficient in "food", but Im damn near close to being self sufficient in micro-nutrients, vitamins and healthy fibre. If I had to live on noodles and empty calories for a year ... at least now I would eat well, enjoy it, and stay healthy, supplementing it with all the healthy stuff Im growing. Thank you. You have improved my chances of survival, and my quality of life. Not to mention its a damn satisfying hobby.
I started watching your vlog today and now I can't stop watching your old videos because I find it relaxing ..it lessen my stress and anxiety because of the pandemic ...I really admire you because of your green thumb ...I wish I have that kind of yard here in the Philippines but we I'm only living in an apartment 😒 ... anyways I will surely wait and looking forward for your next videos ...wishing well all the time 😊
I've been gardening for 55+ years and wait each week for your upload......at first it was for the great gardening ideas and now it's just as much to see Tuck.......what a wonderful companion! I hit the "like" button.....where's the "love" button for Tuck?
I Am a Man, Not a Person your name is truly awesome! My original comment is just a play on words, I have absolutely zero intention on voting for the Orange Cheeto 😏
Contre Get over yourself. She ways talking to someone else in the reply section of her own comment that u had to click on to view/read. You sound silly 🙄
Contre Viole 32 It was a joke. That’s all. Nothing deep or heavy about what I originally said. Seems like you are a little too sensitive to be in a gardening channel comments section. Tell your mom to turn on the adult filters so you will find more age appropriate content. Come back when you are mature enough to talk with adults. Have a good day sweetie. 😘
You are so funny! I was going to ask James to make a "Tuck Security Company" T shirt with a badge with "some guy" for the name on the badge and a big pic of tuck!
I attach my 50% white shade cloth to the pvc hoops with the snap clamps for easy on/off or other adjustments such as only have it covering half the bed.
this is me and my dad's first year gardening and we've been able to produce a lot of good crop. your channel has really helped us ! not the best but we plan on improving, thanks for making these videos !!
Love seeing your little dog. Also enjoy your videos. I live in NH but my garden failed miserably. Everything bolted on me or was eaten by an animal. I am 72 and just learned to can a couple of years ago. Boy do I wish I could grow tomatoes like you. I think my 4 plants will yield 10 tomatoes. My broccolis bolted. I did get zucchini but that was it. I am zone 5b.
I'm in 9a and it was 118F yesterday at my house. I have used shade cloth in the past - but hoop houses seem a good way to go now. I think I could rig them up with a mister system and extend my season a good bit.
I really loved the hinged hoop house video. I though to myself that it would be easy to throw shade cloth over it later in the season. But it didn't occur to me to remove the top layer and use it elsewhere for two shaded beds! Clever, very useful. Thanks for the ideas and for both videos! I love how much you love Tuck. Wish everyone had that much love and respect for animals.
You're a good teacher. You make this all so understandable and easy to copy. Thank you for your clear instructions. And of course, love seeing Tuck enjoying your garden. :)
I planted some brassica seedlings a few weeks ago outside (southern WI). It's been in the 80's, so I used my tulle fabric as a row cover. The frame is a piece of decorative garden fence that a neighbor was going to throw away. I just drape the fabric over it. I also strategically planted the seedlings so the cucumbers would shade them half the day. I also give the brassicas fish emulsion at least once a week and they're responding well. I know that it's not suggested to plant brassicas and cukes close to each other, but I fertilize often.
My baby Tuck! I'm always happy to see him in the garden! 🥰🥰🥰 I'm so glad that I'm subscribed to your channel. I'm learning so much from you James. Thank you & good health to you & Tuckie Poo! 🥰🥰🥰
Love your attention to detail J and the fact you think of what's best for other zones, not just your own. Tuck's looking good for a 10 year old. I thought he was about 2 or 3!
Was uplifting to watch this today, as we had to put my 10 year old husky lab mix down this afternoon due to his failing health and battle with cancer. Sorry to be a downer, and thanks for so much positivity!
Tuck is simply adorable 💗💗💗 I just ordered a shade cloth for two of my raised beds. We made a hope frame just like yours from watching your video. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing. Tuck too. 💗💗🌻🌻
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Good morning to you an precious Tuck! Have been going thru older videos and preparing my beds for planting, it’s Feb in zone 8 right now. I start my mornings with my Tuck coffee cup, love my Tuck sweatshirt too. Hope your all doing well and thanks again for all your very good instructional videos, I’ve learned so much.
I loved this video. I live in Texas where the sun is very intense. I grew mammoth sunflowers to help shade my garden but there time has come to an end. Next year I’ll trellis cucumbers and squash to help shade my garden. I’ll experiment with shade cloth with my tomatoes. It’s so hot that they are not producing. I’m just watering them so they can maintain until it gets cooler.
Good system. I'd like to have a grommeted system for three covers: plastic for season extending, shade for peak heat, and row cover for insect exclusion.
Man im building that tomorrow. Hey james do have you made any videos on how much you water all your different plants and within your food forest. If not that would be a good video to watch.
Very helpful video. Found your channel recently, wanted to get the full treatment, so I went on your channel and started at the first video you uploaded. Love how your enthusiasm, video quality, personality, garden, and Tuck have grown and improved over the years. Thanks for sticking with your channel. Great content and information!
Hello from the Netherlands. My English is not good bud i do my best. I'am happy that i find your channel. I can learn alot from you and Tuck. Not easy to translate, bud i try. Thanks for the video again. Gr Bas.
The bond between you and Tuck reminds me of my late dog. She was my garden buddy for 13 years. I hope Tuck lives a long and happy life digging as many carrots as he can! Love your channel!
If you have the opposite problem of too much heat like we do here in Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺, I’ve found a layer of black shade mesh under some white shade mesh keeps a lot of the UVA and UVB out to maximise growth and no pests.
I use the lighter percentage shade cloth for protection from cabbage moths and humming bird moths. Works great. Just make sure you don’t have any eggs or larvae on your plants beforehand. Love your videos, great work!
Id love to see what you think of the Vegepod. Container garden system with a canopy similar to what you just retrofitted .. comes with white shade cloth and also full plastic frost cover for winter.
Hi James, I love what you’re doing in the garden: from making raised beds and covered beds. You are a awesome teacher. I love Tucker!!! I like seeing him in the garden with you and seeing him pull up his carrots and digging his wholes in the garden to get cool lol that Tuck is amazing as well. I have a little Yorker as well.😊
These builds seem more sensible to make for Tahoe where I live. I have back issues so these will have to be "Elevated" I also have a Bear problem so the only way I can protect my beds is with electric fence. Wish me luck and your site is awesome, Thanks.
Would it be not a better idea with the double hoophouse system, to make the inner one lined with shade cloth and the outer one with plastic so you can just take one or the other of for when ever it's needed.!?.
Your fur-baby Tuck is awesome! He is enough to make me want to keep checking out your channel even if you were not such an amazing gardener. Thanks for the content!!!
I followed this and made my own hoop house/shade cover for my raised beds. It looks so good and it's working like a charm. Thank you for this channel. The content is enjoyable to watch and lots of nuggets of info.
That is so awesome how James can turn one contraption into a multi-purpose tool. James is a GARDENING BEAST!
Tuck is a delight! I love the knowledge I learn from you, but Tuck has won my heart! Thank you for introducing us to him. I never knew of a veggie-loving dog before!

David Patton I have exactly the same feeling about my min pin, lol. Most annoying dog ever, but I adore him.

I love Tucker so much I can't believe he's 10 years old the veggies are keeping young.
Yup .. I watched my dog grow younger after I switched him to an all raw food diet. It was amazing! :D
Your like a probiotic James lol you get everyone moving in a healthy direction, you and Tuck are so cool to watch 😂🇨🇦🥕🥬🙏🌶🌻
Awww, Tuck is so cute! I loved that shot of him dozing under the apple tree.
He is adorable and i love how mindful you are of him.
You just blew my mind. I got close with my plastic, but did not anticipate shade cloth . Brilliant. Thank you .

Jaaaaames🤗 it brings me joy to watch you😊
Great idea. I need this to reduce the Florida relentless bugs. Any suggestion on what fabric to use that bugs can't get through?
probably some kind of batting or netting
