This is an excellent idea. While watching it, I asked myself: Why not embed it in your wooden DIY-router-table ... or even better, make a sled in your router-table with a peg and then mark the diameters on the sled.
Sled could be a "sliding dovetail" (eg. a long dovetail) and should be tightened/locked to the table near the edge of the table.
Tightening mechanism should not push the sled up and "out" of the dovetail, because the dovetail would then break over time.
Instead the tightening mechanism should "clamp" the sled downwards.
-Of course, that will only work with wooden DIY-router-tables, not those that have metal tables.

Thanks alot and welcome to my Channel 😀🖐 But you have to use it carefully.. this is not the safest Way of doing this. 😕 Don't push or rotate the Circle with your Fingers !! Relatively often there are rebounds, and you get scared. 😟

Love how simple the circle jig is do you have plans for it. I desperately need to make one. Thankyou for the other free plans
thank you 😀🖐 I don't have a plan for that. this tool is nice and simple, but also quite dangerous on the milling machine.... especially for small circles, I would advise against using this tool. Bandsaw is much better for that.. There are also circle tools for bandsaw out there. 🙃🖐

I was actually considering some sort of mechanism to rotate the part for me. A rubber drive wheel, a spring tensioner, and a wooden knob

I am making a built-up three layer curved crown molding that needs to turn a 90 degree horizontal bend. Plan is to make three circles of varying thickness and edge profiles then glue them together in a stack that can be then quartered. The quarter will turn the corner. Need to make 5", 4" and 2" diameter circles using your jig. Then cut the profiles on the edges again using your jig. The router bits all have guide bearings. i will raise the bit incrementally to avoid taking too deep a pass. i am looking for any tips including safety tips in using your jig as described. Should the dead end of the jig be clamped to the table when using the live end?

Hi Bob, I don't think this Device is the best Tool for what you're up to. This is more the quick and dirty Solution for just quickly routing a Circle. In Addition, this Device is not the safest way of making Circles. You get a kick-back pretty often. The Kickbacks come from the Fact that you cannot hold and guide the Circle with your Fingers (to close to the Cutter). That's why I strongly recommend not turning the Circle with your Fingers, but with a Pencil with an Eraser End. Clamping the End of the Jig to the Table should hardly work, because you have to work your Way to the Radius of the Circle first. 😀🖐
Great except for needing to drill a hole in anything you circularize. I made something similar but I use a sharpened screw as my pivot point. The tip leaves a slight indent in your project that is easily sanded away. I also use a portable router instead of a router table.
thank you 😀🖐 But I think it would be too risky to use only one screw as pivot point to scratch into the surface. 😳 I think in 99% of all cases you also need a center hole if you need something round. like handles, knobs, wheels etc 🤔 You could drill only half or three quarters of the rotation axis and then use a shorter screw. 😀🖐
