    Does This calculation work in Rgp lens. My doctor in college always ask questions from these and I don’t know how to calculate it. Just base curve he said take flat K as base curve. But the total diameter and back vertex power i don’t know how to calculate it , so these work for Rgp or not ?

      Contact lens power calculation is same for soft and RGP lens.

    Why we need to change the vertex distance from mm to meter?

    • @optometry-with-samir
      @optometry-with-samir  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In formula we need in vertex distance in meter form not in mm.
      Thank you.

    Why we estimating BVP ??

      We wear spectacle about 12-14mm away from anterior surface of cornea but Contact Lens is directly attached with cornea. To neutralize this distance, power get changed when we convert spectacle power to contact lens power.

    What is optic zone diameter?

    • @optometry-with-samir
      @optometry-with-samir  ปีที่แล้ว

      For soft contact lens, optic zone diameter ranges between 5-8mm depending upon the patient pupil size in dim light condition.

    Excuse me sir but 337.5 kya hota hai

    • @optometry-with-samir
      @optometry-with-samir  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actual formula is:
      (N1 - N2) x 1000/ K reading.
      Here,
      N1 = Refractive index of keratomerter that is 1.3375
      N2= Refractive index of air that is 1
      So finally it comes,
      (1.3375-1) x 1000 or 337.5
