- 29 states of India in 29 days, that's the driving challenge we set ourselves in the Renault Kwid!
In this FMSCI-sanctioned national record run drive "Renault Kwid 29 States 29 Days Challenge driven by evo India, in association with Ceat Tyres and powered by HPCL" we are tackling all kinds of roads across India in the peak of the monsoons. We are out to test the suitability of the Kwid to India by putting it to the ultimate test over every kind of road surface you can find in India and in all kinds of weather.
In leg 2 we travel from Shillong - the petrolhead's dream residence, through Guwahati and on to Siliguri where we bid goodbye to the wonderful kaleidoscope that is the North East. From there on we cut southwards through traffic ridden West Bengal and then through some of the most incredible roads in Jharkhand. Keeping up the pace we scythe through Odisha and Chhattisgarh and into Andhra Pradesh. A quick dash through Telengana follows before we breeze through Tamil Nadu and on to Pondicherry. Karnataka and Kerala are followed by Goa and its distinct flavours of Portugal. A quick stopover at our home base in Pune is followed by Gujarat and then Rajasthan, the 29th and final state in our list. All of which was done in a record 26 days, 3 days ahead of our target. A new FMSCI certified national record!
On this phenomenal drive the Renault Kwid didn’t cough or splutter through the torturous roads. We didn’t molly-coddle it and she didn’t cry out for some TLC. The Ceat tyres performed very well especially in the rain and didn’t give us a single puncture. And the cars ran beautifully on HPCL’s Power petrol. 29 states ticked off in 26 days. This is an epic national record run.

@@michalekingston7314 no regrets so far dude. Runs smooth!! The only thing to consider is the engine sound. Its abit on louder side but i like the suv type sound lol.. rest its perfect
EDIT: tried hill climb and downhill. No issues runnin uphill with full 5 passengers but had a bit of braking issues time to time while going down. But can be easily controlled using gear braking

Why did you go to the service center? What happened to the car?
Is it true
All Kwid manual cars start rattling from engine bay after 6 months of purchase. The SC people don't have a clue of the problem and say it's standard noise in Kwid. Rattle starts at low rpm and you feel you're driving a JUNK car. after thorough investigation, I found out that the rattle is due to faulty design of manufacturing of the hydrolic engine mounts (2700/- per pc) and it goes loose after 6 months and rattle and clunking develop. SC and Renault refuse to accept this even after I gave them proof and say Renault engineer will come and do R&D on car, will open it up part by part to see what's the problem.
I have been driving a Kwid 800 cc RXT (O) since 2016 but I never had any such issue.
Good job but so much appreciations are not needed I believe because any car, even a MARUTI 800 or a tata nano would win the challenge.

what about all the marutis on the road mate? we have been buying those for years and only now the car market has finally started giving the buyers more safety features and build quality. Maruti is still lagging behing and Renault is in the same boat as well.. Hope things change in the near future like Tata , Hyundai, Kia etc...
