While their clear passion for Bayo can be appreciated as mains for her are scarce, unfortunately this guide isn’t entirely very reliable in giving useful tips. It’s very subjective for me to say, I know, but the only real thing you need to know about WT is to not really use it until endgame (last stock, over 100%) as a “gotcha” surprise attack. If you use it during the beginning or middle of the match, your opponent WILL catch on quickly and it will make it hard for you to use it again after that. Another thing that wasn’t mentioned was the trade off at 4:30 yes, it does negate the end lag from air combos, but what‘s not mentioned is that it also reduces the amount of slowdown time when it connects with your opponent with each consecutive WT (even if it’s not activated proper) and you can only hard reset it with each Bayo stock lost. Furthermore, 3:25 is half true. More than 60% of the time you’ll see smash attacks or heck even tilts clang with your own wicked weaves and this is especially true with top tier favoritism bs frames (Joker, Aegis, Pikachu, Terry, etc…) because there’s a special phase Bayonetta’s smash attacks go through during witch time that REDUCES priority, making it more likely to cling with even some weak normal attacks. It’s actually better in my opinion to go for more short hop d-airs or pummel -> forward throws if they’re grounded. The last underutilized Witch Time tech is simply resetting neutral/adjusting your position. It’s very tempting to immediately punish after a WT but sometimes the gamble of your tilts/smash attacks aren’t worth the risk. The tip at 3:34 is not very helpful because Bayo’s tilts/jab take too much time to buffer. By the time your tilt clangs with theirs, witch time would already be over and you lose the exchange by taking damage. Instead, simply getting some good footing is a completely viable option and further invokes more mind games. But yeah, that’s just my advice.
Witch Time is due for a big buff. At least the end lag needs to be significantly reduced so that you aren’t royally boned if you use it at the wrong time. Witch Time doesn’t fare well at all when compared to counters like Joker’s ridiculous Arséne counter which he can use over and over again with almost no room to punish. There are also some issues with attacks damaging you even when using Witch Time because some of them are so fast that even when slowed you have no time to react. I feel that Witch Time should completely cancel the opponent’s attack, or at least nullify it so that it doesn’t damage you. It kind of defeats the point of a counter if you can still be damaged even after successfully pulling it off. Oh, and there should be an invulnerability window after a successful counter (like literally every other counter.)
This! I've played her A LOT these past few days, and I can tell you, jabs/smashes (shulks f-smash) that has more than one instance of attack will screw your WT over and you get punished for timing an attack correctly. It's a unique and awesome tool, but it's extremely situational, they should at least negate any damage to her during WT.
One of the major things they should done was fix the hit boxes after it activates. Ive seen a lot of comebacks ruined because an opponents hitbox out reached her weaves. The move got countered, at least remove the hitbox for a fresh WT. Its the only counter that doesnt do that.
I think something you shouldve added is that with a fresh witch time at any percent, up throw will true combo into up b. You can use it to get the most height if you were to get a witch time on someone on the ground on something like the top platform of battlefield
Bro, you are a legit good bayo resource. Started watching your videos when I recently picked her up. It would be awesome if you could give a guide explaining how to implicate different aerials into her combos and at what percents or in what situations. Great job mate.
I love your guides and content, but I was wondering if you could make a video explaining good neutral for bayo, that is her weak spot, and I’ve just been struggling to get it mastered.
Hey I know I’m late but you probably have heard of enka games, (Japanese bayo) I see them frequently witch time upwards, when we use witch time we slow down mid air and slowly fall but I’ve seen some tech where bayo drifts up while witch time is going through it’s active frames. I can’t find a video of anyone explaining this and was wondering if you knew anything about it.
I know this might be silly to ask but one of the things I have trouble with maining bayonetta is maintaining good spacing against opponents. Could you do a guide on how to do that with her?
Thanks for being the best source for becoming bayo players

I've never clicked on a video so fast lmao
Okay, but when the music matched the moves at 2:38 😤😩✨🤌

This video has style! congrats.
5:37 That was so fucking cool omg

Awesome vid ! Thanks a lot
Definitely helpful ! 🤩

Eyy nice she got a buff on witch time for projectiles 🏌️♂️
Just a question since you covered Witch Time, but I've heard that Bayo's smash attacks are weaker when her opponent is in Witch Time. Is that true?
I forgot about that. But yes it makes them weaker, i think with a multiplier of 1.1x
